Warning scammer going around Facebook groups

Jan 31, 2025

    1. There is a scammer going around on Facebook groups and possibly other second hand market places.
They falsely provide DoA feedback pages, possibly ruining your reputation.

Here are more information about the scammer:
I've been scammed on Facebook Group (Volks BJD Sales) by someone named Leah Moore, but now changed their profile name to Jj Ivy. This is the scammer's Facebook profile link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1AT8tuGKSh/?mibextid=qi2Omg
The Facebook Group moderator banned this person but they still managed to stay in a group.

From what I can gather, they have attempted multiple scams on various Facebook Groups. They don't directly make sales posts, but instead, they reply to WTB threads and claim to have items for sale, using stolen photos. When a handwritten note is requested, they edit the photos with a note next to it to look like it's real ownership. They ran away when a video proof is requested.

They use several email addresses. So far, I found:
      [email protected]
      [email protected]
      [email protected]

With me, they insisted on Paypal F&F payment. So I offered to cover the fees to use Paypal G&S, but they insisted that they can't have the funds in hold because they use it to pay for shipping. I should've taken that as a red flag.
Though on another scam attempt with someone else, they were willing to take payment via Goods and Services as well. So any Paypal methods are not 100% safe anymore.
Unfortunately, I paid with Paypal funds, so I couldn't contact credit card company.

After payment, they delayed shipping, then asked for more money. When I refused and requested a refund, they unsent messages and photos. At first I thought they deactivated their account but I found out that they just blocked me. In hindsight, I should have exchanged messages on DoA when the scammer provided the feedback page.

      CONCLUSION
Be careful with transaction outside of DoA.
Request for a feedback page, then make sure to exchange messages on DoA before proceeding with payment.
Request for a video proof when in doubt. Scammers can photoshop handwritten notes.
