I'm considering Mr.carterpillar head with RGM04 ( it's the smallest of all the RBM) Does he lookmature enough? I dont see any review of mr.carterpillar yet( guess noone has received it yet)

 

I think he would look good. He doesn't have the large immature (almost preteen) eyes of some of the teen boys.

Hi,

I want to get a pair of jointed hands for my Ringdoll Alice 01 when she arrives.

I'm looking at a few of the jointed hands on Alicebjd and I want to ask ppl which company's resin is closest to RD's normal skin?

RD normal is super pale! I don’t have a doll in it anymore, but if I recall it matched pretty well with iple’s white skin. That’s not super helpful because iple doesn’t make jointed hands, but maybe ws/pale ns would work best, as long as it isn’t paper white.

 

I was looking at Dika white jointed hands. Will it be close?

 

I think it could.it looks like it isn’t Paper white. I have no idea how close though!

Soon I'll buy Ringdolls Ellis, I love her design but I want to buy green eyes for her.
After looking through some posts on DOA I'm not sure anymore if 14, 16 or 18mm fits for her the best. I like the eye size she has in her promo photos. Can someone tell me what size she wears?

The Ringdoll teens aren't very big dolls in size so I would guess maybe 14 ? I was trying to research her actual measurements but it's not listed in many areas. Also may want to wait on though to see! Or if anyone here owns her.

 

I don't own her either but I agree that they may be 14 mm. She has that rather realistic look that's hard to pull off with bigger eye size.

I use 14mm for my Spencer. Though if you can you might want to try some small-iris ones since mine still look rather unrealistic. I like the style but it's also good to experiment. Also depends on the sculpt's expression, I imagine

 

Hello, does someone has a picture of Ellis? Not her promotion photos, I would like to see her face with maybe another face-up. I can't find pictures on Instagram or Google.

 

I second this request I ordered the Ellis wig a long time ago now, because it was so cute, but really wanted the full set, though I couldn't afford it I'm dying to see owner pictures, even if it's not a full set

 

About Ellis's eyes,

I'll buy 14mm but I'm not sure about the iris size. Should I go with 7, 6, or 5mm?

Depends on the age, the larger the iris the younger they look. I think the 6mm iris would look great!

I agree, too small of an iris in big eyes looks weird. I don't even like them in animes or mangas either, even if they are the main character, it's just creepy. *shudder*

 

Reviving this thread! It is a longshot, perhaps, but does anyone have the 03 girl body that can comment on the height? I have seen it listed as both 58cm and 59.5cm on official Ringdoll pages, and would really like to know which is correct.

And other general comments the body, or about the 02 and 04 girl bodies, would be great too! I've been eyeing Shay and now their newest girl Tina . . . Ringdoll has been making some very pretty girls lately.

 

I found a thrashed up doll being sold for low, and I have a fair hunch she may be an Alice99. Does anyone have the sculpt?

Hi! Does anyone know which other company's normal resin matches Ringdoll? I may order a Ringdoll Teen in the future and I would love to buy a pair of jointed hands from a different company.

Hi. I was wondering if anyone is planning on ordering Morin? I think he would make a cool Sesshomaru.

 

I was thinking of ordering him! But instead of Sesshomaru, Hoozuki I had plans for a different sculpt, but Morin has the perfect features.

 

I'm planning on ordering Decree Dog, but it seems like absolutely no one has him. I can't find ANY owner pictures. But I'm excited nonetheless! If anyone knows of anyone who has him, I'd love to see! I also really love Morin, so he's going on my wishlist as well.

 

I think he is too new for owner photos.

 

So, where are people's favorite shops for clothes for their Teen boys? I just got my Morin, and I love him, but his fullset outfit is ridiculously impractical with all the extra fabric, even if it is gorgeous, so I'd like to get him some extra clothes for everyday things. Modern style is fine too!

 

I've used Alice Collections, Denver Doll and Legend Doll for regular SD sized clothes.

Cool, I'll give that a try! I'll also probably look on Taobao, if regular SD clothes are good.

Anyway, here's my Morin and his five feet of fabric. Not sure what I'm naming him yet. He technically my second SD sized doll, but the first that I'm keeping! (My first BJD ever was SD sized, and he was too big for me at the time, so I adopted him out.)

 

has anyone else seen Ringdoll's new girl Chun? I was scrolling Alice collections and saw her pop up and omg she's so cute! I love her full set! Although I'm not really a fan of the feathered wig..
either way she's such a sweet little love bug! Unfortunately out of my price range and I prefer more smaller scale dolls but just wanted to discuss her

 

She is super cute!! I really like her faceup and how striking her whole style is. She reminds me a bit if an antique marionette in how delicate she looks.

Does anyone have any pictures of Decree Dog blank? They don't have any in the listing, and I can't find any on instagram, but from the owner pics i saw there, it looks like the smirk he has is less from the sculpt and more from the faceup being done outside of the sculpting (which is fine, but I'm contemplating him for a character and it'd be good to keep that in mind when comparing to other options).

 

This thread is so quiet! I do love Ringdoll's Teens though, I got an Alice01 from the Black Friday sale and I'm so happy to have her. She came on the 02 body and it is beautiful, it is a shame RD uses it so rarely! Now to decide if I want to bevel her eyes or not before I send her off for a faceup.

I haven't been here before but I should have, I need to get him a wig so I can take pics of him, but I have a Decree Dog and I LOVE my boy so much. I was never too sure on the teen body, I'll be honest, but I feel in love with DD the minute I saw them, and funnily enough after holding him in my hands, I LOVE his body and his cute face. He's lovely. I'll try to get and share some pics asap!

 

I just got my first Ringdoll Teen (Messenger, I love him) but I can't figure out from the listing what his eye size is? Any help would be super appreciated!!

 

My teen boys wear 14mm

 

I have Messenger too. He can wear both 16mm or 14mm eyes. With iris from 6mm to 7mm.

I purchased a second-hand ringdoll (with certificate, dw) - Winslet, she finally arrived! . . . and I'm not crazy about her face. I don't know if it's an issue with the sculpt or the face-up, but it isn't working for me. It feels too baby-ish. Not sure what to do now, maybe it'll grow on me.

 

Hi, sorry for replying to this now, but I have a Ringdoll boy with normal skin and I want to get him some articulated hands from Dollzone. From what you say, the tones match. I imagine it's with the normal skin from Dollzone? Or do you have it hybridized with the pink skin?

I'm not the OP, but I just got my Ringdoll normal girl in the mail today, so I was poking around DoA lol.
How old is your Ringdoll? The Ringdoll normal is very, very pink compared to the traditional "normal" color that's very yellow-toned.

Dollzone doesn't have a normal skin tone anymore; their palette offerings seem to be even more limited than usual especially since they removed gray. I think your best bet is going to be a pink tone or whatever they have that is closest to it; Mia Pink *if* available, otherwise, peach. Peach is like white with a touch of pink, and I do think it will be too light. Would strongly recommend hand blushing in that case.

If you're on IG, send me a DM, and I can send you some photos of Ringdoll NS and Dollzone/Doll Chateau (same color palette) comparisons when I am home this weekend!

 

DZ does still offer a normal skin tone though as well as gray/moon gray. What DZ got rid of were their color matching options. So you can no longer get specifically Mia pink, or Soom normal for example. But, they still have 11 resin color options of their own.

 

I asked about buying a doll in gray, and they will not make it in gray. I just asked Alice this a couple of days ago. They haven’t had a normal tone offered through dealers in a normal tone for a long time. They still offer a limited palette and have been for many years. They still show the full color options, but they will not produce dolls in all the colors. Are they offering it if you buy directly from them? Unfortunately, they’re a brand I don’t like buying from directly.

Edit: I just looked at their website, and all the resin colors are not offered there either, but it does look like pink is available there but not through dealers. Where are you seeing that they offer all their dolls in the 11 colors?

 

Yep, they have all their options listed on their TB page and as far as I know Alice will usually allow you to get whatever color options DZ has as long as you ask, so I'm surprised she told you no. That's how I got my DZ 75cm body in Soom peony white through Alice back when DZ still offered color matched options. She wasn't offering it on her site, but DZ was so I asked her about it, and she checked with DZ and said it was OK.

Even on Alice's site the newest dolls can be gotten in moon grey. Was your ask for an older doll or one that's being discontinued?

 

I was looking for gray, not moon gray, which is what I put in my original post. I own moon gray, which is a great color, but I am looking for gray. It's shown in their swatch gallery, too. She checked with DZ, wrote me back in a day, and they would not produce it in gray, only moon gray. I am guessing it's probably not a popular color anymore for them to make.

Anyway, this is a thread for Ringdoll, so @Karin88, I can still send you resin comparisons if you would still like to see them, and you can check with whatever dealer you'd like to see what colors they can make the hands for you in

 

Ah got it. Yeah, I believe their updated swatch gallery only has moon grey.

Also, just saw your earlier edit. But, for their newest dolls on their Taobao shop they're offering all 11 colors.
