A much anticipated purchase, my RS 18cm pup has arrived today, 2 days earlier than expected from DDE! He is unpainted in white skin, and I believe this is a Boston Terrier pup. Super duper cute. I don't like white resin but it works for a dog! His wrist keeps doing this, but I think it's a stringing thing. The balls seem a bit too big for the wrist joint though. The plate seems a little messy but I can overlook that. Not shown: the magnet inside has this weird glue on it as well so it stays in place. The head plate itself is a bit loose. His tail comes off super easy so I'll have to probably glue that in once he's painted! Also not shown: the bottom of his paws are a little stained, as well as the joints under his bum. But that doesn't bother me, as I'm going to be painting over that. His right leg is kind of snappy, but again, I think it's just a stringing issue. All in all, for my first tiny doll, I love him. Didn't think I'd ever get a doll under 40cm but hey!! He's staying. I hope RS ends up releasing more pups with different head sculpts, I'd absolutely buy them.
Congrats! I have a soft spot for Resinsoul's little dudes like yours--they're really cute, and they seem like they're a nice size for a smaller doll. What kind of a paint job were you planning on?
I really like RS's little doggy. Can't wait to see what you make of him. Is he going to wear clothes?
@Orionis thank you!! I honestly love the size, I've never had one this size but I think I'll get more haha. I'm unsure of what kind of paint I want right now, I'm hoping something cool will come to me by the time the MSC comes in! @TheDoctor maybe! If I can find some clothes that fit But I think he looks fine even without clothes! So maybe both?
@Swifty Yeah, I haven't gotten one around that size yet myself, but I've been thinking about it--I imagine they're great for transport's sake, not to mention the fact that they're just fun to have around. There's just something kind of more whimsical about smaller dolls! I hope you'll find a concept that catches your eye, too! Did you have a particular vibe you were going for in mind? Like. Natural-style versus fantasy, or something different?
@Orionis they're honestly so fun. I just changed his eyes out and that was so far the trickiest thing about him (given, the eyes are rubber). I'm thinking natural, though not Boston Terrier natural. I really love lots of spots and patches so I think I might go with that!!
