Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #10

Mar 12, 2025

    1. That was one of the things that absolutely put me off doing anything crafty back when I lived with my parents, the lack of space and the fact it took longer to set up and pack down than actually do the work. The last few years living in my own home with a dedicated crafting space have been like a dream come true! It's so nice being able to just sit down, work on something and then be able to come and go from that project whenever I please (or when time and health allows).

      • x 3
    2. While I don't have a dedicated craft space, I can and do leave on-the-go projects sitting on my kitchen table for days or even weeks at a time. The end table on one side of the couch frequently has my sewing project(s) on it and fabric that's been ironed and is awaiting cutting usually is draped over one of the kitchen chairs and sometimes the back of the couch if it's a really large piece.

I had some pattern pieces that I was using on the floor by the kitchen table (I cut my fabric on the floor as the table is often occupied by other things and feels awkward to cut on). I had to move them after a day or so only because my cat kept lying on them. He wasn't disturbing/wrecking them in any way but the dirty looks I got when I moved him off the papers and the sheer volume of cat hair were too much for me to comfortably deal with on a constant basis.

      • x 3
    3. Yeah I'm still in the position of living at home, but I look forward to the future when I'll have my own dedicated space!

    4. Congratulations. He is going to be amazing. The newer bodies are so much larger and heavier than the old ones. I only had RGM1 bodies on my older RD boys and was surprised by how solid the RGM5 body is.

Baldwin made it home yesterday and after dressing another big guy my muscles are feeling it. I needed an extra pair of hands to hold him when I changed his hands and even to pull the hook up for his head. When the armor is on I can't fit my finger through the 0 ring so I needed pliers to grab it. He is now dressed, but I have no idea where he will fit. I am going to pull all my bjds out and try to rearrange to fit him in a cabinet. I need him safe as my new rescue husky thinks they would make good chew toys!

    5. OMG love baldwin, if i was around when he was avail i wouldve gotten his 1/3 size, but i did end up getting his 1/4 size!! My first mature MSD so itll be fun. Back to big Frankenstein tho- oh man am I scared about his size lollll but also he is gonna be BEAUTIFUL!!!!. What stand do you use for such big and heavy dolls like this? I dont own any and would like to be prepared for when he comes!

      • x 2
    6. omg i just ordered the same thing (1/4 anubis) after looking at it on the site every day for a month although i wish i could afford the original size one. i couldn't find any unboxings for this specific one so if you could take some pics or anything when he arrives please tag me :abow:

    7. Forgot to share The Queen here...but look...His Royal Sapphireness! So shiny! So spidery! So very heavy! (he does have his tail inserted but it's difficult to get the stand on with the tail in.)
This is a pants-optional doll because nothing will fit them thighs. Only massive poet's blouses seem to fit them shoulders. A hybrid success but damn tricky.

    8. @A Wee Tiefling So glamourous! Pink and black always look good together :love
Is he on the 70cm or 75cm Alpha body? I'm trying to work out exactly how giant my 70cm Alpha body is going to be when it gets home

      • x 1
    9. @castironteapot I believe the 70cm body but...he is taller, even without the heels he towered over my 72cm Impldoll. He's towering over my DF-H 75cm doll as I type though I put that down to heel feet.

      • x 1
    10. @A Wee Tiefling Oh boy...glad I ordered the 70 and not the 75. Thanks for the info!

      • x 1
    11. As someone working full time, studying part-time and co-habitating with pets and another adult, life just gets in the way of fun! I have to make time for even my tiny creative tasks like embroidering a patch or doodling in my planner so I can feed my creative spirit. But I also just muscled my way through two faceups on the one day this summer that didn't have terrible weather. I'm unskilled at facing up, but with cheaper heads or characters I want to bond with, it's better if I do it myself even if the results aren't what I envisioned. If you have the spoons to start facing up, it is worthwhile.

    12. they can, once they sent me a doll in wrong color, I ordered white and received normal.

      • x 1
    13. Nah, he's not spectacularly tall, but between the heel feet and the fact that he needs a larger head to fit on his neck, he's definitely a soft 70cm. More like a 73-ish if the circumference of the head is larger.

    14. I know "70cm" can be a bit of a dubious size category – my Granado Fortis 70cm, which I just received, is 68cm without a head.
Alice's Collections also lists the 70cm Alpha body as "72cm with head" and the 75cm as "76cm with head"

      • x 1
    15. I'm loving how glam he is! I was worried the chrome plating would detract from the more sensual materials he wears but nah, it coordinates beautifully!
Word of warning! It also chips so easily at the joints, especially the knuckles in the tail. I kinda effed the tail a bit because it is not strung, it's wired. So if you break or expose the wire, you're effed.

      • x 1
    16. Yikes! I'm regretfully glad that I don't have the funds for him then as I have two 72cm boys and they're by far the largest I want to go for doll size. Now if they offered him in 50-ish cm like they did with Anubis and Baldwin, I'd likely be really screwed.

They also posted to their Insta recently with an utterly gorgeous deep, dark, translucent blue and asked if anyone would be interested in the colour. Uhhh, yes, please.

    17. Thats true, i have a doll i got for 150 that already has a stained face so i think Id like to practice with him! Today I was able to write down some film pitches to pitch to some people for a film so I feel ive been creatively productive, but I still wanna try and do doll stuff!

      • x 1
    18. He's beautiful!! :D So elegant! The softness of his shirt really works with his chrome legs~

      • x 1
    19. Wow, SO GORGEOUS!:D I am so happy for you!!! I ordered Bast too on layaway and almost finished paying, so; I can't wait to see this beautiful doll in person too! Thank you so much for sharing a pic of him!:dance

    20. I wish I could get pictures to work on here, but I haven't figured out how! He just arrived this past week, making the wait time about 7 months. I also with I could have gotten the 1/3 scale version, but he was out of my budget. From pictures I've seen online, the 1/4 Anubis looks exactly like the 1/3 one, just shrunk down.

      • x 5
    21. oo good to know. i plan to get the 1/3 at black friday if he goes on sale, otherwise rip to my wallet lol. i think there was a tutorial in faq on how to send images but tbh i also dont know myself. 7 months wait isn't too bad considering, but i hope mine will be shorter if they've been making them in batches but i haven't even gotten an estimate so who knows

    22. I copied this directly from the DoA FAQ page:

Den of Angels does not host images, so you are not able to upload an image with your post. You will need to post the images to an external account like Flickr or your own website.

Once you've uploaded your photos, copy the URL of your image. The URL should end in jpg, gif or png. Some sites, like Etsy and Facebook, may have image URLs that will not work on DoA.

In the editing box on DoA, click the image icon: [IMG]

Paste in your image URL and click Insert.

    23. Big sad because I REALLY want Ring Doll's Pestilence, but I have to pay for other things right now. I do hope they do the other 3 horsemen and re-release Pestilence. Kinda getting irk'ed they keep doing this 'limit of 20-50' sp sets. Was praying Ring Doll would make more like Baldwin. And Pestilence would look so nice next to my Baldwin.

But I am still glad to be getting the Mori ver of Frankenstein at least. :( Why couldn't Pestilence be released much later.

    24. if anyone here has a rgm6 body on their doll, can you suggest what other dolls i can reference the sizing with for clothes and shoes? idk if this is the right spot to ask but yeah

    25. ID75,clothes should fit. T&D 75, Loongsoul 75 should also fit too. Only difference I really saw when it came to what they can wear is the neck on rgm6 is longer. My Mori9 Octans head looked good on rgm6, but not on rgm5. I think rgm6 shoulders might be a bit wider. I think it is taller too. And between all my ring doll sets they fit both rgm6 and 5.

You are in the right place!

    26. awesome thank you:) i've been trying to see what would work based on measurement and some dont list it so that's good to know, but i'll probably end up sewing most myself once i have a couple haha

    27. If you like I can try and take a photo of the two bodies next to each other, let me know.

Alice collections lists the measurements. RGM 6, RGM 5. Hope that helps!

      • x 2
    28. it would be awesome if you could just take some of the rgm 6 body in scale with some average things? I'm planning to get the full size anubis but he only comes with rgm6 and 7 currently (7 wont work for this character). I was having a bit of trouble imagining how big he is aside from the clothes sizing (can you tell it's my first go at big dolls XD)

      • x 2
    29. Sorry for the late reply. I will take some photos of both bodies and them next to a Volk SD boy, and a 1/6th size doll.

I also have the Anubis basic clothing set too. If you want to see that on any of the bodies. (Though hesitant to put it on my white body because a lot of the clothing is black and it stained my vinyl doll. But not sure how it will be on pure white resin)

    30. that's perfect, thank you. i'm going to be getting the anubis b set for the clothes since the original one is sold out already, so dont worry about tainting your white babies :)

    31. Hello Everyone, it has been awhile since I came back in there.:sweat I FINALLY FINISHED MY LAYAWAY ON MY FRANKENSTEIN AND BAST ORDER!! :dance:dance:danceJust the waiting game now! I hope they come in soon!! I AM SO EXCITED!!:D:D:D

How is everyone did anyone receive their dollies yet???:chibi

      • x 4
    32. I got the body I ordered but it was in-stock so there wasn't any wait time really. I'm quite pleased with the way it goes with the head I already had. The resin match is not a thing (very old DC mellowed WS; new, normal RD body) but I knew that from the start. It's actually not as far off as I thought it would be, which is great. There's going to have to be blush to match for the head, but again, I expected that.

I'm casually eyeballing one of their 50cm bodies for a Rosen Garden Rin Oni head I recently received. I'd likely need to dye the whole doll though as the Rin Oni head is tan and RD doesn't offer that as standard (at least from what I see). I'd be cool with dying though. A deep purple blue would be lovely....

      • x 1
    33. Does anyone with a rgm6 body know if there are any companies that have jointed hands that would fit it ? preferably ones that could be colour matched or have light tan.

    34. MY ANUBIS AND BAST FINALLY SHIPPED!! I AM SO HAPPY!!!:dance:dance:dance:dance:dance

    35. so back in early July i ordered Li Bai JuDan Mads fullset, which i’m just stupidly excited about!! i am just curious - obviously they were limited to ten fullsets, and i wonder if i might find any of the nine other people on here who are waiting for him :) i honestly am so excited because i’ve loved Ringdoll for the longest time and i just want him home already!!

      • x 3
    36. How exciting! Did you do the layaway through Ringdoll directly? If so, could I ask how they shipped your dolls? On their website, they ship via DHL, but I was wondering if your items were shipped that method. Thank you :)

      • x 1
    37. Regards shipping, when I bought Shaytien during their Black Friday sale last year, Canada Post was on strike and since they have a contract with both EMS & DHL for "final destination delivery", if I'd used those, my doll would've been held in a warehouse after exiting Customs until CanPost was back to work (which turned out to be about a week before Xmas... and they're back on strike now since a new contract was never reached from back then).

I emailed RD and asked if there was an alternative courier I could use after explaining about the postal strike. They were very accommodating and sent him via FedEx (shipping was higher, but I expected that) and they even put on the box in big letters that the package was NOT to be handed to CanPost and was to be delivered directly to my door (which it was).

If you need a different shipping method than is offered, ask them. The worst that could happen is that they say it's not possible. As long as you're willing to potentially pay extra to use a different shipper they probably can accommodate your request.

      • x 1
    38. Thanks for that info! I actually asked them, but they didn't respond to my request about another shipper at all. I will probably poke them again and ask once more, but I was also trying to coordinate a layaway with them during the time (maybe they overlooked that part of the question). They respond, but their responses seem very slow.

    39. oo I'm still waiting for my Anubises! please share pics when they arrive! :XD:

    40. lol back again, just received my first official son, a mystery secondhand "junk" doll (won in auction with horrible pics of the product) that turned out to be a Boyce in white skin instead of the promo tan. I'm pleasantly surprised as Boyce was on my wishlist but I didn't think I'd ever get him. He even came with a full outfit, boots, a wig, eyes, a glove, and a skeleton staff. sadly, I didn't plan ahead and he's wearing a dress i bought for one of my incoming larger dolls until i can make him some proper clothes. I hope I can clean him up a bit soon and fix his loose string so he can stand with dislocating his legs. For a 10 year old doll, he has barely any yellowing even though he is white skin, which is also a nice bonus.

    41. Thank you! I did use layaway directly with Ringdoll. I used PayPal to send my payments to them. The max you can do a layaway is 4 months when I did it. It was super easy and Ringdoll will email you the amounts that are need for your layaway. Ringdoll shipped my dolls through DHL and it is super fast too. I think dolls are only shipped through DHL.

My Ringdoll Bast and Anubis did come in! Here are pics of my lovelies!! :D:D
Now, I am just waiting for Frankenstein and I CAN'T WAIT till he comes home too!

    45. I just placed my order for 50 cm Wei Wuxian! I am so excited! Is anyone else here getting him too??
I will need to figure out where to get some clothes for him because he's bigger than all of my msd's en smaller than all my SD's. :sweat
If anyone has any advise on what fits ringdoll 50 cm boys that would be great! :D

    46. Well... it finally happened, Ringdoll got me!

There's something delightful about the face sculpt of Famine — the normal one, not the special one, although that's a spectacular body horror specimen (just not my thing). They're killing it with the whole Horseman lineup, but I'd been able to resist until now.

The fullset is impressive but mine's only going to be a nude doll in tan, since I'm tentatively styling him as an angel that's a visual opposite to my DZ Light. Still, simple as he is, I'm excited! This company has so many beautiful sculpts that I've been considering, but when I saw this one, I knew I found the perfect first Ringdoll for me.

      • x 7
    47. My only saving grace to all these amazing sculpts they've been throwing at us lately is that they're all of a size larger than I want/am comfortable with. I have 2-72cm boys (not RD) and they're a LOT of doll to me. There wasn't another, shorter option for them so I had to take what was offered (so to speak). It's not my intention to add any more dolls to my collection over the 70cm mark (and I'd prefer to keep them under 65cm, tbh).

Now, should RD decide to offer some of their recent boys at a shorter stature like their 50-ish cm version... I may be in deep trouble. I love the Alpha doll but he's regretfully too large for my tastes as he is currently available. I love the look of Baldwin's special head (and yeah, I'm aware he is/was available in smaller size) as well as the 4 horsemen they're releasing but I'm also drawn to the unusual and they def tick those boxes for me but are too big.

      • x 2
    48. I felt the same way about Pestilence! I immediately fell for his face and knew he had to be my first doll. I feel like he was perfectly crafted to appeal to me.. :XD: They're really doing great with this series, Famine is awesome as well. I'm looking forward to the next two!

    49. Boy do I feel this! :XD: Although I love my 1/3 boys, they are indeed A Lot. For a variety of reasons, I find myself preferring 1/4 overall, so I'm both delighted and terrified that companies like Ringdoll and Loongsoul seem to be releasing 1/4 versions of their 1/3 sculpts.

The scale has been the only thing saving me from picking up Bast, but if he's the same as Anubis (who I also love), then I assume there could be a 1/4 version inbound... or has there been one already that I'm not aware of? Either way, Ringdoll is going to have my wallet in a chokehold if they drop Bast and/or Frankenstein in a smaller size. I passed on Frankenstein before but I might not be able to resist a mini version of him.

We've been personally victimized by Ringdoll! They make so much stuff that feels like it's been made specifically to keep me in Doll Debt until the heat death of the universe. Ironically, I think that's what kept me from choosing one until now... how could I pick between so many equally awesome things?! There was just something about this guy's face in particular that stuck out above the rest, and so, here we are.

      • x 1
    50. Last year they slyly got me with a Ksitigarbarah with the default face-up for Black Friday. Nothing there this year tweaked me but they also tend to do an Xmas sale, too, so I don't feel like I can be marked safe yet.

I thought there was a release for Bast or Anubis in the 50-ish range a little while back? I'm like 99% sure there was. I have a lot of 50-ish cm boys from multiple companies. They're much more portable while still retaining the maturity of the larger SD boys.

      • x 1
    51. Did anyone else order Frankenstein? It's been exactly six months and I haven't heard anything. From my understanding, Ringdoll takes 4-6 months to ship dolls. I finished my layaway in August.

    52. @maykoh Ringdoll have had shorter wait times recently – my Alpha body (70cm, Soom Normal matching resin, electroplating) took 6 months, ordered through Alice's Collections.
Ringdoll do have a history of long wait times – if you look back through the waiting room, you can see the long wait times some people experienced, especially for collab dolls like the MZDS boys.
All the new releases like the Horsemen, combined with 11.11 sales and the holiday/new year season are likely to slow orders down a bit.

I'd recommend checking in with Ringdoll or your dealer.

      • x 2
    53. Their Horsemen line is so damn gorgeous! :D Honestly I'm super bummed that big new doll purchases are totally off the cards for me for a few years (yay, life stuff) but one can dream.

    54. New Hi everyone,

I am currently doing a little research since I sort of found one of the new Ringdoll sculpts that I really rather like.

Since it's been about 6 years since the last doll purchase from them I am a little bit lost on the newer body types. So my question is of anyone here has the RGMbody-06 and RGMbody-07-75 and could help with some owner pictures of what they look like. I have been checking the official photos buy I always find owner photos are a very good compliment to decide.

So, this is going to sound weird but.... uhm... for the 07 body my main question mark at the moment is just how much of a .... uhhhh.... (how to word this) "leaning back with hips forward, putting a lot of 'hey look at me' focus on the general man-bit area" this body actually has going on when put in a neutral "just standing here minding my own business" pose. I sort of get the impression that the posing in the company photos may be giving me the wrong idea and figured it's best to ask.

Also while I'm at it, would anyone have happened to have purchased a Zhang Jiao (the dude with the goat skull mask) and could help with a reference photos of what the proportions are like between the body and head since it's a bit hard to figure out on the full set photos.

      Many thanks in advance!

    55. New
sorry i havent quite figured out images on this site yet, but i recently had my 7-75 body arrive and it stands fairly well without pushing the hips. in my opinion it is more well proportioned in person than in the photos on their sites, the pp is also removable now so it doesnt draw as much attention as before

      • x 1
    56. New The website photos do emphasize the pelvic push
I have two 07 bodies (70cm and 75cm) and they stand straight when posed normally. Sorry I don't have pictures.

    57. New
Thank you so much, that is wonderful news. I think both the body types look amazing but if I get the doll I think I will choose the 07 body. I think that sometimes the promo photos, while great in every way, focus so much on the range of movement and ability to pose the doll that it sometimes gets a little bit more difficult to figure out “what do you actually look like from different angles when you are not performing gymnastics?”

Oh! That’s news for sure. My first Ringdoll doll had the man-bits sculpted as part of the body while the rest of them had their thingy like jointed. Through to be fair to them it only drew attention to itself on that body type if using tight pants/underpants :aeyepop:.

I had no idea Ringdoll had begun to have it removable. Thank you for letting me know. Call me silly but I do feel a little bit sorry for the guys if I were to like… take the thingy off and put it away in a box or something :sweat However… for any sort of tighter pants I imagine it’s a very good option

      Yes… yes it does :sweat

I don’t mind it as such, but let’s just say there is a time and place for everything depending on the context :

Example 1: “Yes hello, I am here with my awesome band posing for a photo shoot. Oh, more man bit focus? Why certainly *pelvic push*

Example 2: “Hello co-worker from a different department who I don’t really know at all, may I ask you for help with something? *pelvic push* :XD:

Example 3: “Hello boss, you asked for some overtime and here I am to help *pelvic push* :whee:

In at least two of these examples, I imagine it would end with a stern talk with HR

Thank you so much for letting me know! It’s awesome that the 07 body does stand straight and that the company photos only gave a different impression :D I have the 02 body for all except one of my Ringdoll dolls (one 03 body) and as much as I love the 02 body it would be cool to add another body type to the collection.

Haha thank you :whee:. Long story short but the wrong context man-bit focus is one of those re-occurring topics that I find hilarious, especially if matched with another character’s reaction being the equivalent of this smiley :nowords:. There is this one comic book series I read many years ago that does this a LOT to the main villain. So, the first time you get a full figure "TADA BE AFRAID!" image of the character the first thought is "could you please clarify if it is the crotch you are introducing as the villain I'm supposed to be afraid of or is the rest of the character also part of this? Just asking because most of the image and all of the focus is on the crotch.... repeatedly throughout this comic book" :sweat
