4. Yes! As many of you know already, it is our firm goal to not only have a spectacular convention this year, but also to lay the groundwork to make this convention easily repeatable. So you can all look forward to a long future of conventions in this area!

5. oooh san jose!!!! RIGHT ON

6. Would you believe it, we have already reached our first donation goal! We have paid the deposit and I am very happy to be able announce our confirmed DATE and LOCATION!!

Date: October 3rd, 2015
Location: Gardner Community Center on Virginia Ave in San Jose, CA

We have another board meeting scheduled for this weekend, where we will probably decide on prices for tickets and vending tables, so look forward to being able to buy those very soon!! In the meantime, subscribe here and on facebook and tumblr to get first notice when tables go on sale! :D

7. So thrilled to have a con closer to home....cannot wait to heat more!

8. See you there! :D

9. I'm very excited for you guys and I hope I'll be able to fly out and join you guys. :)

10. very kool :)

11. Looking forward to more information on this event :-) Maybe I'll be able to go if I can work things out when the time comes :-D

12. Woo-hoo! Local convention!

13. Today is the day, because registration is OPEN! You can now register for the convention here! Registration is $20 online and $25 at the door.

If you would like to vend, go ahead and reserve your table here! Tables are $100 and include two registrations.

Tables are going quickly, so I would sign up quickly if I were you. In fact, I did! Tiny Jewels Shop will be vending at the convention. :)

We are also looking for volunteers. Are you interested in teaching a workshop? Or staffing the registration table? There are lots of jobs that we could use you for! Volunteers who help for 4 hours or more get free registration. <3

14. :3 id like to volunteer but cant commit till i know i can make the trip. :P it sucks that all the fun stuff happens on the other side of the country.

New Vendor: Enchanted Doll Eyes, MegannArt, and Dolly Bureau!

We are happy to announce that MegannArt will be joining us at Resin Hearts! Megan is also the US dealer for Enchanted Doll Eyes and has a new line of doll patterns in her Dolly Bureau to share with us.
MegannArt features a variety of doll fashions, patterns, books, and other dolly-related items. In addition, MegannArt now offers Enchanted Doll resin eyes at conventions. It's a table full of all kinds of items, and something can be found for nearly all doll sizes.
Megann has also generously offered to donate prizes to our convention! Stay tuned for details...and in the meantime check out MegannArt at http://megannart.com/ !

16. I hope you can make it too! And thanks for supporting us by using our banner in your signature! It really helps people become aware of our convention. <3

17. I am planning on attending :) Looking forward to it!

18. No problem!! Im happy to help with what ever little i can. :) one of my close BJD friends is on your planning team! So im dieing to try and go so i can meet her and everyone else from this coast. (it would be an awesome birthday present to myself! to visit with friends, go to a city ive never been AND a doll convention? how could i go wrong?)

19. Whoohoo! See you there ;)

20. Oh you have lots of good reasons to go! Fingers crossed that you can swing it!

21. I know right!? Just dont know if the funds and vaca time will align. :P

22. I may make the drive out to this if I have the funds after the LA Dolpa! I'm in the North Bay so it'd be a hefty drive to San Jose, but it could be worth it I think.
I'll patiently await more information~

23. Hope you can make it! It will absolutely be worth the drive :D

24. So is anyone flying in for the con? Im curious to see if there are any like minded dolly people going. trying to see if i can make it?

25. I would think it's a pretty big trip to make for a small, one-day doll con, unless you were going to try and work some other things into the trip... but there's usually a couple of out-of-state folks that will travel to things like this... not a lot, though. Depends on finances, time and if you really want to go. One-day cons tend to attract mostly people who are in the area or who happen to be in town, or who are within a single day's drive at the most. I'm 6 hours away by car and would think about going, maybe... But I probably won't be able to manage it. I've flown to cons like Dollism Plus US and BJDC in Austen, which are multiple days and larger... So who knows? The Bay Area is a lovely place to visit!

26. You are very right april! That is why we are determined to do a weekend long con next year! But we will need lots of support from the local community to manage it. :)

27. It sounds like this will be a fun event. People are traveling to the Volks L.A. event and that's only one day (I think)... So it's worth supporting and going to Resin Hearts BJD Con, if someone is interested enough.

I LOVE doll cons, so I think it's worthwhile to make a trip to go, if at all possible! And yes, if you get support, you can always expand next year! That's a great thing!

I'll still think about driving up, if I can! And definitely look forward to future cons from you! :D

28. That's awesome!! I hope we will see you here! <3

29. I'll be making my move to the Bay Area in October, not sure if I'll be able to make it to Resin Hearts, but I'm hoping so!! I've visited SF before but never really did anything doll-related, so this opportunity would be amazing! I'm skipping out on BJDC in Austin this year to save for my move, lol. :)

30. i know. i was planning on making a little more out of it then just that... one of the folks helping with the con is a good dolly pen pal of mine since back in like 06. id love to finally meet her... and ive never been. but im not sure i'll be able to make it. and its a little nerve wracking to do it all by myself. so im still trying to scrape together some funds and such.

31. Ooh I am so excited for this! Already bought my ticket, so it is official lol

Do people tend to sell whole dolls at these cons or mainly accessories? I was just curious. I have been considering getting a new doll, but I might want to hold off for Resin Hearts.

32. I managed to schedule a vacation day for this date, but I can't find anything about what time the even opens and closes.
Taking several buses and a local train down from my neighborhood of SF on a weekend date is a logistical headache, so I'd like to know when I need to get started.... :sweat
I will freely admit that I was lured into committing by the batchix Orpheus.

33. SunshineGirl: there will be people selling whole dolls as well as clothes/accessories!

St. James: i thought we had that noted down somewhere, but clearly we don't! i will touch base with mizunoseiryuu both for time confirmation (i believe the times are 10am-5pm) and to see about having that information added to the site and various pages. thank you for pointing it out!

34. Reminder that Resin Hearts BJD Con is less than two months away! Getting really excited here!!

35. Been a while since someone's poked this thread. We've still got Vendor tables left!

36. Ahh, I was SO excited about attending this con up until last week when I realized it's the exact same day as a special seminar I've been wanting to go to for my tae kwon do class :( The seminar doesn't end until 12:30 and at that point it feels a little like a waste to go to the con after. Must decide which to choose as I REALLY want to support this con and help it grow for the future (and you know, see all the pretty dollies), but I'd been planning on the seminar for awhile!

37. I wish I'd found out about this sooner...sadly it's too short notice now and we just won't have the funds in time to get there ;n; maybe next year though...

38. figured id give a bump for you guys... unfortunately i cant afford to make the trip, but im still rooting for you guys! Im going to take a look through my stuff to see if i have anything i can donate! :)

39. Vendor Tables are SOLD OUT! There are a lot of amazing artists to come out and support, a plethora of door prizes to offer and the Pre-Registration price of $20 is still active, but not for much longer! There's also a Costume Contest and Photoghraphy Contest with some pretty sweet prizes, too! Please check out the website for more details!

40. I'm very excited for the con! I am making lots of great jewelry for my booth, and I have entries for both contests. Oh and I have my panel all planned out! My panel is about managing money and finding peace in the doll hobby. I hope lots of people come! :D

41. Pre-registration will be open through Wednesday. That's only two more days to get the Pre-Reg price of $20.

42. I'll be buying tickets for me and my fiance tonight! :D I'm very excited to see all the pretty dolls and support a budding convention. Hoping $40 will be enough to let me get a little present for someone in my crew.

43. I have items in a range of prices! And I know some of the other vendors, they all have at least some cheaper items too! <3

44. I am sad to say I won't be able to attend after all. I had to use the vacation day that I had set aside, and any money I had to spend went to the vet instead. I do hope that it is successful enough to happen again next year!

45. I'm not sure if I'm more excited as an organizer to see things coming together, as a vendor for lots of people to see my stuff (I'm thinking of putting together some 'convention packs' at special pricing), or as a BJD fan to see all of the other artists in attendance and do a little shopping of my own. Either way, it will be an amazing day!

46. I'm super excited! I've never been to a doll convention before, and the fact that it's in San Jose is a nice bonus!

47. [IMG]

My photo workshop will be quite thorough and we will go over all kinds of great topics from natural posing to lighting to editing. I'll show you how to take great photos on a budget, even if all you have is a lamp and a camera!! 2-3 pm and it's FREE with admission!

48. Ohhh, I am so excited for this! I am hopingto get back to going to meetups and such now that I'm living back in the Bay area. I haven't hung out with other BJD collectors in .... a few years?

49. Super excited, I got both my girls I'm bringing ready tonight!

Edit: rather than make a new post.
I'd like to apologize for the short although moderately loud outburst my 2 months old had. I just couldn't get her bottle to her fast enough to prevent the short cry she had.
I hope that she did not disturb any one too much.

It was lovely to meet and talk with many of you!
Again Ada and I really do apologize for the noise!

50. Don't know if it's better to post here or the Facebook page, but I just wanted to say I had a fantastic time yesterday!! It was so much fun, I'm really happy I got to attend and I'm so excited to see how it's going to grow next year and hopefully try my best to contribute :) I am now thoroughly convinced I need a Yo-SD in my life now too!

51. Thank you to all of the convention staff! I had a great time yesterday :)

52. I definitely had a lot of fun at the con! I hope you guys do it again soon. I'll definitely get per-registration this time. All the shops and people were too good to miss out on.

53. @nessa -- Great to see your photos! It looked fantastic.

54. I love the photos! Looks like a great con! I was sorry I couldn't go!

55. oooh thanks for posting photos! im surprised i didnt think to come check the thread.

56. Will there be another one in 2016?

57. Agreed! I'd love to hear any updates in regards to a convention for this year :) I think it has a ton of potential and I definitely want to do my best to support it for many more years to come.
