re-introduction *spooky ghost noises*

Hi! I've been in the BJD community since 2004, with a... fairly extended hiatus due to health reasons. (Okay, very extended! Maybe 10+ years?!) I kept my dolls and still love them dearly, though they definitely are in need of some refreshing (me too, probably). I still see a few usernames around I definitely recognize, though I doubt anyone remembers me, an old skeleton! I was at the early Volks US Dolpas, including that very first one in a mansion, and I did use to sell BJD clothing! I loved doing faceups and making clothes and taking photos, and it would be lovely to do it again. But I've got some work to put in now, doing profiles, hopefully setting a doll site up again for my now 16+ resin family members.

I came back due to a good friend's dolls being stolen, which is very sad circumstances; but the constant trawling of various sales sites hoping to find them accidentally got ME back into the hobby... because I wound up buying a "dream doll" from years ago in the form of a YoTenshi Hinata (my first purchase since 2009), and now I've got another doll on the way? OOPS.

Anyway, wanted to say hi as I'm lurking and trying to catch up on a decade of history and changes in the BJD world. Lots of companies now defunct, but also so many new ones!

Nikkitin! I remember you for sure! Good to see you again. And thank you, I keep hoping - at the least, maybe she can get back into the hobby and start again.

 

She was using one of those services where you put your stuff in a crate to move cross-country, and it was broken into. She doesn't know exactly when/where, she found out when they delivered it, so that's made it harder to even try to track them down. They took a bunch of her stuff, including all her dolls; and busted up a lot of the rest walking on it. They clearly had time undisturbed to go through her crate so we get why they took her computer, and even clothes and handbags, but the dolls are a mystery.
