His name is Hunter and his face up, clothes and (temporary) wig is made by me.

 

VampireAngel13:Awesome hopefully most people who are going to the convention will use their DoA names though I'd probably recognize dolls more easily. I'm really excited as well..closer to the convention they will let me know what days/times I'll be volunteer it will fun to find out what I'll be doing. I think working registration could be cool or maybe helping with one of the panels.

My Mei is currently out for a make over but her is an old photo of her..her name is Kitiblu.

All these Meis are so pretty! I love Mei, I used to own one, but for reasons, I moved her to a better home. I sometimes think I should get another one...

Phew! Finally got my Mai's joints today, now I have work ahead of me. I will have to add more Apoxie to his legs and arms but at least now I know where it goes.
Happy that part is over.

I did something stupid and impulsive and ordered a Fei (Mei w/ closed eyes) I don't really need her or anything, but I'm so excited.

She'll be here in 3.5 weeks. I'm naming her Tenebra to go with my Lux and Nox (who isn't here yet, either)

I'm doing a drive by photo drop xD Been busy all summer with work so I haven't had time to check in on you guys and the nicest thread on DoA, but here's my Fjäder from yesterday. I really do like to just hold him, I've noticed. He feels so fragile, in comparison to my other guys here at home with me :3

I'm in love with Ariel's face and ears but I'm not a fan of her body. On the other hand, I love Yao's body and legs but I'm not a fan of her face, although I still think her face is pretty. I might get both and switch heads... Could you imagine Ariel's head on Yao's body?! Would be awesome!!

 

You can email Bobobie and ask to buy the Yao body with a Ariel head.

I think this is why I'm so drawn to Resinsoul, it's almost to the point where I don't/won't look anywhere else xD All of their sculpts are SO versatile, not only do they look amazing in all the different resin colours, but most of them work as both male and female, AND the fact that there's different bodies to swap around =D

I'm also planning to get a Mei to make a dark elf, but mine is going to be in the dark grey resin ^^
I hope you'll post pics of your lilac Mei when you get her! We don't see every many lilac dolls, which is a shame cause it's such a gorgeous colour

You could email Bobobie and ask for Ariel's head on Yao's body. Although I'd suggest going through a dealer instead, Bobobie's customer service isn't great.

It's too bad you can't get Ariel through Resinsoul =(

 

Thank you so much. I adore her. She's on the standard body, and I ordered the full Fei, with standard body. I'm not really into modding/hybridizing/working with lone heads. I like finished stuff, because I'm just not -that- handy.

The top is from a random e-bay seller. It's actually too big for her, so I'm trying to rehome it, and replace it with something that fits better, but I thought it was super cute.

Odd question for you all, I have a Bobobie girl (I think she's an Espree) I'm looking to replace her hands. The likelihood of breakage of those tiny little fingers worries me. I'm not sure how old she is; she was purchased/adopted from someone else. Anyhow, if you all could throw whatever info you could at me about the hands I'd appreciate it. Thanks. I can post photos of he if needed.

 

catchan~ BBB and RS are different form other companies in that you can purchase replacement parts at any time in any color. I've had to get replacement hands before though only on two of my dolls so >.> yea not too bad when you count how long I've had the dolls and how many I has...

 

Resinsoul are good about replacing hands. I broke my Mei's hand and it was really easy to order a new pair. And they don't cost a ton either

 

Lynn Nexus, that's awesome! That they replace the hands, not that yours broke. But, maybe they're tougher than I think.

I've been trying to get Adelaide, my Bobobie girl cleaned up so maybe I'll do more with her instead of her just sitting in her box. Whoever did her faceup is on my naughty list... While it was pretty, her eyes and mouth are an unholy pain to try and clean I'm not sure what kind of paint they used but, if I find out I'm never touching the stuff.

 

Catchan~ They are the most delicate part of the doll but they are stronger than you think ^_^ It seems like though, they like to make liars out of you. I've had hands take some pretty serious blows with little more than a ding and the two pair that got broken really didn't seem like they should have cause lost fingers.

yes what Alchemist's Fire said...which is why I was a bit of a RS Addict..I love the versatility of BBB/RS.

I'd offer to take a photo of Ariel head on Yao body but mine is in pieces since she is going to be going to a new home. I can't wait though to get another Yao...I really love the sculpt but I had enough white dolls so I thought what the heck I can always get her in another resin color. I'd love to see if they ever come out with a dragon girl but I really wasn't too impressed with the legs on the dragon boy so we shall see.

 

You could get a Yao with the Sui dragon wings and make a hooved dragon.

 

Arashi Uchiha~ Thanks ^_^ And that Idea is similar to my "back up" idea for my female dragon Rosaline. Since the tiny dragon has som fluff to it it made sense to me for the "mom" to have some fluff to her too... but yea. we'll see.

BeanSproutmomo~ ^_^ Thanks the wig was a bit of an ordeal but it turned out pretty cool.

 

I think Fei's standard body is the single-jointed one? Someone correct me if I'm wrong?

I'd love to know which eBay seller, if you have a way of finding out. I'm curious if that top might fit the larger bust of the Rong body, cause it'd be awesome for my Drow ^^;

I'm not all that handy either, but you can get Resinsoul to swap onto a different body for you when you order - which is why I asked Xd
I find switching Resinsoul heads isn't all that bad, and that's even with my first doll being a Minifee with their funny "twist to remove" head-attach-y thing XD

The only hard part about hands can be colour-matching, but if you've got a while or normal skinned doll you shouldn't have an issue. Just email Resinsoul or Bobobie and let them know which hands you want!
Personally, I'd suggest Resinsoul because I know they've got a variety of hands (not sure about the Bobobie ones) and RS has a bit better reputation for communication ^^;

Path Oh, your Mei is beautiful. I love her eyebrows and the expression it gives her. Purple is my favorite color, and I'm dying for my girl to get her to start making her a kimono. Your fountain looks like it came out beautifully, and makes a great stage for you picture.

Ahhh thank you! I used the simple yukata instructions here, and they've turned out pretty well so far. As soon as we thought about doing a little pond I was like, doll pictures,,,,

Meis are just so wistful and sweet. I fell in love instantly haha

My Yao has been delivered! I'm so excited you guys! This is my first step into the world of BJDs, and I have to wait until Friday to see her, because she shipped to my fiance's house. I can't wait to take pictures and share her with you. I'm toying with naming her Yasma, but she might have other ideas. Isn't it amazing how dolls seem to tell you their names when they're ready to? Thanks for letting me share my excitement with you. And for people wondering, there was no shipping notice e-mail and she arrived one month to the day after she was ordered.

 

She's lovely, as is her yukata! Just a little tip, though, unless she's a ghost, you'll want to tie it the other way. (Left over right, you're all right. Right over left, your soul has left.) I hope you'll be sharing more photos of her!

Haha, yes, I noticed as soon as I uploaded the pictures! On my tumblr I said she must be Danae of the living dead today -_- Of course this is the first time I've forgotten, when I am actually sharing photos...

Now I am thinking of making her a white ghost outfit though so at least it's not a complete botch :P

 

Yeah she does, so my time with her as one piece may be brief. Although, I'm not getting her body blushed right now so I can make all the clothing I've been sketching out while she's getting her face up The artist I'm looking at commissioning just re did her page and I think her order form, so I had to spend some time updating. I would like to get her off soon so she can be back by my birthday in Nov.

 

Congrats on your Yao Byronic! Yao was the doll that pushed me over the egde and made me get my first doll. A Yao was actually my 2nd doll, but I still love her!

Path-An albino peacock themed outfit sounds amazing. They would be quite an enchanting set.

Here's my first girl. I can already tell I'll be getting more some day, but for now, I have my work cut out for me. I made all these plans, and had ideas about who she was going to be. She showed up and waved them off. She just has too much attitude to be a sweet girl. I'm thinking she's going to end up as a Seelie Knight with a rose theme.

Does Resinsoul An come with the single or double jointed boy body? I'm trying to put a plan together for the next time I have spare money to spend on myself. (which could be a while but it never hurts to be prepared right?)

Also, when you wish to switch a body, head, or hands in an order do you email them separately or do you just leave it in the comments when you put the order through? I have yet to order from RS directly so I'm not sure how that works. Keanu came through the Junky Spot, which I would do again, but they don't often stock the fantasy colours.
