I'm interested in the Star body too. I'm surprised there isn't more chat about it. I'd like to know what colour it is.

 

I'm kind of curious too - is here at DoA any lucky owner?

 

How does the body pose. I saw Whee to and I really like him. I love how cool the body looks with the sadol clothes.

Please post some pictures of your guy. That would be so awesome

 

I really like Kyouru, and nearly went for him at first, but I would like him with the faceup he has in the naked body shots with the red hair. The Guard set comes with a much darker faceup and black hair.
Plus, I don't see that they take lay away..?

I would LOVE to see owner photos of posing and faceups! IsaCat - did you get the faceup with yours, or did you get him blank? Also, did you get the guard outfit as well?

I know, ton of questions... But I'm really tempted!

I got Kyeoru +Mua :3 It's shipped today!! But no face up... lol I need to work on it but better get MSC first :3
But I did went to offline store at S.Korea and had chance to play with them a little bit.
tbh, never liked pic on website with body brushing on ( not saying artist did bad job, it's my opinion ) it b/c it made them super thin...
but as I know, Sadol reallys puts effort on making clothes with nice lovely model/idol like fits,
and think STAR70 is great body for it :3

Please do, if you haven't change your mind, it would be super helpful. I can't find SADOL poseability info or comparsion anywhere.

 

I really want to know how they look next to other 70cm dolls. I'm thinking of getting the body, but I dunno if the proportions would work with my collection.

I swear, Kyouru doesn't look anything like he did in the previous naked photos, or as the royal guard version, and now I'm looking instead at Ha-ram, thinking he looks more like Kyouru did.... O_o

Anyone know if they take lay away? I can't seem to find any information about that anywhere on the English site, so I'm guessing not...?

I think Sadol sculpts are very versatile. If you look closely at all their photos you will see that their sculpts can look very different depending on the faceup. In particular Kyouru can be painted to look like he has eyelid folds or not so his eye shape really changes. This type of face sculpt best showcases faceup artists work as opposed to the sculpts that have very strong shapes and features. I have no funds for these beautiful boys right now but I would love to get my hands on Whee at some point.

edit: Actually none of the Sadol sculpts have eyelid fold sculpted in which means you can make their eyes look very different depending on how they are painted....FUN!

 

I have a Whee head that I'm using as a girl on a Luts SDF body. She's got the faceup from Sadol.



The head is pretty large - I'd say comparable to Volks SD boy heads.

I know! I really want to get the Ha-Ram head and but it on an adult doll chateau male body!!! Do you think it will work? I think the sadol head is a bit more then 1 cm bigger then the normal doll chateau adult male head... In addition the circumference neck of the Star 70 body that this head would usally go on is 11cm while the circumference of the neck on the adult DC body is 9cm!! I hope it will work anyways!! Maybe I will have to get the head modded so it can be smaller at the neck part....?? Is that even possible?!?! What does everyone think?

chasingmargeux: I say go for it if you want to, but there won't likely be anyone with those two pieces (sadol head/DC body) to get you any pictures beforehand. You'd likely be the first! ^__^ And then you can tell us how it goes.
Personally, I think the combination will look bobble-headed, but you could definitely get the head's neck hole modded fairly easily, I would think.

OMG!!!! I was thinking of getting Whee and a SDF boy body, is the normal skin match perfect? does the head look right with the body?

Please, say yes to all this so I can bring home my dream doll!! 70cm dolls are TOO much for me and I love SDF bodies, this would be awesome if the match and proportions are fine!

Are those Sadol clothes you have on your boy? Looking at how long and lanky he is, I suspect I'll have to sew a few things for him, and save up for Sadol things.

I just ordered my own Kyouru tonight! Yes for layaway! ^___^ (maybe I'll print out the receipt to put under the tree...)

 

Can anyone please tell me Kyouru's head size in Cm?

 

It's 9inch so that should be 23cm. (9 inch = 22, 86 cm)

I'm still hoping someone will post a pic of the 70cm next to other dolls of the same size. I'm liking how skinny they look, but would be nice to have a comparison.

 

Well, they just shipped my Kyouru, so it won't be long now, and I'll try to get you some comparison photos. ^__^

 

Oh, that would be wonderful, because of lack of comparisions. And that body is so nice, would love to see it in person, or at least someonets photo. Fingers crossed for safe journey for your Kyouru!

 

He's in town now, but tomorrow is a holiday for delivery. (~I~ still have to work... *grumble*) So I expect him Tuesday!

Okay, here's how I spent my day off: Naked 70ish cm boys

I have to say, I love this guy! He does some GREAT natural poses! He came with some kips (rubber discs so you don't have to hot glue suede) in his shoulders and elbows. He has a wonderful slouch! And I love his hands - nice, long fingers.
And holy cow! The carrier case! I did not expect such a huge, and very nice case! It's the size of the box he was shipped in, with both short handles and a long shoulder strap. SWEET!
Plus, he came with a pair of glasses and that little newspaper - as free gifts! ^___^
The eyes they sent with him are nice glass ones and just happen to be what he's going to wear. I tried a few eyes I have on hand, but like the ones they sent, the best. When I was trying 14mm eyes - just holding them in the head and looking, they gapped quite a bit, but once they're in and set, I don't see it at all. O_o Weird. But nice!
I actually took a two hour nap, then was at the post office when they open just the pick-up window at 6am. lol They hadn't even updated his tracking yet to show he was there.

Congratulations aernath ! Your Worthy was for sure worth every dollar that you spend on him, he's really nice! And I absolutely love that body, I saw your comparision - and I think THIS is what I was looking for! Thank you very much for your help.
Seems that he came with lot of stuff, that's nice. How long did you wait for him if I may ask? Was it really between 30-40 days (i guess working days) after you paid?

 

Thanks! Yeah, I did a short lay away, half down, and half a month later. They definitely must have started on him before I was finished paying, because he shipped out shortly after I made the last payment. I ordered him 28Nov, and made the last payment about Christmas. They shipped him out the 19th of January. So... not bad at all!

I do want to mention one thing though: it's tough getting the thigh "mobility" joint to work when he's wearing pants. I gave up after a while, and just let him stand.
The clothes are really nice too, btw. ^__^

 

I really like Sadol. I am so getting a fullset Mu. And their clothes are to die for. I love all the little details they put into them

 

I agree, her legs _are very nice. and you can hardly see her joints ; she's so streamline ~

 

Does anyone have Byeol-Ha? He looks lovely, I love his eyes.

hmmm for body posing, I'd say it's more for being pretty pretty and stand up straight and sit for clothes
so it's more like displaying model body. but when it comes down to clothes and display or what so ever, I'm not a
big fan of tons of joints on dolls - since they get wacky? later on... OTL so hard to pose with them ...
I'm okay with it :3

If so does the SD13 Size fit a 26cm boy hips?

SHe is a beautiful doll! Her body lines are very elegant and she poses pretty well, although her thigh keeps wanting to rotate out of its hip joint. The clothing is very well made and fits her just perfectly. I am still thinking of a name for her, but I will probably call her Meryn.

I haven't had any problems with posing her, and she stands like a rock compared to my boys! In her heel feet! I'm so surprised because I always thought heels would be harder to pose, but SADOL's one piece system is really great ^u^ And you're right, it makes beautiful lines~ This is my first girl doll and I fear my wallet may be in trouble again XD....

 

Oh she is beautiful, Laelen! I love her eyes, they just glow! I really love these dolls-- hopefully there will be lots more of them showing up here soon.

 

I'm sorry I don't have any SD kids, but I did look up the measurements for both on the wiki here. It says SD13 hips are 26cm, and DF -H hips are also 26cm. So the pants should fit on the hips SD13 legs, though, are 1cm shorter than DF -H legs (SD13: 31cm, DF -H: 32cm). Hopefully the difference isn't too great.

Do you know if sadol sell the high heel leg alone?
Do the high heel leg compatible to the ariadoll/switch body?

Their body shape look quite similar..

I lost the high heel leg for that body but it cannot be brought alone from switch....(sad)
