Aesthetics Revamp and Completion of my Entire Collection, 2022-2023

The last few years have been hectic, so my BJDs fell low on the priority list. I find myself in a lull that probably won't last and wanted to start practicing photography, but my dolls look kind of a mess
Some of my older dolls need new faceups, and I have a couple heads that I never gave faceups. I also tried to purge accessories and lost many things while moving, so most of my dolls don't have shoes, and I lost many of my faceup tools...
With that said, the project that I hope to complete by next winter is to get all my dolls "picture ready" including aesthetics, restringing, and accessories by this time next year.
I chose "Aesthetics" for this thread because, while the ultimate goal is dolls I can take pictures of, this journal will follow my progress on aesthetics work. I may make a few clothing items here or there, but I am going to buy most of those things.

There are a few simple fixes that a lot of my BJDs need and some general prep work to do, so I am going to start with these items first:

Eyelash replacement | Magnet replacement | Launder doll items | Obtain new brushes, paint, and sealant <-- done!| Remove old face-ups and/or blushing

Beginning in February, I will start tackling this list:

· Coco (Supiadoll Haeun) - Blush, restring, shoes, eyes (Repurposed body and put head for sale)

· Rosie (Dollmore Lacy Mio) - Repair ankle joint, seam sand, blush, outfit (sold)

· Charis (Dollshe Erica + Resinsoul 60cm) - Finish faceup, blush, restring, suede, outfit, shoes

· Fox (Dollshe Husky) - Faceup, blush, suede, restring, shoes (maybe sell??)

· Llewelyn (Souldoll Lupinus + Fdoll mod) - Faceup, sand mods, blush, suede, restring, shoes

· Dr. Lamontagne (Iplehouse Cocori head) - Get her a body!

· Obedience (Souldoll Swinte head) - Get her a body! (Reworking)

· Mardi (Spiridoll Abies + Dollzone 70cm) (Sold head, repurposed body)

· Selena (Iplehouse EID Asa) - Restring, suede

· Tuesday (Spiritdoll Camphor) – New faceup

· Lantana (Impldoll Alma) – Manicure

· Mitsuko (Merry Doll Round Fang) - Blush, suede, restring

· Bryany (Zaoll dreaming Luv) - Seam sanding, blush, suede, restring

· Ruby (Luts ‘06 Nanuri+off-topic plastic) - Faceup? (Sold Nanuri head and repurposed body)

· Sumire (Elfdoll Hazy) - Blush, restring

· Bruce (LET Bryan + DoD DoT) - Faceup<-- - done!, suede, restring

· Lady Haka (Twigling Pieta + Granado 60cm {given off topic vinyl body}) - Faceup<--- done!, blush, suede, restring, shoes

· Amayamora (Souldoll Agnatha + Bobobie 50cm) - Blush, suede, wire (?), restring

· Lorelai (Feeple Ashley) - Clean, manicure (Sold head, repurposing body)

· Bok (Soom Heliot head) - Get him a body! (Sold!)

· Adrien (X-Ann Mari + Senior Delf Body) Faceup, wig, eyes Done!

I probably won't complete tasks in the above order and will group things like body blushing a few dolls together to work more efficiently. I am going to try to average finishing 3 dolls per month, though it may end up more like the body work for all of them done in a couple months, and a trickle of faceups and other tasks.

On the side, I am going to work on my photography skills and organize space for my BJDs and associated items.

I will update this on a monthly basis or as I complete individual dolls- whichever is more frequent.

 

I put several dolls up for sale (and bought some more...) and did a batch of magnet and eyelash replacement. Some of the dolls still need eyelashes trimmed, but everyone who needed lashes and already had a faceup now has them.
I also finished Bruce and Haka's faceups after having those heads for about 5 years!

2022 is almost over, and I have gotten very little done. lol Work, school, and hobbies involving living things take priority and leave little time for anything else.

I have realized, I really want fewer dolls. For the rest of December and January I am going to focus on selling and organizing before I try to get back on track with my original plans.

End/beginning year goals:
-Sell my Supiadoll Haeun
-Sell clothes and wigs I do not want
-Organize a small display area
-Dress or safely box up all finished dolls
-Consolidate BJDs and accessories into designated storage totes and display area

 

I sold off some items: Spiritdoll Abies head, Feeple Ashley head, Dollshe Rythmos body --- and I put up for sale a few more items.

I was never completely happy with the Rythmos body for Hoshanna. I am trying out my DZ bodies for her now, but I am not sure I like them either. If only the Harlequin head sculpt was not so massive...

I have at least one pair of shoes per doll now. I have also ordered a new, old Souldoll Harace head I am hoping will work on the Feeple 70 body. I am also planning to get a head for my Granado body once I can find the right one.

I am about to get really busy again, so for the rest of the month I want to work on my Harace head and create an updated task list for 2023.
