Aesthetics Ringdoll mechanical arm blushing

Dec 20, 2016

    1. I have been working on this arm, thinking to take it a little more steampunk but I want some opinions on what I can do.

I've already blushed it into a copper range instead of the steel silver it was.

    2. Okay I don't know how to help you but they are amaaaazing!:D

    3. The blushing on those arms is amazing! What kind of character are you making? Are they a tidy person who cares about the upkeep of their arm? Or are they a more relaxed about it and let some parts get dirty or rust over or something? Maybe you could try making the arm look like old metal if the character is older! In any case, you've done a wonderful job!

    4. This is amazing! Its so hard to get detail into metallics and you nailed it! :D

    5. For steam punk looks useless gears and leather straps are excellent additions -- they make things look more old-timey and less sleek and refined. Also consider adding some more obvious brass accents.

This is only if you really want to push the steam punk aspect though. It already looks so amazing!

    6. Thank you!
I think I need to make some metal scaring and scrapes to make it older. Thanks.

      Thank you!
I have some old watch parts and some brass metallic pigment I may try out. Thank you.

    7. Progress on the arm.

    8. Looks fantastic!!

    9. Thank you!

    10. I like the addition of the scratches to make it look older/more worn, and the gears to make it more steampunk. One thing you might consider, in affixing it to the rest of the doll, is the mode of affixing--how does the character attach this arm to the body? Someone above mentioned leather, so perhaps a leather gauntlet or bracer would develop the design even more? Anyway, I can't wait to see it in place :)

    11. Thank you llgarou, Next project is the work on the proper/appropriate attachment. I have to make sure it will move with the elbow and not impede mobility.

    12. I have a project journal stated for this and will add the attachment work HERE.
