Wally I love your Sage...those teeth! & wonderful kana faceup. I wanted a boy sage for so long.
Finally grabbed a more recent edition...here is my Fitz. I gave him a fur wig & have since changed his eyes. He has a bit of a Zombie look

OliveOil...your new vanilla wont have the new body will she? I hope someone can give us a review...but you liked the Holiday body, yes?

I'll be able to give a review and comparison with the old body as - and I hold this thread personally responsible for making me go look at the limiteds (Oliveoil in particular ) - I went and fell in love with the limited Beige. I had the same instant love I did with my limited Melody with a faceup by Rollingpumpkin, and I think they will go perfectly together.

lol, olivoil, they certainly do make pretty girls, but I love that my Sage is a girly dressing boy!!! I don't generally do well with tinies, and although I love the girl clothes, I knew I would be much more likely to fall in love with a tiny boy, as the only other Yo I have kept is a boy.

kayjay, congrats on your incoming, can't wait to see photos! I hold tonilaine personally responsible for my Sage, and several outfits (including an overpriced sold out limited set), but I'll be happy to hold this thread responsible if I buy any more of these lovely dolls or overpay for any more outfits (please post pics so I can make good on my threat)! I'm hoping to keep myself at one, with lots of outfits! (I know that's a ridiculous thing to say in this hobby, "one", but I really like the big bjds and I adore Rosenlied outfits, so I just might be able to pull it off!).

 

latedate, I love your Fitz. His face-up is really beautiful and the wig suits him. Kana did the face up on my Aura too! Can't wait to see the new dolls and the body comparisons. YAY!

 

Kate: Wow Fritz is looking good! No Vanilla will not have new body. RL will not be offering the new body separately but will be offered on the basics soon.
I loved the Holiday body. It had a nice feel and posed great.

Sorry Kayjay! It amazes me the Limiteds are still available. It makes it great for us. I noticed Wednesday Child Daisy is still available. She is so pretty.

I want a Monday's child. Anyone talk about those much on this forum? Anything I should know about them before I jump off a cliff into a new size?

 

Hi tonilaine, I haven't posted in here as much lately, though we have sooo many RL in the house. We did TC for a while as Yo was a comfortable size for us, but then we got our first Monday, and she was so small and adorable, it became an absolute favorite size. They are so adorable next to 'big sister and brother' Tuesday Child, but on their own they are magnificently mischievous, I love their little marauding ways. I've mostly stuck with RL MC clothing so I can't speak of clothing from other companies, but I can't recommend them enough, they are just bursting with personality.

Let me know if you have specific questions, I can try to answer them.

I only collect Monday's Child, they can share clothes with Lati Yellow and I only buy wig from Rosenlied for them. I always order white skin only but I find the newer dolls are more whiter or maybe my older one has changed color a bit not sure. I don't display my dolls under sunlight and display in cabinet only. Also spend 60% of time in box cause I rotate my dolls.

 

Heidipay, Thanks for your thoughts on Monday's Child. Marauding and mischievous is a good way to describe them. LOL They are all so darn cute it's hard to choose. I'm leaning toward Pudding. I appreciate your great recommendation! Post a pic if you get a chance.

 

Oh tonilaine, order one already!!! LOL, you're not going to rest until you do, so get your order in before we go on our world travels, and she'll be close to being home by the time we get back! PLEASE do not let me buy one, you know I don't like bjds that tiny, and you'll end up with two if you let me order one, but by all means, get your girl ordered!
Would love it if the rest of the thread members would post their Monday's Child pics so we can get tonilaine to order hers!!!

In the meantime, I am loving my little Sage boy and wish I had more time to play with him!

I use 10mm for Monday and 12mm for Tuesday.

she is the next rosen lied doll coming to live here that sculpt is just adorable!

 

Gee this place is really chatty again. When I was buying all my Rosen Lied it was so active but that was probably a couple of years ago. I went crazy buying Tuesdays. Boys and girls. I do have 3 Mondays and I got my first Monday because of two limited outfits for Monday. Two of the Mondays have those separate limited outfits on, a boy and a girl, and the other limited has the limited outfit she came in. I only buy limited. I feel they are a good deal and you get the limited faceups which have more character in my opinion. You can get good basic faceups but there is no guarantee where as the limited faceups are what you see. I also have one limited Wednesday I love. Right now he is wearing a different limited outfit. He has a very vivid faceup. I tend to go for the darker faceups which Appeal to me more.

I didn't know about the new body but have now looked at it and I don't like it. It is too chunky. I don't know if my clothes would fit it. I am not crazy about the holiday doll so that is why I may not like it. I just looked at the limited Holiday Dolls before I made any more comments and some are really cute so I think I may have gotten one if they had been available in my Rosen Lied buying days. I have kind of moved on to thinner small older types of dolls. I have two of the resin Enchanted Dolls by Marina Bychkova and one resin Popovy Cuckoo doll. These dolls are more fashion looking where as the Rosen Lied are cutsie. I was even thinking of selling my Rosen Lied but then I looked at them and I can't. There are two I maybe could but the others just said no, they are not leaving. I think I need to play with them and change their clothes. About half of them have different limited outfits on so maybe I will put them back to their original outfits. My spare bedroom has all those boxes under the bed. I hate all those boxes but you need to save them for possible resale. One boy doll became a girl but he is changing back. I did change eyes in a few of them. I made them smaller but they are still Rosen Lied eyes. I love the Rosen Lied eyes. I find Rosen Lied likes to put big eyes in their dolls and to me it makes them look buggy. I am on my iPad right now but when I get on my computer I will post pictures. I tend to not do that much because it takes so long with having to out them on Flickr. I wish I could do it directly. I also get annoyed when I take the time to put pictures on and then they get deleted because I have posted too many so I rarely post pictures any more. I haven't figured out how to do a gallery. I am from the generation did not grow up with computers although I now know more about computers than my kids do. I had to learn because I got tired of the eye rolling and being told they just showed me something. Now they come to me. Maybe this afternoon I will get pictures here. I know people love looking at the pictures. I sure did. I have enjoyed seeing the recent pictures too.

 

Monday's child are adorable and fit into your hand really well... I don't mind the bigger eyes on the Mondays, but I usually change out my Tuesdays to smaller.

 

I used to have three, but now I have Melon and Apple. (I love their names-haha) They are sweet little chunky dolls...some of my favorites of the little bjds. (Shashy, I'm with you...I usually buy only the limited versions, though I've been surprised at how good some basic face ups have looked. Maybe it is just the luck of the draw.)

ocean-girl, love your Melon too! So much expression! Must have one of these. Just saw there was going to be a new limited basic Mocha released on May15th. Hmmm!

 

I just read that the basic TC will have the new body style after the 15th. I like the old style but the new one looks good, too.

Your Melon is beautiful. Lately RL has offered lovely painted basic. My Pansy's basic face up is very much like a limited one...

 

I love Rosenlied's basic faceups, they're 'younger' to me as they're more natural, unless it's a display doll who will wear frilly clothes and then I love the white skin, limited ones. Heck, I love Rosenlied

My favourite size is 16cm but have yet to buy a Monday child doll. I must rectify that soon, my favourites are Melon and Apple too, Oceangirl (love your two girls).

 

I think the basic faceups are very nice. I have to be more careful with the LE faceups as some are a bit dramatic for me.

 

My first picture (In the Winnie the Pooh shirt) is an LE Mint. Oliveoil, your Pansy's basic face up is amazing! Wow! I love the vivid face ups of the limiteds...and the details in the eyebrows, etc...but I can understand loving the basics too. Im in the category too of...oh...I just love Rosenlied. No matter what.

When I measured mine a few years ago for the size chart, her foot was 2.5cm x 1.3cm.

 

Thanks, clochette! I ran across some really cute shoes, but I was afraid they would be too narrow....and sadly, they are!

thank you ladies, I used to have more Monday's but bec. of money issue before I had to sale some. Head molds are Cocoa, Chico, Apple, Lemon, Cinnamon, Cherry, Pudding and Mango, not in any particular order. I manage to have some cash to buy the current Ltd Monday's Child Ginger. I could never get the limited before bec. they disappear soo fast, now I am getting the chance to buy ltd version. Well if I have money. LOL

I love them alot because they remind me of antique/porcelain dolls I used to admire when I was little (so dress them with bonnets/old style). Its hard to sale these girls when I need money so I sold my Lati Yellow instead LOL

 

Was hoping you'd list the names in order........which one is Pudding?

Don't buy Rosenlied shoes for Monday Child. They do not fit.
I use Pukifee/Lati Yellow size from Ebay. You have to be careful not to get the smaller size Pukifee shoe. Cherry is modeling shoes from RubyRed Galleria...

You are welcome. The shoes modeled on Tiny Delf and Lati are too small for Monday Child.

The Lati Yellow's head looks bigger than Rosen Lied Monday Child's...

I wonder if Tiny Delf from Luts will look O.K and can share stuffs with them.

 

Vienni - Lati's heads vary but most, if not all, are bigger than the RL. However, most wigs I have would have been ok with a headcap on her, but the one she's wearing is a RL one and doesn't fit Lati. But she shares clothes no problem although with the tights most of the shoes I have didn't fit, but they're ok without the tights.

I m thinking of getting my first 1/6 size. I see many outfits out there ar made
For yoSD so I want one that have similar size so clothes will fit

I see everyone commenting that they prefer getting the limiteds, is the makeup for the basics really bad? Also are the basics available all year round or only during certain periods?

 

Basics are available all the time. Limited faceups are often more vibrant and 'painted' whereas basic are simpler and more neutral colours, but all Rosenlied faceups are good, and the customer service is excellent.

 

Do you mean comparison with the Volks YoSd? I don't have a comparison, but any YoSd size clothing will fit the Tuesday body, they're very similar. Rosenlied Tuesday is a 'YoSd' size doll.

 

I see! I guess I feel like I can have more time to consider if I want to get Basic Chocolat soon, I'm not very fond of most of the vibrant face-ups the limiteds have and the clothes are mostly too over-the-top for me (I'm weird I know). Thank you so much for the reply

 

I think a lot of Rosenlied collectors like the vibrant faceups and frilly outfits, but I personally think if you want 'normal' clothes and your dolls to look like cute children, the basic faceups are absolutely fine and you should be very happy with your Chocolat
