I have never gotten so far with a complete sculpt. This is technically my second ball jointed doll, but my first trying to do everything on my own. I decided to keep her pretty simple considering she was designed to be a cloth doll in the beginning. The thigh joint was really a lot of work. I will be making a mold of her to get resin casts. I have big plans for her eyes.
Wow, she's going to be adorable - How big is she? It almost looks like you're going to give her openable eyelids
Daiin- Thanks You will see…hopefully in the next couple of months. I need to work faster, blah Devilfloss- She's about 2 feet? maybe a little more, but her head is as big as my head. Glimmer- Yup I am using paper clay. Next time I am going to use polymer clay for smaller models. The whole drying in the middle of sculpting can get annoying, and not being able to wet sand it haha. my room was so full of dust, and even after cleaning it's still in every nook and cranny. I am using gesso to do the initial sealing and filling in cracks, but gesso is so hard to sand.
Fascinating! She's pretty big! Her eyes scare me a little, the eye wells are very deep. But anime style faces can look weird before face-ups. I look forward to seeing more on this project!
