Resinsoul Obsession

I do like Resinsoul, they are really versatile dolls. They are great for starters and experienced doll owners a like. Sometimes I regret selling my Ya when I see the possibilities of her sculpt. Yao is one of my favorites too, I might get her someday and mod her face a bit.

 

Hi! Same here! I especially love their superb costumer service In real life, they are the most beautiful dolls I have a Resinsoul Song too (He's my first doll) and I super duper love him. He has the most amazing sculpt for me. I think the only time Resinsoul had a limited doll is that when they released the red ox? I'm just not sure if he's still available since I'm not a big fan of anthro dolls :/

 

I totally agree with this! I wondered if I was the only one that was totally in love with Resinsoul.*0* I want so many more Resinsoul dolls; like my whole wish list is made up of them XD I just personally think they're made so beautifully and though they're "cheap" it doesn't mean they don't all have so much potential. I love them so much!

 

Resinsoul Ming was my first doll and is still my favourite. His face is just precious and i love his hooves. resinsoul dolls are so versatile and I'm really glad that so many people can see their true potential (aint easy with those company photos) and create so many amazing characters! The only thing that bothers me is their poseability, but there's nothing that can't be fixed (and seeing how resinsoul made new 1/3 body, I now have hope for a new 1/4 one). And oh, their colors! So many lovely colors! I got my Ming in dark tan and it's beautiful dark and cool tone, I love it!

 

Nope not the only one. I have one grail on my list that is a resinsoul Sui on a tang body. I love Sui face but not those dragon feet. I want his hands and wings though.

 

I want a Ming so badly, my plans for him are pretty scattered but I have such high hopes for him when I can finally get him. Those hooves and ears are just way too cute

 

I've got two Resinsoul boys, a Han and a Wu, and I adore them both. I love the affordability, and they do offer great canvases to create just about any character. The fantasy dolls are pretty cool, too, and I really like their boyish bodies. Resinsoul msds don't look like babies and I really like that.

 

I'm obsessed with their bodies.. I mean, that 60 cm one is beautiful, and I can't wait to get my hands on my custom one.

 

Resinsoul is amazing! They create such beautiful sculpts, some times even better than some of the more expensive companies XD!
I just wish they did a better job at making their preview pictures because they almost never do the doll justice.

 

My first and only doll is from Resinsoul and there's about 5 or 6 more RS dolls I would totaly buy. LOL

 

I always said I'd get one doll from a company. But I'd be willing to break that for Resinsoul! I kinda like how their company photos don't go all out on marketing. Or even being in focus sometimes... It adds a charm to the dolls, and at least for me it makes you work on imagining what you could do with a sculpt. Next up would be a Qing...

 

If you've seen the crystal blue they have some of their hands in, I plan on getting a full male as in that eventually, if they offer it. I think that would be spectacular.

 

Nope love them. I have a Mei in skyblue and she is wonderful, she was my first doll and it only sold me on the company.

 

Woo another mei owner. I have a mei in normal skin that I love to pieces. She is my first doll as well. Resinsoul will be getting a lot of my paycheck

 

I think they look very great for fantasy-themed stories. Some of them look elvish.

 

I have a bobobie Apollo and a resinsoul song/ impldoll body hybrid, and I love them so much! I think the only downside is how big some of their noses are.. But yea other than that I love them and I hope to save up for a few more when I work this summer

 

@ Troublingjokers: Yes XD Resinsoul and Bobobie does have prominent noses like Akagidoll.

 

I love Resinsoul dolls! I find their face sculpts much more diverse and interesting looking than many other companies, and the fact that they offer so many colors is remarkable!

 

I agree! I love my RS Sui. I got him in green and I personally imagine him to be a dragon (some other people call him a demon boy). I really want to work on a story with him. I have so many RS sculpts I want to get for other characters. I think Mu would be a good villain with his giant horns, goat legs, and grumpy face. haha!

 

I have a Ya and two Beis. I'd love Ariel...I know she's Bobobie, not Resinsoul, but they're sister companies so I'd expect her to be just as nice as the Resinsoul dolls I currently own.

 

Resinsoul Mei was my first doll and I might have gotten her used and by accident by offering and not knowing I had to pay eBay once offer is accepted , I was so happy when I received her , I was teary eyed , I wasn't really gonna buy a doll or have done any research on these BJD. When I got her I then fell Inlove and knew I wanted more so now I've got 6 girls lol . There's a fb group for resinsoul lovers btw

 

I will soon have a Resinsoul Qing - so I think I'm starting to understand the obsession haha!! They are beautifully done

 

I Agree, their company photo don't justify then quality of their dolls

 

I have a Mei in normal skin and i absolutely adore her! I think her facial sculpt and her hands are so wonderful

 

I am really happy I went with getting a Resinsoul Mei as a first doll over all. I bought her through Denver Doll (which orders from Bobobie I believe) and I wish I had gotten her directly from the company in order to get the doll carrying bag that's included ;-;

 

My first two dolls were Fairyland. While I still love them, the seams on them really bother me. Then I got my Resinsoul Mi. She has absolutely no seams. And she's in grey. She's super duper smooth! I messaged them a few times before I ordered with questions and they answered so quickly! I'm actually really reluctant to get dolls from different companies now because Resinsoul spoiled me so much with my SD girl.

 

I love Resinsoul so much! I like their girls but my favorites are their boys. They make such beautiful boys! I currently own a Bao and a Mai sculpt. Their boys are my absolute favorite. They just take up my wishlist. I am really wanting to get the Resinsoul Han.
They may be cheap dolls but I find them to be just as good as some more expensive companies.
I agree with everyone about the seams thing. My fairyland (extremely beautiful sculpt) head has annoying seams while my Resinsouls don't have any.

 

We have a coffee Song and a pair of Ju twin girls (one gray, one white) and they are the sweetest things. I just wish I could find shoes to fit them more easily! We ordered them for Christmas in 2008 when they were including the free Ya, and she's a sweetheart too. We couldn't believe how nice they were and how fast they shipped.

Someday I will get my blue Jun Merboy!

 

I'm new to the hobby, but I've really fallen in love with Resinsoul's dolls! I'm planning to order Mei as my first, and I'm interested in ordering one of their tinies at some point as well. They all have this certain quality to them that reminds me of one of my favorite artists, seeing that in real life (granted, in doll form, but the doll-like look her character's faces have is part of the charm) is incredible

 

Resinsoul Mei is also my first doll definitely one of my favorite sculpt! Resinsoul and doll leaves are my cheaper but with good quality dolls!

 

It's easy to underestimate Resinsoul because of the price, but they are really lovely. I bought a Ju for xmas this year planning to use her body for a hybrid with another head, but now I can't because Ju is too beautiful to be a floating head. And I've decided to get a Sui to go with her.

 

Oh heck yeah. I only got into the hobby in november and already have 3 rs dolls. They're super affordable but the quality is exceptional. No seam lines, no rough bits, they're smooth and gorgeous and the fantasy colours are extremely vibrant. I love their sculpts, they're all kinda wonky which adds a degree of realism (human faces aren't symmetrical) and they have little quirks like Song has one eye bigger than the other and they all have slightly crooked noses. Wu's ears are totally different from one another too. And some people might hate that, but I see it as being more a sign of them being hand crafted, they were sculpted by eye, not by a computer and there's something very appealing and organic about it.

Also their customer service is exceptional.

I like the aesthetic, it's slightly more cartoonish than many bjd companies and that really appeals to me. And elf ears... and fantasy colours... eeee.

 

Yes, I love that most of them have those little imperfections like the ear thing!! I totally agree, it makes them more human.

 

Yes, I love resin soul. I have about 4 of them. ju is my fav.

 

ResinSoul is my favorite company! I know they're sister companies, but I'm getting a Bobobie Apollo for my next dolly He's going to be Arwen's brother.

 

I'm hoping to get a Ya in normal skin (Possibly on the Rong body) someday, She's so beautiful I also really really love Resinsoul's jointed hands! I wish that they had some for MSDs because they're super cool

 

The customer service was so above and beyond when I ordered from Resinsoul for the first time... I absolutely want to go back to them in the future, and I'm trying to sell my sister on going to Resinsoul when she wants to go for a tan doll... I think she'd love Mei (I mean, I know I do... All I know is she wants a tan girl with elf ears, though).

I really want Mai and An in the two tan/brown shades they offer... they're both so cute, and there are two sets of characters I love that they would be able to cosplay as, which is always a bonus... I really want to make little miniature cosplays.

 

I like that they have so many fantasy parts like hooves and horns and their service. Nearly every color is possible. My Spring with ns upper and white deerbody and black hooves was no problem.. Which fairyland would do that but no way i could get different colored hooves.
Also my sky blue Mei which is a darker color has no seamlines and no sanding lines. She is so well made.
I got her because it matches my oc very well ^^
I would have more if they have a bit more figure. Even the rong body is really skinny. Would like a bit more hips. Also they faces are all so wide and chubby and not so adult.

 

I agree with you there. I wish that their arms and legs weren't so stick-like.
I feel like the sculpts are so beautiful that they make up for it though. I can't get over the detail that goes into the hands and ears ^-^

 

You're not the only one dont worry x3 I love them to bits, and actually tonight I put in an order for Yi! hes a doll Ive been looking at for awhile now (but kept getting side tracked from impulse buys ^^') and will finally get him. I have their Mei as well as their sister company Bobobie's Sprite, and on my wanted doll list Yang, Long, and Su, and Bobobie's Weylin (I'm a sucker for elf dolls lol). I just love how affordable this company is and that their sculpts are so simple yet so beautiful Also its really cool their sister company's sculpts are somewhat similar yet very different speaking joint and shape wise As well as the fact they have so many colors, offer color matching, and customs! This company is amazing

 

I love Resinsoul! I got my first and favorite doll from there. He is a Resinsoul Bao. I don't think I could give more praise than what is already in this forum. I just bought twin Songs in grey skin for myself for Christmas. I've been wanting a Song since I started the hobby, and now I am getting two.

 

Best company ever. I've never seen a company so willing to work with their customers.

"Okay, so you want THIS head but not on this body? Okay sure."

"You want it with this color? Sure."

"You want this head, with these ears, with four arms and six eyes dyed in rainbow? YOU GOT IT DUDE!"

And if it won't work because it won't make the doll able to pose or what? Sun's honest if he can't do it. And he's extremely patient. (Cause I've asked him for three different appraisals in the last two weeks out of curiosity/trying to decide.)

 

Resinsoul is by far the company I want the most sculpts from and the one I have the best standing with. My first doll I ever ordered was for my birthday (this past December 28th) and he's a Sui head on the Tang body. I was confused on how to order him because no US dealer I could find did head swaps, so I had to go through the company directly. But I was directed to email Sun and he was so sweet! He was very patient with me! Since my doll is in their Dark Tan (something else to love about them, the most expensive additional charge for a resin color is just 20 dollars!) I thought that the free jointed hands I should get with my order due to their promotion would need to have 20 dollars added to have them be Dark Tan. But nope! They're going to match my boy completely for free, that's HUGE to me. And back to sculpts, they're gorgeous! I'd love to add a Song, Mai, Ming, Wu, and An to my collection, and those are just the MSD's! I can't praise Resinsoul enough!

 

I love Resinsoul dolls. I only have little Yu right now but I plan to have more soon. Looking at getting Mei in white skin and maybe Bei too. My favorites are the elf dolls. I really adore their sculpts and quality for the price.

 

They're great dolls. Some of the face sculpts can be a little hit or miss for me, but many of them are quite cute and well done. The bodies pose well and are sturdy. I love the amount of customizing they offer, so many fun colours and fantasy options. I really like that they have fantasy and non-fantasy versions of the same head (Espree vs Sprite).

I can't speak for Resin Soul's customer service but their sister company Bobobie was awesome. Fast responses, friendly service, kept me in the loop the whole order. A great experience, especially for a first purchase!

 

I am considering getting a Mei but have been a little nervous cause I haven't been able to find to many photos of her or reviews.

 

That's curious as Mei is one of their most popular sculpts. She's very pretty.
The single jointed body isn't a great poser, it's mearly "okay" but it's quite attractive aesthetically and with some hot glue in the joints it stands well heh. I restrung mine and glue sueded which has helped a lot, but she's not gonna be doing any one legged balances any time soon.

I have a LOT of rs dolls. I think they're very good value for money. Their resin is lovely and smooth and comes in loads of colours, there's no seam lines, very mimimal sanding marks even on the darkest grey and their cartoonish faces faceup beautifully. I really enjoy them and continue to buy them oops. They're a little like popcorn in that they're pretty affordable and so you can't stop grabbing another handful <_<

Yay, resinsoul fans! I love my RS crew, I've got a few: Roscoe is a Song (from the MP) and JoJo is a Wu (also from the MP) while my two tinies are a Yu and an Elfkin (from BBB but oh well). I want to add a Mi and a Feng soon, or a Ya or Qing. I'd like to see more custom Qings, I think she is really cute.

 

I hope to get my Ju soon, she has been on my wishlist for a while! My good friend has a Tang, and the quality is just amazing!

 

I'm ordering a Mei with Rong's body pretty soon as my first doll and I'm super excited! I was thinking about getting Su but her ears are just a bit too long for me and I'd be worried about them breaking. x_x

 

First and second doll both RS, Bao and Bei. And just yes love the company and seeing on tumblr how people have designed and created their characters on RS dolls just makes me love them more. I'm currently browsing for possibly getting another doll. Anyone have good photos of hybrid dolls with either head or body from RS? I would like to get a feel of which companies go alright with RS' look.

 

I bought my 1st RS in 2008 & now looks like I'm circling back to order another one this year. Been such a long time since my last order. But I cant remember anything negative about it. Only long time to wait for order to ship

 

I absolutely adore Resinsoul. Currently I have 25 dolls and 11 of these are Resinsoul/Bobobie.
There are a few more of their sculpts I am looking to get in the future.

 

I am absolutely in love with Resinsoul!! My Su was my first doll, and I'm waiting on a custom Wei!! I love how they resemble retro 80's manga and anime faces with their beautiful pointy noses.
