Shipping [RESOLVED] Delays in Korean post?

Nov 23, 2023

    1. Dollmore sent my parcel, with a full doll, doll carrier and a bunch of tools, on the 16th. The tracking number hasn't updated since the 17th (a week in my timezone and Dollmore's) and I'm starting to get worried.
According to Korea Post, the parcel reached Incheon Airport and was handed over to flight GA879, which I believe is Garuda Airlines from Indonesia.
I have no updates since then. If anybody knows about anything that might be causing postal delays in Korea at the moment or has had a similar experience, I'd really appreciate hearing about it.

    2. Hello.

I've had this issue before. It's mostly likely landed at the airport and is sitting there (with all the rest of the cargo) until it gets picked up and sent to customs, in which you will see a scan that it's arrived at your country and will be presented to customs. At least in my country, that's the procedure. Hope this helps.

    3. As for as I know, there aren't any postal delays in Korea right now, and the last two packages from Korea that I recieved last month and this month all arrived quickly as usual.

It might be an airline thing? My packages were all sent via Korea Air.

    4. Thanks for the help, both of you!

    5. It's getting closer to the gift-giving/sales season so post is slowing down bit by bit as the volumes are getting bigger to handle. I would still give it some days to a week, there's probably a lot of parcels and airports everywhere have been low on ground crew for a while, too.

    6. I had the same thing with my parcel, she got to the airport in a day was given a designated flight number, and then she sat there for nearly two weeks without any updates. She’s reached me safely now. I hope your parcel reaches you very soon.

    7. If you've shipped via EMS, it's likely on-shore in Australia, but stuck in customs and hasn't been released into the AusPost system yet. Anything I ship via EMS (from Korea or China) boards the airplane at the departing city and then tracking basically stops and sits there, anywhere from a few days to 3 weeks, before popping up again in Australia without warning -- usually in my city, often at my local postal depot in the evening, and then next day "it's being delivered today". Usually tracking stays at "departing [city]" for 3-7 days, but I've had it stuck for up to 3 weeks. I figure it's just the vagaries of Australian customs (though one of the 3-week delays was due to the flooding in NSW late last year where parcels were stuck at postal distribution depots). Nothing you can do except wait for your parcel to be released to AusPost so their tracking can pick it up.

    8. I had the same predicament with my doll coming from Korea, it took around two weeks before the tracking updated.

    9. I think you were right about it not being scanned because the tracking finally updated this morning. One less thing to stress over!
Thanks to everyone for their input in this thread, much appreciated!
