Doll-Mage submitted a new tutorial: Safe & Easy - Resin Color Refresher Read more about this tutorial here...
Thank you so much for your tutorial! Newbie here and I am always worried about my doll yellowing and was wondering how I can make it less yellow once it reaches that point. Now I know the perfect way!
I've had my DZ Thyme head just kinda rolling around for about 4 years so when I got a new body I couldn't decide if the resin tones were different or the head had just yellowed a smidge over time. I'll have to try this out, just to make sure.
I tried this with my elderly AOD boy body Rao. I ended up soaking him for a little over 24 hours, and only stopped the polident cycle because I noticed the hooks in his hands and feet (I hadn't been able to remove them) were starting to corrode. Initially I didn't think there had been any difference, but once he was all dry I could see that he had indeed become a smidge brighter. The before and after isn't stark enough for me to be able to photograph it very well, but it was a fun and interesting thing to try. Thanks!
This is such a great tutorial! I might have to try it on my oldest doll when I wipe his face up soon. Thank you!
Never ever thought polident could be used!!! I definitely give a try when it comes to time for my dollies!
Thank you so much!! I’m looking forward to doing a little deep clean on a couple of dolls who need it right now
Has anyone tried letting the Polident completely dissolve before putting their dolls parts in the baths? I love the idea of this method, and I have an old SD10 boy body from 2010 that could use this treatment, but I don't like the idea of the Polident potentially staining him if I don't mix the water enough while the tablets dissolve.
You could certainly do that. Just be sure to test the parts in containers filled with water first to ensure they are large enough for the parts to be completely submerged, and be careful of the surroundings in case of water displacement when adding the parts to the filled containers.
