Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #6

Yes, they certainly will be a problem, which is sort of how the Dollshe paddle hands came about. I have a primitive solution; use a mid-sized s-hook in place of the hands (I actually use a cup hook with the screw end cut off so it doesn't snag the fabric) when changing then slip the hands s-hook back on.

The White King has been released! Anyone plan on getting him?

 

Initially, I was so excited for the White King's release but now, I don't know what to feel (or do). I don't really like his face and his attire. Although, the rest of him is really cool. I will wait and see if I like Judge.

Plus, I was recently reminded of the action figure release and I'm really gunning for the mini K. I have the 70cm version but I'm finding he's too big for me so I might sell him and get the smaller version instead. I'm really excited for that!

Yeah, I don't have any pressing need to get him. He's pretty but not my style I guess. It think it's the lips that are throwing me off. It was the same for the Red King, I didn't really like the open mouth.

@angelie23 Ack! Is it the fullset priest K? I've been wanting one forever. But of course I just placed a doll order and I'm broke now! Dang it. That action Figure K might be the way to go. Anyone know a price?

Awesome! I look forward to it. And yeah, you do draw him with a sad/anxious look a lot so it will be cool to see it in doll form!!

 

@Dark Angel @VampireAngel13 they said action figure K would be in the $100-200 range which is pretty wide range but at least it is a reasonable range.

 

I think it was just the base coat on the actual resin parts since the other was gray. The red and white kings were based on one color range but I'm hoping for multiple colors for the Judge.

 

@Dark Angel Yup, it's the full set K but I wiped the face-up (I just didn't like it) and some other head took over his body. I can't have two 70cm guys around, one big guy is enough for me. So one of them has to go and I was more attached to my IOS Stille head than my Ringdoll K head. I may sell the K head in the future after I've secured a mini K.

 

I'm just curious, what body does the Fullset Priest K come on? RGM03?

 

Figures. They really seem to like putting their fullsets on the RGM03 body. Kind of a bummer for the people that just want the clothes since it's such a big body.

I really would like to blush the rest of him to get him finished, but on the other hand I'd also really like to read for my exams. I fell asleep today at the lecture and woke up as my head hit my shoulder. I better not do that if I ever get to be anyones lawyer lol

Finally found some eyes that I like in Eros.



They're 14mm from Painted Wings. They have purple on one side of the eye and blue on the other. And they are sparkly!

 

Eeeeee I want that mini K so badly! I'm still planning on getting a K head for one of my vampires, but a smol priest K would be awesome to.

A late thank you to all of you! Milon will be a prisoner of his box for a while now, since I kinda started nanowrimo two weeks ahead.

 

@VampireAngel13 in fact Milon is a part of my novel trilogy I've worked on for almost 3 years. He's wearing a mask though and his face and name won't be revealed until the beginning of the 2nd book. I'm afraid that "knowing" him too well as a doll character will indeed distract me so that I will accidentally reveal too much of him in the first book. He appears three times if I got it right. He's just simply referred to as Full Moon or the Lord of the Masks until the 2nd book.

I've actually been thinking that maybe I should craft him a little mask... no. Work. Don't. Get. Distracted.

 

But, @VampireAngel13 'we' know he is there, lol.

Question for you guys: I found a post from late last year that Mint on Card was downsizing and dropping Ringdoll from their represented companies, but when I went to MoC's website I saw that they still had Ringdoll listed. What's the deal there?

 

They have a few in stock items from Ringdoll, so they didn't get rid of it. Actually, as far as I can tell, they didn't get rid of any of the companies. But they don't order from them anymore.

very confusing about MOC. they just had preorders with 2 companies. I forget now which ones. so, they're still selling dolls, just not as often.

if there's something you want ordered, send them an email. they're very nice.

 

They still order from 3 companies I think. Dollzone, Aimerai and another that starts with an "A". I think...

 

MOC news states that they will be an in-stock only store after September 2017 so they may order from the companies they already have listed. ??

 

The workers have had some personal/family health issues and stuff, so they have lost employees. Last I heard, they still planned on running MOC but it does kind of feel like they are slowly phasing out. Such a shame but I guess it can't be helped.

 

So I have this grandmother who is fairly new to computers etc. She got a printer this year and prints out literally every picture we grandchildren send her. Sooo I went to visit her and she had a topless photo of my Milon (K) on her fridge door.

K is destined to be a killer. Poor guy. He just has that... ignorant and kind of depressed expression that fits characters who are "broken" on the inside. He's got the face of a cold-blooded person, and to me it somehow says "I have killed before and I do not care if I'll have to do that again." I think it, despite the lack of strong expression, might be the most emotionally powerful one of all Ringdoll grown dolls I have ever seen.

Nowadays my Milon doesn't kill himself, he has subordinates to take care of that. He has upgraded his K-ness to a whole new level. Lol.

 

Aalon is a demon and so he falls into the "possibly a murderer" category no matter how hard he wants to deny the title.

 

Oh my goodness! I am in love with the Judge, his face is wonderful especially his ears.

So many dolls this month..I love Judge's face..the white King was nice too.

 

I'm happy (or my wallet is!!) to say that I don't need the Judge. Whew... I will be happy enough to enjoy his beauty through all of you! (SteamWitch in particular!) But his hands... with those claws... now that is tempting. And I do hope RD does more elf ears on future models.

 

Oh my gosh y'all did no one order the Kar98k, DiYue SP, Senkai or White King? Looks like the waiting room died sometime in August.
Did the Red King armor packing fail hurt Ringdoll?

 

I admit that it does make me hesitate. I'd be so upset if my expensive fullset doll came with damaged items. But the main reason is that none of the new dolls have "grabbed" me. My favorite is the Red King but I won't be getting one.

Anyone order the White King?

 

The Red King stuff also has a chilling effect on my interest in buying these crazy complex full sets Ringdoll is doing. I really like the White King, except his face, kinda meh on that. If he looked like K then the Red King packing fail would be the main reason I'm not buying. While I really like the armor, not loving the face,the price and the prior packing fail combine to leave my money firmly in my account.
