    1. The other Resinsoul 70cm thread is almost entirely about boy dolls, and I thought it would be more convenient and less confusing to have two separate threads.

      I have some pictures to put up of Chun, but only so you can get an idea of her body and posability. Still no face up or blush, and it will be a long time before I am ready to enter her in a beauty contest (but maybe the BJD Olympics, if I can find sports bra for her!). All but one or two are totally nude, because I couldn't find a bra big enough to fit her, and her Dollmore Model undies give her wedgies in her joints.

      If you haven't read the Resinsoul 70 doll discussion thread yet, you might want to read the posts concerning Chun and the other female dolls.

    3. I like her more and more each day. I bought the pink wig not to match the roses, but for her to wear when she is cosplaying the anime character Utena. But the doll friends that I have made in France lately are into goth and vampires, and I think Chun would make a kick-ass Vampire! Who says that girl vampires have to be anemic little waifs?

    4. I'm waiting for my Chun at this very moment. I ordered mine in the light tan back in February, so I'm hoping the wait is winding down. Once I get mine, I'll contribute my thoughts to this thread.

      Ranma, once you post some more pictures of your Chun, would you mind adding linkage to my photo request thread? I'd appreciate it. :)

    5. I've just ordered a purple resin Lian. For those that have the larger RS girls what clothes do you recommend? I want to start making my own clothes, but would like to have an outfit for her when she arrives.

    7. dolls&tea I am so excited to see photos of your Lilac Lian! I am considering getting her in that color for a dark elven female character and would love to see her sculpt in that resin!

      I recently got two boy dolls in the lilac color and I must say that particular resin color really gives them a distinct look! Congrats on your beautiful girl!

    8. I have the same problem. I want to have custom clothes made for Chun, so only ordered a few things, mostly Model clothes from Dollmore. The only things that seem to fit are the long socks and the SD Boys -- she was wearing them in the first pictures. The plaid skirt was baggy, and had to be safety-pinned in the back. The shirt is too baggy too. It's funny that the bra was too small to use, though.

      Good luck! I'll let you know if I find anything that works.

    11. Thanks! I've been mostly looking at the dresses - especially the Viking Dress. I'm also tempted to get one of the body stockings and see how that works out - at least then she would have something to wear and I could easily make a skirt.

      How baggy is the skirt? I have my RS boys Long & An in DM clothes and was able to take care of most of the bagginess of pants with trunk span panties underneath the pants - the same with my BBB Espree, I put panties under the DM pants I purchased and while they are still a fraction lose it's not really noticeable. Do you think something similar would work with the RS girls?

A safety pin takes up the slack in her plaid skirt, but I have been told (by someone refuses to pick up a needle because her mother forced to stay inside and learn sewing instead of playing basketball outside with the neighborhood boys) that it would be easy to alter it. It's a nice skirt, with a zipper.

      I such a newbie that I should be put on the Reborn (or Unborn or whatever the critters are called) table, so I don't have much in the way of practical advice. Chun is unstrung for sueding, but as soon as I get her back together I'll try a couple of other garments on her. I have a nice pair of white Model-size jeans that I think I tried on her and they fit her pretty well, though they could have benefited by a belt. They had extremely long legs, but of course can be rolled up or altered.

      The long stalkings fit beautifully, however.

      Unfortunately, I don't think that you can reliably assume that Model doll clothes will fit the RS dolls. I was hoping that the RS doll was pretty much a clone of the Model doll as far as off-the-shelf clothing fit goes, but no luck. I am commissioning an outfit for her, but I'm sure she would appreciate more than one thing in her wardrobe:). But if you are handy with a needle-and-thread, it may be that most Model clothes could be altered to fit RD big girls.

    13. I had to do the same thing with my Lian's plaid skirt. I did it on the front, though, so it just looks like she's wearing a skirt with one of those oversized skirt pins. I think their waist/hip measurements are actually a lot closer to delf girls than to model girls, so I may be getting my girl some luts skirts/pants to see if those fit better.


      ETA: It may be more an issue of the cut of the skirt I got her than anything, though. That skirt sits low on the hips of DM girls and RS girls are a bit smaller than them in the hips IIRC, so the skirt goes even lower on a RS girl.
      I've just ordered the "Sexy Dancer" set in model size from DM and will update on how/whether it fits when it arrives.

    16. I tried these, and they really look cool, except ... they really need a belt to make them fit. The problem is the belt loops don't start until almost halfway around the waist, and this causes things to bunch up in the front. It is unfortunate because there is a millinary shop down the block that has lots of ribbons and chains of jewels that would make fabulous tie belts:(!

    19. 8-9 wigs should work, and shoes sized for sd/sd13 dolls will also fit. I'm not sure how long other people waited, but it only took a couple of weeks to get my girl.

    22. I really depends where you get her from how long it will take. I got 2 of my dolls directly from Resinsoul, and they took under 3 weeks to get here. I got another one through a dealer and that took 7 weeks.

    23. I've ordered my (my :)) Lian directly from Resinsoul. I find that dilers receive large shipments every 2-4 week. So it must be the reason of prologation of wating.

    24. Somewhere I read (probably on the Dollmore or Resinsoul site) that SD boys shoes should fit. I only bought one pair of tennis shoes from Dollmore, and they fit fine, so I hope that other shoes would fit too.

      By the way, the tennis shoes come it all colors and are dirt cheap, so you could have a pair to match each outfit, assuming your tastes run to sportsware for your doll. Dress her as a basketball player, and you wouldn't have to spend much on clothes at all:)!

    25. I ordered Chun through Bobobie. I don't remember how it took, but I was happy and surprised to get mail one day that it would be shipped in two weeks, and that I would be notified when it shipped. Two weeks came ... and went ... and I started sending queries to Bobobie. About two weeks later, I recieved mail that she had just shipped and I should receive it in 3 days. I made the mistake of letting myself get excited. When it didn't come, I checked the tracking number and found it was in EMS / Customs Hell in San Francisco. I knew from experience that meant at least another ten days to clear Customs and have it shipped to Seattle.

      I am not complaining, that's what you should expect when you order a doll. Next time, though, I would order it directly from Resinsoul.

      About the wig, I think I ordered it from Dollmore -- all I remember is that there was a huge assortment of wigs and I was surprised an how expensive a good wig was!

    27. Tie a red ribbon around her neck, and she would look like the Russian seductress from the James Bond book, From Russia with Love! As for the underpants, although in general the Model clothes seem a bit big in the waist, the Model underpants I got for her are so tight they give her wedgies in her joints.

      We'll look forward to seeing the finished result, but if it the pictures are too sexy, you may have to find a host site other than Photobucket to keep them:)!

    28. My Lian arrived today and she's just beautiful! I ordered her directly from RS and got an extra set of eyes with her, but the eyes she has are just perfect - a beautiful purple! I think her name is Liadán...

    35. Thanks for the pictures -- she is such a beauty! And I love the mop top, I have one just like it:). It is the first picture I've seen that really shows off her elegant ears. I can see why you have trouble finding a wig, though. If your hairdresser is adventurous, take the doll to him or her and discuss the problem. They would probably get a kick out of helping to design the hair-do, as well as style the wig. If they aren't interested -- get another hairdresser!

I actually met her through my Blythe and Pullip collecting and it could be the final push she needs to get her first BJD (she's already totally in love with my RS Long and helped me decide the resin colour for Liadán)

      Ranma: Heeee. I was actually considering getting a NS Lian with modded ears to be Utena, and a chocolate Chun Anthy, before I was all evilspriteevilsprite - I'd love to see how yours turns out.

      I have yet again failed to come up with decent pictures. I have no photo taking talent. I hear you about the wigs, though - Nu Kwa was happy being bald and scaly when she was naked dragon, but now I've finished her robe, she seems a bit naked. Maybe wings will help.

    40. I think Lian's face is closer than Chun's in resemblance to Utena's , but I don't know if I could bear to bob Lian's ears! If only Resinsoul sold their heads separately ...

      My Limwha Anthy is (deliberately) 10cm shorter than Chun, but whether they will become real chums will have to wait untill are on the same continent. I may have to buy extreme platform shoes for Anthy :).

    42. I came across two Dollmore Model heads, Belle Arden and Ipsae Monahan, and couldn't resist. Here are the skulls posed side by side, Belle, Chun, and Ipsae in that order:

      Neither the neck nor the head has been modified. The s-hook hole molded into the cranium is a pain in the butt to use, but once the hook is in place, the head is extremely stable -- maybe more stable than you want!

      Both Resinsoul heads are lovely, but the overwhelming choice that Dollmore gives you is dazzling. If I decide that a hybrid is the way to go, I have a friend who can make the simple modifications that would make the hybrids more than just a kluge. He does face-up as well, and isn't intimidated by the obvious resin color mismatch. In fact, I don't whether the heads that I bought on the Marketplace are White or "Normal."

      The heads are $88 plus shipping from the factory.

      By the way, Dollmore has various hands for the Model, as well as high-heel feet. Has anyone tried attaching a pair to their Resinsoul doll?

    43. New phone yesterday, plus new costume jewellery to add to Nu Kwa's outfit, so... Camera phone pics, to keep track of the progress on her outfit. Please bear in mind that both outfit and doll (I only just chose and ordered her wig today after getting the doll in DECEMBER, I win no prizes for lightning fast decisions) are very much works in progess. Right now, bald and with the collar but no sleeves, she looks more like a Martian princess than a Chinese dragon.

    45. I love the violet skin ResinSoul and Bobobie offer (especially since I've yet to find any other companies that offer that color as a basic option), and I love Lian's body sculpt as well. I do feel, however, that her neck is a bit long, and her head is a bit big... I was curious if anyone has ever tried making the neck shorter, or if you could fit the heads of their 58 cm dolls on Lian's body (I'm not sure how much smaller they'd be than Lian's head, but I figure it might be a good starting point)? I'm honestly contemplating trying it myself, though I have to admit it would be my first attempt of anything of that sort... and she would also be my first doll!

    46. ResinSoul sent me a picture of BBB Charisma on Lian's body, and the proportions were definitely off, and Charisma has a large head - larger the Dan/Yun/Dai, I'd say. No matter how I tried (and I did try hard), I couldn't convince myself that all the modding in the world would make it work.

      Lian does have a very long neck. There's mods on reducing necks in the Workshop section of DoA if you search and if you're brave - that would be a better option than using a smaller head, I think.

      sesana: :snuggles: I need to take good pictures of her, really, I feel sad that they do her so little justice - and swallow the sparkliness of her faceup! Have you looked at DD-Anne's imperfect glass eyes? Again, they don't show up so well in the photo, but Nu Kwa's glittery gold ones are stunning, just what I imagined for her, and they are insanely cheap for glass eyes.

    51. Does anyone have any comparison photo shots of the 68cm girl doll next to a 70cm boy doll? I'm making a Rogue & Gambit set of BJD and wondered if the 60cm girls are too short, but am a bit anxious that the 68cm girl may be too tall.... ^^

    58. You will need to wire the legs--I have a Lian and she is very stable standing and sits very nicely, but if you want her to hold action poses her knees and ankles need a little stiffening. "Thermostat wire" comes coated and is both stiff enough to support her legs and bendy enough not to fight you. Other than that, I like how flexible she is. If you get the jointed hands you will need to wire them to stiffen them, but they are pretty (I keep buying the hands because they are very close in size to my Souldoll girls and much less fragile :D)

    59. Sorry for being on this thread like 5 years after the last message and 14 years after it was created, but do 14mm or 16mm eyes work best for Lian? I'm getting a custom Lian from Resinsoul, and would like to grab her some eyes before she gets here lol :)

    60. 14 mm look a bit too small, 16mm fit well, but you can also get certain 18mm with a smaller iris! I find the 18mm with a small iris fits the eyewells best on my experience! 14mm had a LOT of gapping where the putty was VERY visible and 16mm was a happy medium for me at least!
