Return to a hobby

Jul 21, 2023

    1. Hi all! I never got around to using my account back when I got my first doll. Life happened and almost 7 years later I find myself with 2 new dolls and a new love for the hobby. Any tips on buying shoes? It feels like it's the hardest thing to find for my dolls lol

    2. I know the shoe struggle!!! I have dolls of the same scale with very different feets. So sad to buy a pretty pair of shoes that no one can wear!! :...( I now have a spreadsheet including info like the L and W measurements of the foot. When buying shoes I look for a measurement of the inner sole, or if they don't supply it I try to figure out what doll it was created for or modeled on to compare measurements. Shoes don't often have much give if any so don't err on the too-small side. Socks can help fill in shoes that are slightly too big, and if only length is off, depending on the design of the shoe you may be able to stuff the toes :3nodding: I hope that was of a little help to you. If you share what kind of dolls you have maybe someone who has dolls from the same studio could help you out :abow:

    3. Socks is something i hadn't thought of! I'll have to try that out :). I have a doll leaves Una I'm trying to find shoes for, her feet seem kinda small for MSD. I'm hoping the sock trick works!

    4. For your Una, her foot measurements are the same length and a little narrower than minifee A-line and B-line girls. Dolls in this scale are usually called Slim Mini or Mature Mini, they're in the MSD height range but proportions are a bit different. I think a search for MNF shoes may be fruitful, just check that they aren't made for the M-line (Moe) MNF girls who have smaller feet. If they're just a bit too wide, sockies should make them snug.:thumbup

    5. Thank you so much! That makes my search so much easier :)

    6. I found legend doll to be really good about listing inner dimensions. You can advanced search for specific measurements.

    7. Shoes are so frustrating to buy! I've used two -sided gel tape inside doll shoes that are slightly large and keep falling off -then you don't need socks! The gel tape is clear and has many uses with your bjds!

My favorite shoe supplier is Nine9Style but I'd check Alice Collections for a variety of styles and sizes too!
