I was wondering, for those of you with completely strung dolls how do you keep the pins you use for s hooks from sliding out? The pins in the dolls hands and feet. Thanks in advance for any responses to this lol i've always wondered but could never figure it out :dead
Hmm that's very interesting does it dry matte or shiny? And also is it transparent or does it have a color? Sorry for the questions. I'm just really curious about how doll artists who use pins get things working right.
There are a few colors that I know of. There is grey, translucent yellow and white. Some artists dye the epoxy to match the flesh tone. The kind I use dries to a satin finish, but epoxy is sandable, so I can take some fine grit sandpaper and take the shine off. What I do is tack my pins in place with some E-6000 glue, than once dry I add epoxy to the hole where the pin is sitting. Here is a link to a tutorial I have on my site that shows how I assemble a porcelain BJD. It will show you exactly how I do it. http://woodlandearthstudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3615
