Roserin Doll (previously Cozydoll & Pixydoll)

Pixydoll is the one that made Dino, Van and co. right? Seems like the sculptor has decided to finally start selling dolls more commercially and in larger quatities, I am happy for her, she is quite talented.

Unfortunately (or fortunatley?!) personally none of these heads strike me as anything very intresting paticularly, BUT I am looking forward to see what else they sell in the future.

Wow so she closed pixydoll?? I wonder if the sculptor still work with Crobi, new website is more user friendly than before ^^
I'm always waiting them to re-release Sevi again, I hope more heads would come out, nothing interested me at this time~

 

Why on earth did Yuna obliterate the Pixydoll site? Regardless of it's difficult navigation (which wasn't a big deal to me), why erase all record of her previous work?
That said, I like the new layout and the thorough illustrations, both painted and blank, of each head. Allen is quite lovely and Reina looks pretty versatile. It's too bad that they are time limited, but that was always her way...

 

I just now really looked at the site and I didn't realize that all her other pictures are gone. That's really too bad, I love dreaming Sevy and Dino and many of her previous sculpts. I hope she puts up her older works at some point even for reference.

 

The site itself is better, easier to order and so on, that's great... BUT I don't like new works - they're OK, still not half as pretty as Lance, Yon-Ho, Sevy, Van.

 

She's got a notice posted that she absolutely will not entertain requests about Pixydoll heads, so that might be why she doesn't want them showing there. But I posted a note saying that it would be nice to see an online gallery of her past works somewhere.

 

Thank you for this news, though, as all lovers of Pixydoll (especially early sculpts), I am a bit disappointed at the models presented on the new site. But I will certainly keep an eye on this new site

Oh good! She did put the pictures back up! I asked about a gallery when the site first opened. The timeline is cool too! I suspect that Yuna doesn't have authorization from Luts to post their sculpts since they are fiercely protective of their copyright.

 

For Luts I remember on her previous website she listed that she sculpted Bory, Hodoo, Bliss, and Cian (I probably forgot other ones ^^; ) As for her new site, I am so happy to see the pics up I love the timeline--especially in seeing how her style has developed over the years. I love the new limited head Emile, but that's a punishing body choice for him! He's made for a whiteskin Graffiti boy body which is only available ad a Sato FCS! @___@ and a two day ordering period makes it had to decide....

 

I really like Emile, but why why white skin only? He'd be a regular SD13 boy for me, but I don't want white skin.

 

*Eeek!* Those were pretty much my thoughts exactly. If he was offered in Normal Skin I would seriously consider him, but WS only just... seems like far too much trouble to find a matching body outside of the FCS line-up. Too bad! I'll enjoy seeing what other buyers do with him, though.

 

Well, I asked Yuna if she planned to release Emile in NS in the future because if I finally get around to doing a Sato order it won't be for a spare body. @_@

 

Emile is so lovely! Since the Volks matching body is difficult to obtain, does anyone have a suggestion for a possible body match?

 

Well, it's always been hard to understand Yuna very clearly through our mutually insufficient Google translate conversations, but it does sound like she plans to sell Emile in normal skin too.

That sounds like it may mean there is a normal skin order possibly after this one in the works. Hmm, decisions. I've really cut back on my larger dolls but this head would be perfect for a character.

 

Oooh, I do hope a normal skin is in the works then. It would be great for a character I'd like to do.

I did a search for Roserin on Den of Angels and can't find anything but the announcement for the head sculpt that was just released called Dino. Anyone know anything about them?

Looks like they're only selling his head, so if you know what body he's got or what resin matches or body fits nicely, please post some info. I'm also really digging his wig! Do you recognize it from anywhere?

I wasn't planning on getting another doll for quite some time, but he is so tempting! And the price isn't bad, though I didn't see whether or not they said a faceup was included.

 

If it helps, this is the same artist that previously worked under the name "Pixydoll" and then "Cozydoll". Looks like the body the Growth version Dino head is on might be a Volks SD17 boy body?

I love the look of the head, but I already have the original (young) and sleepy versions of Dino. I don't know if I could justify getting this head, too, especially since the older look wouldn't really suit my girl. ^^;;

 

No! I'm actually pretty new to the hobby. I got my first doll 3 years ago but I'm still very unfamiliar with companies and even dolls and doll part sizes. >_>;

So does this person have an actual site? I didn't see any other dolls listed. Do you say young doll meaning the head was meant for a smaller doll's body?

He's really beautiful and I'm interested in getting him but I've never bought a head from one company and a body for it from another. That's a little intimidating to me. Their ordering system is also weird. Like it says open from July through March, but then it says ordering will be split into 3 periods, and the first is only 3 days? Maybe I misread.

 

Cozydoll + Pixydoll database. Not much there, though -- you'd probably do better just searching the forum for "pixydoll" and "cozydoll".

Apparently Roserin is the new site. The previous Pixydoll and Cozydoll sites were very similar in format and ordering style. She's sculpted a number of different heads, including a few for larger companies, but the ones she released herself tend to be pretty rare. (And her previous sites were taken down, so there's not much evidence there, either...)

And yes, the original Dino head was meant for an Volks SD13 body, although I personally use mine on an Volks SD body. (Basically -- SD < SD13 < SD17 as far as height and intended age.) This new Growth sculpt is meant to be what Dino would look like if he were older, hence the recommendation for using a taller, more mature body.

Mixing and matching companies can be weird at first, but with small "companies" (which are really more like "one or two people doing all the work") like Roserin, it's a necessity. There are tons of threads all over DoA with resin and body comparisons, tips on what goes with what, and other information.

I would guess that Roserin's Growth Dino head will probably work best with Volks normal skin SD13, SDGr, or SD17 boy bodies, but that's based on my experience with Pixydoll.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around one-man operations. I think IOS works the same way so it makes things tough when ordering periods and quantities of dolls are extremely limited.

I'm kind of surprised. Yuna closed her Cozydoll website down last month becuase of personal issues - it hadn't been around long before that. Now she's starting over again with a new name and website? Why go back to blog format when the new Cozydoll webiste had a much more user friendly shopping cart/check out system? There must be a reason behind it, but I don't know what. There was this one new head on the Cozydoll website that I kind of wanted - but figured he would be around for awhile, being a 'basic'. When the website suddenly shut down, I hoped it would be temporary and that thye'd be back. Now I have this feeling we won't ever be seeing the Cozydoll sculpts again. ><

 

Yeah, I'm not crazy about using her blog to order from but I went ahead and did it anyway. XD He's irresistible.

Outfit is confirmed to be a Roserin creation. They'll be on sale next week on her site for just 3 days. I'm considering getting it but Soom's got a limited outfit I like a lot better. XD Anyway, I got my Dino yesterday.



I contacted the person running Roserin to ask what body she had the head on, and she refused to tell me. :\ I'm pretty irked about it, since she wouldn't be losing any money by answering the question, when she's not selling bodies herself. But you're right, Valentine, it is a Volks SD17. I was able to Google it. ^^ That's not something I'm likely to find, so even though I love his hands, I'll probably go with a Doll Leaves body for him. They seem to be a really close resin match.

 

Do they have an english site?

 

Her blog is in both Korean and English. Her English is awful though. But I speak Korean so if there's something specific you can't make out, let me know and I can translate.

I thought I would never get a chance to get a Sevy, kinda very very happy I might be able to get him next week!!
I'm really not a fan of all the name changing for this artist, but I love her heads so much!

 

I just checked out their site. OMG Sevy is gorgeous!!!! I plan to order him next week
Wonder which body would be a good resin match for him.

 

I wonder if they match volks as well as crobidoll (since some of their heads were made by roserin) ?
Though I do not think they are made by the same company, it would be great :O!

It would be great if they match Crobi, I love their boy bodies! Is it possible to ask Roserin about resin match? How's their customer service/communication???

 

So, has anyone else ordered Sevy yet? I noticed he was on sale today. I think that's the most money I've ever paid for a blank head, but I've always wanted a Sevy (despite already having a Lance and DD Lance). I hope I can get a slot with the face-up artist I want once I get him! Now I need to decide what body to get...

They are pretty expensive... especially the face-uped one!!
But they are very amazing heads

 

I had trouble paying for a fullset tiny she had a month or so ago. I never did get it to work, so I didn't get the doll. This time, everything worked on the first try. And, yeah, $130 for a face-up seems high. Then again, it is a one-off; my Little Monica one-off Dyuke's face-up was $150 I believe. That Sevy face-up makes him look even more like Lance to me. I remember when Lance was first released how happy some people were, since Sevy was no longer available then. I think there was a post somewhere that showed the differences between the two sculpts, but I can't find it. Oh well. The face-up I'm getting for Sevy isn't going to be anything like my Lance face-up, so they won't look too similar.

Thank you! I have no idea why that didn't come up in my search. So, they are quite similar, but there are enough differences so they won't look like perfectly identical twins. I like that Sevy is slightly more masculine.

She's really cute! I love dolls with little frowns and kind of heavy-lidded eyes like that

I am rather tempted but I'm trying to stay strong and not divert from my doll plans. What do you guys think of this head?

WOW an update! Now this is how I prefer to start a Monday, with fantastic doll news. I must say, @St. James, you know me well. I'm not too keen on the faceup shown, but the naked head sculpt shows lots of potential in my eyes. She has such a short ordering window, going to have to ponder fast.

 

I want you to know @St. James that you are a horrible enabler. Although this means I need to get off my butt and finally sell the old version of Kana, since this will be her upgrade.

I'm starting to feel like this hobby is the endless hunt for bodies to pacify the floating head hordes.

Floating heads, ugh! It's so much worse when it's a doll you used to have completed, but then you tossed that one aside in favor of a new head. I have several that are waiting with no prospect of a body any time soon.

Ugh, why is this thread so dead and how am I somehow still the last post?! Anyone have updates on how their dolls are progressing from floating heads?

I am still on the hunt for a seemly elusive Volks SD13 body for my normal skin Lisa head.

Has anyone had luck matching the resin with other companies? I've finally sold the old version of my character the Lisa head is replacing. So I'm anxious to find a body so this girl can be with me again.

 

My guess is that there are just not many owners of these dolls here on DoA?!?
I'm regularly watching this thread though, however I have had my boy now for a couple of years, so I guess my information might not be of much help, since skin tones usually change in the course of the years and they often even vary from batch to batch.

For instance my Dino is on a Dollzone pink normal skin body as I liked the skinnier look for him. The match is perfect or at least good enough in my humble opinion. However, even DZ isn't that constant with their skin tones, so it might very well be, that it will not fit anymore these days.

 

It as been ages since I've been active on DoA or with BJDs in general so I am so out of it! I don't even remember what body my head has... Or if he still jas one at all!

It would be awesome to see some of the new bodies that vame out in the last few years compared to these heads... Must be one of them that matches.

 

Looks like a release of heads is happening again. According to the info posted here in News, this is the last batch of only heads to be released. It makes me wonder if the sculptor has been working on a body for some time, or if their focus has shifted. I'm very tempted to get vampire Sevy.
