Ringdoll New 1/4 Body

It's gonna be hard to find clothes that fits with them, I suppose...

Oh, may I ask if this body is anatomically correct? I feel pretty weird when I see muscular doll bodies like this but I don't really know why.

 

I want one, definitely. I just ordered my first 1/4 doll, and if I like that scale, I can put these guys in my future plans. But I only get fullsets from Ringdoll. It Is better for me, no worries about clothing, shoes, wigs, face-up... and my big boys from Ringdoll are with the same things they came with, so I wouldn't be worry about clothing for this size, I probably will let them with the same things Ringdoll put in the fullest and if I'm inspired enought I can make them clothes myself.

About the new body, I'm curious, because the 75 version made me want to update one of my boys' bodies, but I wasn't all for it because it wasn't necessary, but the 1/4 version could tell me how good it could be. Maybe I can get the 75 version for 2 of my floating heads

 

No, it's a girl from Gem of Doll. But it will be my first small doll and my first girl. I wasn’t interested in the 1/4 scale mature boys (generally, a few brands started releasing that scale), but when Ringdoll released Zhou Yu 1/4, I seriously reconsidered. Because that original Zhou Yu set was one of my frustrated dreams a few years ago when I started in the hobby, I missed its first sale, and then the re-releases were limited to 3 slots and sold out in a few hours. I was very glad that they had recreated the same original set and in 1/4 scale, and the full set is not a limited sale at the moment, which calms me down, so I take my time to get it. And who knows, maybe they’ll release another boy in that scale that drives me crazy, more than Zhou Yu.

If they were going to recreate old models, I would also like Xun Yu (original set/hanfu) and Cryan (pink kimono version), although I have no idea if Cryan is discontinued in its entirety or just its full set.

 

It's nice to see a mature body in this size, would love to see this become a trend. I love the mature look of SD size and yet I like the smaller dolls, so anytime makers will do rugged grown men at that size I am happy to see it. I still have the Lati Blue body from long ago, which was muscular and nice and grown up for MSD.

 

I found out about this male doll body yesterday, I love it so much. This is the kind of mature male MSD I have been waiting for.

There’s only one male doll in my collection, technically, but I never bonded with him or finished working on him. He’s an SD13 Volks, and I love Volks so it’s weird that I didn’t like this doll. I think I’m realizing that I just don’t like younger looking (either boyish or teenage) types of male dolls.

There’s been plenty of muscular male dolls like this in SD size or bigger, but they have often been really expensive and so I’ve never gotten one.

Really love how this is an MSD size though, and seems like he’s closer to 50 cm? I like how he would scale well with my other MSD girls.

I’ve had a rule for myself that I can’t get another male doll until I sell the one I have, but if I can manage that, I would love to add Anubis to my collection. The body is great and I really love that face sculpt too.

 

I really like this scale, and I am so excited that some of the companies have started releasing "shrunk down" versions of the bigger dolls I have coveted for so long! I got Zhou Yu on the "RTFbody01" and it's very nice - I was hoping he would fit in with my other mature minies - Raccoondoll, Iplehouse FID and Sartoriaj, but while the body fits right in, the head was quite a bit smaller. However, I heard from others that the other sculps have slightly larger heads, so I would still consider getting another Ringdoll in the future - I really hope they release Dracula , especially if it's a fullset!!!

I ended up keeping the body and ordering him a Telesthesia and Dragon head, which is another company releasing "shrunk down" 1/4 versions of their big dolls. Loongsoul have just done the same, and so has Dikadoll, so it's very exciting for those (like me) who prefer the mature 1/4 size!!! (I just don't have room in my tiny house for all the big SD dolls!!!)

Ha, if you're asking if he has, uhhh, proper boy bits, then yes he does. They are strung on, no less, so they're moveable, which is very weird?! Some of the other companies I mentioned above have the detachable bits with the choice of a few styles, just like the SD versions, which is even more hilarious!!!

For clothing fit - they are similar to Iplehouse and Sartoriaj, both of which sell a range of clothes, however they are much smaller in the waist, so pants would probably need a belt I suppose, and weirdly enough their arms are shorter, so long sleeves might be a bit long and need turning up at the cuff or altering.

Here's a comparison picture of my three boys in that scale: FID on the model body on the left, Ringdoll Zhou Yu on the "01" body in the middle, Sartoriaj on the Athletic body on the right. As you can see, he's a bit slimmer than the others, but otherwise quite similar! Event he head size isn't so bad, but it bothered me a bit so I decided to get him a new one!

And of course, if he needed a lady friend, the Sartoriaj, Iplehouse FID or Raccoondoll ladies also look really nice with him!

 

Sorry for the double post but Baldwin IV Jerusalem has been released in 1/4 scale, complete with the amazing armour!!! I am very tempted! Anyone else considering getting him?

 

Baldwin is spectacular, and if I was gonna get him, I'd absolutely be going for this 1/4 version! I'm not going to— just gonna admire from afar— but I'm delighted to see "shrunken" versions of the 1/3 dolls and I'm hoping they'll keep doing this. Been very tempted by Anubis and Zhao Yun, but what I'm really wanting is Bast!

That, and I'd love to see if they'd dare to do Frankenstein on this scale. Probably still won't get him, but it's not out of the question, since I'm much more likely to take a risk on something that isn't typically "my aesthetic" if it's on a smaller scale and at a lower price. I'm guessing he would be a bit too complex, but how cool would that be?

 

Oh I would be in trouble if they made Frankenstein at 1/4 scale! He would be an absolute buy!!

 

Hmm, not really sure yet, as my Ringdoll has just been sitting on a shelf all this time - I decided I wasn't that keen on his head so I bought him a Telesthesia and Dragon one instead, except it hasn't arrived yet (long wait time). SO the poor headless body has just been sitting around, I haven't really done anything with him! So I have no insight at all, sorry!!!

I will say, despite how much I love the aesthetics, the Iplehouse FID is my LEAST favorite - his feet just will not stay on his ankles (you can even see in the picture they aren't sitting right!) and if you put shoes on him with even a slight, tiny heel, his knees buckle and he won't stand up straight. So - lovely looking dolls, don't love the posing! Beyond that - I'm pretty bad at posing my dolls, mainly they just sit or stand around and model nice clothes, so I don't really know, sorry!!!

I'm still trying to decide on whether to get Baldwin or not - I'm liking him more and more! But there's other releases elsewhere this month I'm waiting to hear about, so it's hard to decide!

Yes, they are quite different from regular MSD, more like a "fun size" SD! I hope you like him!!!

I'm still dithering myself - I'm almost sure I'm going to get him, but can't decide on the extras. I'd be wanting the fullset, don't really want the mask, and am trying to decide on the sword and the silver hands - both? Or just the sword?

I also realised he would (hopefully) work as a previous character of mine - who I still have the doll of - but a version to fit in with my fashion size crew, who now make up the majority of my collection. Once I thought of that idea, I became VERY keen on getting him!

 

I got the fullset with all the extras!!! the price seemed worth it for me tbh, i bought off ACBJD. I say get the sword if you plan to pose him w the sword but if you dont care that much, the armoured hands do their job. I LOVE the mask personally so i really wanted that

 

I went ahead and ordered him!!! In the end I got the fullset and the extra hands, but not the sword, after I remembered I already owned swords in that size that I never remember to use! I’m very excited to get him - I just wish it wasn’t such a long wait!!! Well, that’s something to look forward to at least!

 

I know right? Waiting is always the hardest part, I'm excited to get him too

 

Does anyone else have one of the 1/4 boys? Not to be like "I'd love to see them naked" but I would like to see the proportions of their bodies and heads!
