Scale cameras for 1/3 dolls.

    1. I couldn't figure out if any board was better for prop/accessory discussion, so I put this here.

      We all know about the Canon 5D USB drive that happens to be in scale, and there's also that Sony Alpha flash drive bootleg that some people have.

      But what about the Minox digital Leica and Rollei? These are highly-detailed functional digital cameras that are at least claimed to be 1/3 scale. They're expensive, but not too terribly so by BJD standards.

      So has anybody else come across one of these? I'm gonna be wiped out by buying my doll, so it's not gonna be any time soon that I can try one, but maybe somebody else might take the plunge. Looking at the photo with the camera in the hand, and comparing that to my hand and my GF's DD, it looks pretty close to the right size.

    3. I can tell you immediately that they are far too big for 1/3 sized dolls. Perhaps they could fit 70 or 80cm sized dolls, but it'd still look big in comparison to them. (the length of one is the same length as my dolls head!)

      It's a really cute idea, but the dolls won't be able to use them, and you probably have a normal sized camera anyway. Seems expensive to use as a prop. Oasisdoll sells 1/3 sized fake cameras, as well as there are lighters (:O) that are the correct size. Sorry about that :(

    4. At one point, Dollmore sold SD-sized cameras, I think they too were lighters. They might still do them, but I'm not sure.

    5. Yeah, I checked the dimensions now that there's actually a doll around and they're indeed huge. I think the cameras are closer to 1/2 scale than 1/3.

      I'd be interested to see the Oasisdoll ones, but google isn't turning anything up for them. What's their URL?

    7. I figured I might as well update this. I saw some photos with a Dollfie Dream using the Rolleiflex and it was actually decently in scale. I wish I could find them again to post a link.

      Costs like 7$ shipped

      They're advertised a lot of time for blythe, but they work for MSD/SD
      They're a little bit big for MSD and a little bit small for SD, but I haven't found a camera yet that was perfect.
      For my delf soony, it's in scale with her hands but out of scale for her head.

      ETA - they come in a million different colors. your basic black to bright pink and blue.

    10. I just saw these cameras on eBay while looking for something else. They come with harmonicas, and the price is quite low, especially when you consider shipping is included. It's hard to get a good idea of the scale from the pictures provided, though.

    12. So I ordered one of the Pentax keychain camera toys, and it works fine for my purposes. Here's a photo of it in the hands of my 65cm Souldoll Shiva G, Sarah.
