There was so much Soom Gorgeousness at this con, it was almost unbearable.
Honestly, it almost made me ache for wanting them all.

 

So nice, wish I made it. I had planned to go, but my health has been against me for awhile now. But yeah for lots of Soom goodness.

 

Did anyone get a good pic of my contest entry in the display? My pics came out horrible, so I really need a good one of my entry. TIA!

For the record, I think we had a big Soom MD presence because some people just got their Event dolls and I just finished blushing my Heliot hooves and Euclase feet and put them on, after years of having human feet on... so I had to show off also... There were people there who did not bring their MDs, too... Soom is just popular, I suppose. No one did any planning to bring their dolls (or at least I did not... My Heliot is new, from the Marketplace, so it's tempting just to bring new dolls!)

I bought tons of lovely things-- DollHeart outfits and other clothing from Ms Cholong, and WON A FREE DOLL HEAD! Bought several cute hats and dresses. Had a fantastic time hanging out with everyone and taking pictures. Won a Yo-Sized DollHeart outfit and a lovely plaque/photo for "Most Creative" in the costume contest. Thanks to you all for being there to make for an awesome event!

You know, I have 4 Sooms... and didn't bring them. *sigh* so they missed out on the 'table of Sooms', and are quite bummed. I brought them last year, but this year, brought the dolls who didn't get to come last year. LOL.

 

April, your shots are fantastic, and the shots of Ace/Paul are fabulous! Thank you so much for sharing them with me, I was feeling a little ill that I didn't have a decent pic of him from the contest. Great job, as he's not an easy doll to photograph (cream white), especially wearing black against a dark background. He washes out so easily, but you sure managed to get the contrast beautifully, and I thank you!

I am still smiling about your "Fly", that was SUCH a clever idea, and the Invisible Man was a crack up too!

 

I know... you have little Soom MDs and big ones... The Group shot was fun, but as I was saying in the other thread, I kept expecting the biggest dolly-domino group of falling dolls! The Cuprit and... the Chalco? had already taken a dive to the floor. So your dolls were probably safer at home.

I've got a ton of white dolls, so I know how they can wash out... I've only got a point-and-shoot, so it's not so great when I need to control the settings, but I was trying to get a decent shot of your gorgeous guy! Hopefully others will post more photos... Oh, and they DID say that Chris took photos of all the Contest dolls--so that should be good!

Heh. I was just fooling about with The Fly... I knew there was going to be the Mad Scientist lab, so I figured I should at least throw a lab coat on one of my dolls for that... I was also going to have one of my dolls poke a stick at a glowing glob of red slime and do "the Blob," but I wanted to play about with my Soom boys, so I wasn't worried about the SF theme so much. But I'm glad people enjoyed my very crude efforts at costume-making!!! Thanks!

 

The blob could have been a real hoot as well!

 

Well, at least someone other than me took pics of my dolls.

 

I was trying to get everyone... but there were a LOT of dolls. And some left earlier... and some of my photos were too out of focus...
I like seeing other people's photos of my dolls, too, so I know how you feel.

My poor Shirou... He gets dragged into a lot of crazy costumes. I WAS a bit worried as I was hot-gluing stuff on the fly WHILE it was sewn onto his head!!! But he has survived the whole indignity with his lovely One-Off face intact!

I'm glad some people got photos of their dolls with Chiron-with-reindeer horns and the sleigh! That was so cool. I didn't have a chance to get out there for photos...

 

Thanks for taking pics of my Mel (the girl with brown curly hair laying Cleopatra-style on the couch) I still don't know if my pics of her came out or not...have to download them. I did make her whole costume myself tho, including the jewelry, so it was nice to have her get noticed. I also had fun with the Soom table...one of the Chroms was mine along with the little Yrie (waving in pink and grey).

The grey "babe" is my friend Pumpkin1984's Absinthe, a Soom GS Galena. She made that whole outfit by hand, including the shoes!

 

There were a lot of great costumes. They were all very impressive.

The silver outfit on the Galena was a definitely winner! Amazing work!

I'm glad someone else had the opportunity to get pics of dolls that were set up for the contest, because I never got around to taking pictures! Anyway, here's some of the highlights I took.
