I decided to make a robot girl. I love robots and the transformers movie inspired me a lot. I made a bot in 3d studio max and then I wanted to make a girl bot, so I started work on her. I don't know if I want to call her Roxy Rocketgirl or Machina. X3 The lines are where I will be putting cut lines for her torso.

Here she is with a mock up of what her head will look like. I did try the wig on over her ear buds and wigs will still fit fine over them. I may make a totally human head as well, but I'm not sure yet. And yes that's a key hole in her back. <3

She'll have double jointed arms, knees and possibly a mobility hip joint if I can figure it out. I want her to be able to draw her knees up to her chest. She'll probably have heeled feet as well as regular feet. But I may end up making a second set of lower legs to accommodate bot-heels.

    2. Fantastic. I look forward to seeing her cut up and put back together. ;)

    3. Wow, she's wounderful. I can't wait to see her progress....

Is she made of paper clay? *Out of curiosity. .x. *

    4. She's gorgeous so far. I love the idea of the key hole.

    5. good work!

    6. She looks lovely. :aheartbea

    7. Logodae: I got her ear buds in this morning and about to prime her face and head so I can start putting on her pieces! I'm excited!

ImpmonsTrueTamer101: Thanks! Yes she is paperclay. :3 I prefer paperclay because it's so easy to sand and shape.

emiey: thanks! I kind of want to have her come with a key, but I don't know where I could get keys like that on a regular basis! I know the scrapbooking stores have them, but I'm always afraid that they're going to run out.

      Alita82: Thank you!

      Sola: thanks!

    8. Oh, nice!! I love love love her face!! <3

    9. She looks AWESOME!!! :aheartbea

    10. AMAZING! Can't wait to see her complete! :D

    11. Go you! It's been my project for SUCH a long time to mod a doll into a cyborg. I've just been too afraid to get started. I can't wait to see this finished! :)

    12. She's gorgeous! I absolutely cannot wait to see more of your work on her! I love robots as well and your sculpt looks SO very promising!

As for the keyhole, what if you cast your own? That would do away with the fear of stores running out, hehe. It'd be on the same lines as casting jewelry unless you chose to cast it out of resin as well and coat it with a silver of some sort. All thoughts and maybe it'll help you come up with an option that works for you! ^_^

    13. If you ever make a version of her available for sale, I would LOVE to have one. She's got a wonderful face!

    14. Wow this is going to be totally awesome once finished :D

    15. That looks great!!
I am curious what she will look like when she is finished.

    16. A wonderful start. I never thought of a robot bjd but I'm glad you did and I can't wait to see how turns out.

    17. WOW! You definitely have the skill!

    18. ...secret Batchix stalker:D :D :D

your work is so beautiful ...and so different
      ...I like different

    19. Yay new Batchix doll! At first I was like "ooh she's pretty" then I saw she was destined to be a robot and thought "hot damn that will be a cool doll!"

I so can't wait to see this one finished, are you going to cast her with say a metallic powder filler or pearl pigment to give her a cyber tone in the resin?

    20. Ooh, I look forward to seeing more of this one. I'm planning to mod a doll to be automated, but seeing one created from the ground up is wonderful!

    21. Whoa, awesome doll so far. Props for unique design.

    22. Wonderful idea!
I love your head design very much.

    23. What a wonderful idea. I would really love to see what it looks like when it's done. I've never seen something like this :)

    24. Wow, you've really out done your self this time. I can't wait to see more, she's amazing.

    25. How totally awesome! I am currently in possession of a l-bi dozing plate which I want to make to look like an android, but if this turns out I may have to commission you if it's possible XD

    26. Nice to see you back, Batchix!

The girl doll is a clever idea, to be sure. It will be fun to see her cast.

Do you think you'll be making the big guy dolls any more, or are you just doing new models now?

    27. Love seeing pics of your robot girl! Are those lines going to be sort of like plate lines (like she's made of pieces of metal)? This is so cool, I'll have to watch her progress!!

    28. Thanks everyone!

We had a terrible scare yesterday. The fan fell out of the window on her poor face. It crushed her chin, but I was able to rebuild it. Her face is a little chubbier now. I'll hopefully be able to put up some pictures of her primed head soon, but priming over the foam stuff I used for her hat part is taking a while. :3

I do plan on making her for sale after she's finished... and yes, lolipop, I have even already bought the silver stuff for making her silver! XD Actually she'll just look irredescent silver, not true silver. I might get the true silver coating sometime too. It's sort of expensive is all. I'm trying to cast and not have so many bubbles and rough seam lines. We'll see how that goes.

TasiaChiba~ I thought about making a key... but I don't know yet. we'll see. X3 I like delicate filigree keys.

Bunnydots~ Actually I have a new head coming out here shortly and I just sculpted the big guy new feet. :3 So yeah, I'll totally be making the big guys as well.

Dollist~ Yup, the lines will be plate lines. I already cut into her face before i primed it to make the lines... so whenever I can get some photos up you'll see. :D

    29. Whoa, how unique!!! I can't wait to see more of her!

    30. I'm totally with you there on delicate filigrees, Batchix! :love homg, totally! =dweeb= Well, you could always work a little on one to see if it comes out how you like. If not, back to the drawing board then, I suppose! :sweat

And... smashed chins are no good... O___O Of course, I've delt with plenty of smashed noses... ehhhehhhh....

Can't wait to see those updated pictures! She's grand so far!

    31. she is adorable! I can't wait to see more of her completed. I love robots. :'D *points to username*

    32. I can't wait to see the progress and finished product of this!! I love robots so much - and I really like the style from what I've seen so far ^_^

Its actually something I've thought about doing, but I don't have nowhere near the skills needed to accomplish this! I'm looking forward to seeing the work you do :)

    33. I thought she might have been Paperclay. It is love. =w=

Thank goodness you were able to fix the chin. XD

Ohhh, she's going to be silver? How cool. Are you planning on making a male robo doll in the future? He might make a very good StarScream. >3>

    34. O______O

Congrats. You've hit on the one thing that assures a dolly going on my wishlist.

      CLOCKWORK.

      <3 She's AWESOME.

    35. Good to know. I still want a drow (now that I know what it is from you and my husband). Maybe we can chat down the road when you get turned around and I get some money again.

    36. TasiaChiba: If her nose or upper lip was smashed i'd have been heart broken. i worked for a whole day just on her nose and lips! @D@

paperbot: awesome~~ I love robots. :3 I grew up on transformers, star wars and voltron. XD

ImpmonsTrueTamer101: If I could have a giant ball-jointed optimus prime I'd be so happy. XD Alas, just as i cannot easily draw transformers I cannot easily hand sculpt them either since they have so many flat planes! Maybe I can weasel a kit basher into one someday. Till then, I'll just have to 3d model them. I did Starscream's head from Hearts of Steel: http://batchix.deviantart.com/art/StarScream-hearts-of-steel-1-61727488 and I also made my own character, brialnine, who I'd LOVE to have a doll of. ;~; MANG~~ I may make one yet. who knows. XD

bunnydots: Just let me know! :3

Thanks for all the awesome comments and encouragement. It makes me want to work on her all the more. I was able to do some experiments with some new casting techniques and it worked out awesome. I am so pleased. Her head is taking longer to prime than I thought it would too! And I'm not so sure how to do the mobility joint anymore. XD I had a great idea and then realized it wouldn't work. So back to the drawing board. I plan on putting in cut lines into her secondary knee and elbow joints as well and possibly casting them in a different color.

    37. So will she be for sale ? Cause I think I need her ! She'd make the perfect steampunk doll !

    38. Yesterday when I came into the thread, the pictures wouldn't load. I'm glad they've loaded now cause she's just awesome. I'm excited to see how she'll look finished. You could do so many interesting things with her painting-wise, I'm sure.

    39. She's beautiful! I'd buy one if I could.... but sadly I'm broke :...(

    40. Neat! I'm very interested to see how she turns out!
      ^^

    41. I'm with everyone else by now. She looks gorgeous and I can't wait to see more progress photos. I do hope you plan on selling casts of her!

    42. Your latest doll has a truly beautiful face, and the modifications to robot look really interesting.

I will follow her progress with interest.

    43. Oh, wow. She looks... -amazing-. And I love the robot business. It's just too cool. I'm keep an eye with rapt interest.

    44. Ugh! It's a good thing, then! The face I worked on my dad caused the nose to smash. I'd already repaired it twice from other people smooshing it... ^^;; Even now, after safely being baked, it has altered from the original cute cute nose... =sigh= Ah well! Can't win them all, heh.

Anyway, waiting ohhhhh so patiently for more update pictures! :aheartbea

    45. More pictures!

She can stand now! I just finished her mobility joint on her hips as well, but until they're totally dry I can't post pictures. :3 Her upper torso is also finished and ready for priming. I also finished her other hand, so hopefully in a day or so we'll have hands done for her. I usually bake my paperclay at 250 in 15 minute intervals to make it dry faster(it shortens drying time by a day to two days!), but the way I make hands I use hot glue to put the fingers on and obviously that won't do for the oven. XD

clayfaery: She will! Hopefully she'll be done around my birthday in september. :3

Bunnii: thank you sweetie! My host is having issues, so I put stuff on flickr for now. :/

Starlight_Mask: Awww, I know the feeling. I'm pretty tight right now. :/

      Distractus: thanks!

o01101011: Thank you! I do plan on selling casts when I've finished. :3

Ann in CT: thank you! I'm very pleased with her face. It's hard for me to make cute or pretty faces because I like strong features. I think that's why most of my boy dolls don't appeal to a lot of people... but I think I managed to keep her soft. :3 Even though she's a robot she can still wear wigs. My husband thinks she looks like someone out of Tron!

      lady_chance: Thank you!

TasiaChiba: Oh that's awful! I've had that happen before... it's so heart breaking when no matter how many times you try to fix it, it's never quite the same. I was so worried that would happen with the robot girl's face, but it seems to be fine.

    46. All I can say is wow, breathtakingly beautiful!!!

    47. Your girl looks fantastic so far. That serene expression really puts to mind Metropolis, which is the Lady Robot to end all Lady Robots in my opinion. I'm curious to see what you do with the feet, that's always such an issue with androids, you can be creative or simple and either can make or break the entire concept, you know? Also I'm loving this whole idea because I'm working on a robotic steam punk penguin for a gallery show and while doing it I was imagining how much fun a doll in that style would be (like I have the time though...).

      Can't wait to see more!

    48. She looks great! You did a particularly beautiful job on her little legs... especially her knees.

    49. She looks awsome.

    50. Edit Double Post T_T DoA is being evil today!

    51. I really like the knee joints. And her head looks wicked cool.

    52. Wow she's really pretty so far and I like the shape of her body. Also her head is really nice cause the shaping is unusual but it still looks really pretty.

    53. Hey ! What an original project !!!
And you work fast, "bravo" !!

    54. wow! her body is really well done! I like her!

I noticed many of you use the expression bravo very often! :love

    55. Oh wow, she looks excellent. =D
Such a nice figure and the silver paint is great. I can't wait until you cast her.

I was actually going to sculpt my own StarScream, but once I got into it I decided I'd buy Husky for him and make the doll I was sculpting an OC. I have no idea what Prime would be. O.O Sabik maybe...? XD
Ohhh, that's pretty good. You can do 3D, I'm jelous. I know what you mean though, drawing most mechs is HARD. >_<

    56. yep really really greeeeat!!!
      She is Gorgeous!
      Wonderfull!!!
      nyoooo:o

    57. What do you want... I'm french !!

    58. My goodness, you're at it again! You never cease to amaze me with your sculpts and your creativity.
Just wanted to let you know, your Zero doll was very well received at BJDC2007 in Austin this last weekend. Lots of folks wanted to hold him, and everyone was VERY impressed. ^_^ I need to send you pics!

    59. I love how this girl is coming along, and her face is really great. Can't wait to see more!

    60. This is such a cool concept! I love her leg shape and knee joint, by the way.
I'm curious how she'll turn out with the headknobs and all in silver :)
