    2. They seem to have a faceplate system like the Unoas and Pukis do.

      How to separate the head

      Writer : Master Date : 08-12-08 13:12 HIT : 6

      1. Hold the face and the back of the head with both hands (one for one).

      2. Push the face up, and the face will be separated.

      3. Turn the S-ring on the back of the head 90 degrees to make it fall into a big groove.

      4. Take out the back of the head that has been separated from the body.

    3. Ah silly me! It is a board post which says:
From the About Rosette Doll post, sounds like they should pose well!
From the How To Stand post, this is very similar to the How To Stand page on Soom:
      From the assembling page:
They also say the hands are easily removeable for dressing.

    4. I went ahead and uploaded the pictures to photobucket.. since a lot of people can't seem to register. D:

The images are really large, so I'll just post a link to it.

      Small bust
      http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l253/tsepish/1982198018_157f9be8_Nude_GB_e.jpg

It seems only Marguerite and Fir come with the large bust. Violet, Armeria, and Camellia come with the small bust. I wonder if they'd be willing to switch bodies..? I think I prefer the larger bust, but I want Violet or Camellia. ><

I actually really like them, in that anime inspired way. They really remind me of a larger version of Soom Mini Gems, the body proportions are just really similar. :) They wouldn't really fit in proportion wise to anything else I have, but they are lovely. ><

    5. Wait, what? *_*

Is there a seperate knee attatchment to hide the joint? Because it doesn't look able to go into the joint, and the head on 90° bent picture shows a smaller more normal double knee joint..

      Weird! XD

    6. Looks like it ^^

Now I know what the 'How To Use The Kneepan Part' post meant:

    7. so the knee joint has a cover ?
so when its sitting you clip it on ?
mhh interesting ..dunno if I would use it much

    8. If anyone else has ordered one, I started a waiting room thread: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=262451

Although I kinda feel like the only one at the moment. XD

I know someone else had mentioned or questioned this earlier, but the dolls are definitely made by SOOM. Their website is linked from the SOOM website (it's a button the left sidebar) and when I paid it went to SOOM.

    9. Hm, I'm assuming they're in the 1/4 - mature mini range.

Here's a comparison of the Unoa VS Narae VS Rosette measurements:

      unoa Narae Rosette
      42.0 - 43.0 - 47.5 Height in cm
      16.5 - 16.7 - 17.0 Head circumference
      16.0 - 17.0 - 14.3 flat chest around
      17.5 - 00.0 - 16.0 large chest around
      19.0 - 19.0 - 17.0 hip around
      12.5 - 12.5 - 14.0 arm length
      23.0 - 23.0 - 29.5 Leg length
      05.5 - 05.5 - 05.3 Foot length

      :)

ETA; they're also said to have the same wig and eye size as Narae/Unoa.

    10. For those wondering if they're 1/4, 1/3, or 1/3.5 scale, here's a comparison of how there measurements would be in the real world, to give you an idea of body size. Also keep in mind that most BJDs are unrealisticly proportioned, and these aren't that far off from others.

      1/3 1/3.5 1/4
      4'7" 5'5" 6'3" height
      17" 20" 22" small bust
      19" 22" 25" large bust
      12" 14" 16" waist
      20" 24" 27" hips

    11. There is definitely a small and large bust torso. Pictures are on the website. Fir and Marguerite are large bust (lady) sized. The rest are small bust (girl) sized. I'm not sure about the wrist, but to dress, it says you can remove the hands and slot the s-hook into a groove in the wrist to hold it, then put the hands on once she is dressed.

    12. They are a sub-company of Soom, if I remember correctly? I hope that's not a factor in the delays.. *regards months of piled up orders for the MDs* D:

    13. The Q&A on their site seems to just be their FAQ, linked as the "User Guide." I know for a while they accepted communications via email at this address: [email protected].

I was under the impression that they were part of SOOM because when I paid for my doll, my receipt states the payment went to dollsoom.co.kr. (But that's not concrete proof or anything.)

    14. [IMG][IMG][IMG]
Found this randomly. It is erm, interesting to see the proportion side by side. I think the ones on the right are ... kid delf.. and probably a Tiny Fairy?

    15. So how are people feeling about the company so far? I'm impressed with the dolls, but I do think they need to work on how people are contacting them and how they're responding. My file still hasn't been updated, my account is incorrect and they've read the note I posted on my account about it. Maybe the email address works better? The last time I tried to send it, it returned back to me. I think I prefer the Q&A Form that most companies have.

    16. Well, overall I am rather satisfied. I have always gotten an email response from Rosette Doll no more than two days after sending my message. I just sent them an email yesterday pestering them about shoes and they responded to me immediately (to tell me they are a limited product... *sob*). During the roughly three months of my order, I contacted them approximately 6 times with various questions, although I only asked once about order shipping--the other times it was all auxiliary information I was curious about.

However, I think that it is a problem if not everyone is able to contact them effectively. They might want to set up a Q&A forum or something of that nature, perhaps like whatever SOOM has?

Having received my doll, I find that she is EXTREMELY impressive. The only have two qualms, and they affect my judgment in a very minor way:
      1) My limited edition Violet has a silver metal stamp on her head, which is supposed to be the student edition. Limited editions are supposed to have a gold stamp, according to the website.
      2) The booklet and the website mention that the dolls will have body blushing. Mine does not.

    17. Did Marguerite have the gold stamp? Mine's a limited as well, and I'd like her to come with the headcap she's meant to. Maybe that was the problem with the dolls? Body blushing is nice with the dolls. I think overall for the price, you get a great deal for the money. I'd still like to see some basic nude versions offered though. I'm quite liking Violet now I've seen her. If I decided to get a second one, it's going to be hard to choose which one I like best.

I may try emailing them, but I think I'll just make the final payment and see what happens.

    18. Better pic of my girls from the Las Vegas meet - thanks to all who took pictures!

    19. Oh, JustKatie179, your girls look more beautiful each time I see pictures~

Derilan85, their faceplates stay on very well, in my experience. I will take a picture in a day or two to illustrate what I will describe, but the faceplate has a magnet at the chin and a puzzle-piece at the crown of the head. The headcap has a circular indentation that the circular protrusion of the faceplate fits into perfectly. The interlocking prevents the faceplate from falling off if the doll is tilted forward or the magnet fails. However, the faceplate can still fall off if you are rough and shook the doll around at crazy angles, or held her upside down without her wearing a well-fitting wig.

I find that the faceplate is very easy to remove, but does not jostle around once it is on the doll. I really like this system!

No problem, Popomini! I have Violet, and I've been taking pictures like crazy~ They're all in my Flickr account, sweetmilktea.

Here's one I took this morning; please forgive the bad lighting!

    20. Ok, here's an interesting situation for people out there. I happened to look out on my back patio today - wanted to see if the plants were getting any rain and saw a BJD box out there. My heart stopped and I thought "Vesuvia has arrived!!!". Then I noticed the box looked too small and my heart sank. Sure enough, it's a box from Rosette School of Dolls - why is this a problem? I haven't finished paying off my layaway. When I opened the box, it said Camelia. I ordered a fullset Marguerite. Sigh. Interestingly enough, Camelia is on a Lady body. Now I have to go through the hassle of trying to sort this out with Rosette. Meanwhile my order is showing as delivered. Honestly, this is a nightmare. Camelia is pretty and the body is lovely, but I wanted the fullset Marguerite and I've overpaid for a basic doll by about $20. So far, I can't say I'm too happy, particularly if I've got to send at least the head back. I'm hoping I can keep the body to save postage and they will send me Marguerite's head and her outfit once I've paid the final balance.

    21. Yes, I had to send Camellia back and now I've paid off my Marguerite so hopefully she won't be long. Rosette responded promptly and we sorted it all out. I guess they'll wait until Camellia gets back to them before they send my girl out. I've given them the tracking no. and they've refunded the postage which is good. They took it off my layaway straight away.

    22. Without having to dig through this whole thread was there anything about clothing? has anyone tried MSD size clothes/shoes on this girl yet? all i have are mature min (unoa) sized clothes I am going to try when I get home but I was just wondering.

I really hope my unoa clothes will fit (I know the length will be shorter) but for the most part as I hate the thought of buying yet another sized wardrobe Y_Y

    23. I've tried on MSD-sized clothes (worn by my roommate's DoCs) and it's all short and extra-baggy. I'm not sure about any of the slim MSDs, though.

    24. There are two different bust sizes in the Rosette dolls and it may be easier to fit the Larger bust Lady size. I'm wondering if Tonner clothing would work, especially on the large bust girls. According to the website, you can remove hands to fit clothing so it may work.

    25. Both the hands and feet are REALLY easy to remove. The hooks have grooves that they fit into, so you don't have to worry about them slipping back inside of the body while the hands are off. I've been taking her hands off all the time--the school uniform is impossible to put on otherwise.

You hold the "wrist" ball firm, and pull the hand out a bit. Then, turn the hand approximately 90 degrees, and you will feel the hook turn and fit into the groove in the wrist that will hold it. Once the hook is secured, the hand just slips off. You put it back, you slip the hand back on, pull it out a bit, and turn it until the hook slides back into the slot it was pulled from and tension is restored.

There are pictures of this on the Rosette Doll website~

    26. YoSD size--6/7inch--fits perfectly.

    27. Clothing items for certain slim MSDs, if they fit width-wise, still might be too short, but since the Rosette Doll length is mostly in her legs, certain outfits might not look too bad. Pants would probably look silly, but some skirts or other items might not be too bad.

    28. Well, she can fit some of my slim mini clothes that were made for unoas, they are a bit wide in the shoulders but do able and of course the length is shorter but she can wear them! I only tried on a few outfits, some Brennil stuff and Arcadia Dolls dresses, she also fits into the shoes but some are big and clunky like the ones that are made for MSD.

    29. I have tryed on leeke-shoes. One fit nicely, but other pair is to large.

    30. I keep forgetting to ask, but does anyone know if their factory faceups are sealed? I am worried about anything happening to Claudia's faceup, but if I seal it myself I'll have to remove her eyelashes, which I would like to avoid if possible.

    31. Factory face-ups are always sealed, and usually very well. As the dolls are from Soom, it shouldn't be a problem. I've had my Sabik for a couple of years and haven't had a problem with his face-up.

    32. Does anyone know if they can wear Tonner clothes? I know tonners are more short... but perhaps they have similar measures :X

    33. I've put the tonner outfits on my girl and they're not too bad on the Large bust. A little loose, but the dresses work well. I keep meaning to take a photo of Marguerite in the Wicked Witch dress - she looks really cute and it doesn't appear to be too small for her. I don't know how the smaller bust girls would work.

Little Shiko - for most of us, it was 2.5 to 3. They apparently had problems with production that they're still trying to resolve.

    34. I have 'small bust' Tonner outfits... the ones done for Euphemia/Agnes (big Agnes Dreary) body (they can't be closed in my big bust Harley Queen Tonner).

Anyway, I would love to see that photo, I love all the Wicked Witch outfits :)

    35. Some awesome rosette doll customization
is amazing how they can look with different make up/lashes!
This lady for a fir mold and violet mold, and modded them heavily
      http://ghungroos.jugem.jp/

    36. Does anybody have pictures of the Rosette body? How posable would you say she is? Since the dollzone dolls are so thin and 45cm tall, do you think their clothes could fit the Rosette dolls?

I had thought about getting a boy first, but I love the lanky body on these girls. Then I could get a DZ boy and she'd be just a little taller than him. :)

    37. I'd vote for the Rosette first as a doll that would make your mother fall in love and have more tolerance even enthusiasm for your hobby.

      Girl Body

I like my Dollzone Yuu, but the sculpting and craftsmanship of the Rosette is far superior. You can layaway on the Rosette site and pay her off gradually. The old fashioned outfits are lovely and she comes as a complete set.

    38. Thank you Hobbysue! I do like that she comes as a complete set, I've never sewn anything in my life so I don't know if I'll ever really have the skills to make nice outfits for her.:sweat My only problem would be that if I could only have one doll, I think I'd rather have a boy. My plan has always been to only have two; a boy and a girl. I wish they had a skinny boy's school doll to match their girl's school dolls. That would be adorable but against concept I guess.:D

I don't know if this would help anybody, but DZ boys can wear Ken's (Barbie's bf;)) shirts. They become belly shirts on them. I'd say that these girls could probably wear them as well since they are so slender. (For the girl bodies anyway, I don't know about ladies.)

If I could, what makes her better made? Is it her joints or the resin itself?

    39. Quality is very high - since they are from the Soom company, resin is excellent. (And wait is also long ... sigh ... but worth it). The outfits are unbelieveably well made, and extremely high quality.

    40. Well, when I say the sculpting is better, she's got a 'finished' look. Her joints flow into each other, the lines are very graceful. The dollzone are chunky and very nice, but 'rougher'. Elbows and joints poke out, they just don't have the same look. There is a difference. If you see them together, you can see it instantly. Luts, Iplehouse, Rosette, Volks are some of the most professionally finished dolls around, Soom is very good, but where I'd give Rosette etc 10/10, I'd give Soom a 9/10, Dollzone would probably be 6/7. I'd suggest seeing if you can find a local doll meet. It's well worth the drive.

    41. Thanks, that is true about DZ, they have such thick joints. (Cankles! oh my!) That's really part of why I like the Rosette molds, they seem like higher quality grace for the same price. o_0 Can she bend any at the bust line? It seems like she could, but it might be a little tight...

By the way, I posted the following on the Q&A board:
I know that currently one cannot buy any outfit besides the valentine's outfit separately. But, do you have any idea when separate outfits will be available for the girls? It is hard because the unusual size of the dolls make it difficult to find clothes for them and we can't order the clothing separately for the dolls. What if members who had registered their dolls could order clothing separately? That way one would not have to buy a new doll for every outfit.

Also, I realize that the summer term dolls only come with dreaming heads, but many of us would like to exchange the head or body type. If that is impossible, will subsequent dolls have this option?

If you agree or have anything to add, please go comment so the company knows what we want. ;3 http://www.rosettedoll.com/eng/bbs/board.php?bo_table=QnA_e&wr_id=142

    42. I finally got my Valentine's uniform! :D It was worth the wait--the fabric and tailoring are PERFECT. Plus it comes with an extra blouse and pair of tights. I'm gathering a collection of tights, since they seem to come with everything. *giggles*

I've got pictures on my Flickr at sweetmilktea, and could take detailed shots if anyone is interested.

    43. All of the clothing is extremely well-made. The uniform dress is made of a heavy-weight fabric with a very smooth finish to it, and all of the tiny details are stitched on very well. I'm very satisfied. :3

    44. Are you able to comment on other people's posts on Rosette doll's Q&A board? I asked everybody to do so, but I didn't realize it might not be possible.

As far as possibility goes, how far can her torso bend? Can it bend at all?

    45. I've been able to comment on other people's posts on the Q&A board, but only if it's an open post.

As to poseability, the torso can do a good amount of posing; there is a joint in the hips and one in the bustline. My Eva can get into some fun poses.

    46. My doll was extremely loose when she arrived. This was mentioned on the Rosette Doll website and in the manual that comes with the doll.

However, the knot for the elastic was not in her head, but hidden inside of her torso. What I ended up doing was carefully removing her head and upper body, untying and retying her elastic to be tighter. Then I threaded a ribbon (I don't own a restringing tool...) through her headcap and down into her upper body, caught the elastic again, pulled it up through the rest of her, and replaced the hook. It was really scary to me, since I've never restrung a doll before, but it honestly wasn't that hard. I don't think I tightened her enough, so I really ought to do it again.

    47. D: I'm a bit scared to do that ~o~ Is there a tutorial in the Manual? :3

    48. There isn't a tutorial, but there is a diagram in the manual of how the body is laid out. I could try to take pictures the next time I adjust my girl's elastic. (Or perhaps one of the more expert ball-jointed doll owners here could take some or has taken some--I haven't really looked.) It's not very complicated, but it's a bit easier to explain with pictures.

    49. Soo... My Fir arrived and she is a beauty. But to find clothing for her seems to be a problem. I might hae missed some discussion, but do anybody have good recomendations as to which clothes fit her (apart from the original Rosette sets)?
When it comes to wigs and shoes, she seems to be compatible with anything that fits Unua 1.5, and some MSD skirts was easy to adapt, but socks and underware was way to wide...

    50. I haven't found any other clothing that fits them very well, but I saw on Flickr that someone with a Fir had some luck with Tonner clothing. Here's the picture I noticed: Fir in a dress.

    51. Tonner dresses fit mine well, I've got the large bust and she's worn the Tonner wicked witch dress and the cinderella dress. If you look, it's easy to remove their hands to put on the outfits. There's a notch and the hands slip off.

    52. So, I know I've asked about possability but what's the most difficult pose you've gotten your doll to do? And, do you have pictures of it? For instance, can they stand on one foot or touch their own faces?

:EDIT: Kyaaaah! Rosette has answered me and with good news to boot! Here's the reply:

      Dear Customer,

      Hello,

First of all, I apologized that lately reply.

Thank you so much for your deep interesting in our product.

We have a plan for release the outfit separately ASAP.
(It might be 2 month later)
Plz kindly wait for little bit for us.

It is not possible to change the body type at the present.
But I will present about that.

      Thanks a lot,
      Have a good day!

      Rosette Doll

This is awesome news! Now if I'd like I could get a couple outfits for her as well. XD It would be sweet if they'd sell the summer outfits seperately, Camellia would be the only one with a completely closed-eye head. =_=

Am I supposed to respond back to them or should I just leave it alone?
