Adhara's opera-mask facepaint (see bottom of the post) was a distinctive part of her image, and I've captured so many photos of her in that look. It was not an easy decision to make, overhauling who she was. But over the years, I've asked myself what she actually stood for, to me. Especially with all the trials and tribulations of the past year or so, I've changed a lot. Her character had changed too, in many ways. I'll miss her old faceup, and I'm pretty sure there are others who will, too. But it was a leap of no regrets, and the hobby journey continues on! I can definitely see the chin mod. I like her new look, it's softer and inviting. Well done, and nice sewing too.
Oh she is absolutely gorgeous, I love her more than ever!! Obviously her previous look was very striking, but the new design has won me over completely. It has a perfect harmony of being bold and fierce while also showcasing her beauty. I'm a huge fan of "makeovers" and re-designs; I feel that for many of us our characters, concepts, and skills naturally evolve and grow over time, and so periodic doll makeovers are inevitable and I choose to embrace that process! Seeing a character come to life all over again never fails to delight and amaze, thank you for sharing her with us
Awwww, thank you! Part of the challenge was how to "carry over" enough of the preexisting character into the new look, especially considering how different they were. It was also a testament to how the faceup artist had improved over time, because she was the same person who handled the original version.
I loved the previous look, but I am STUNNED by this makeover! She's both more fierce and more glamorous, and she looks like she's grown and evolved.
