Aesthetics Rainbow glitter faceup

Sep 29, 2015

    1. Hey, i just wanted some feedback on a faceup I did. I am trying to improve my skills.

    2. That's a really pretty face-up.:daisy

      My suggestion would be:

To use pastel as base colour for features, like for eyebrows (same blue as hair), eyeshadow, lips, so that if there are gaps between the paint/glitter, it would be less noticeable.

Position the eyebrows closer to the center of the face, usually eyebrows start above the edge of the eyes.

Draw the eyeliner along the whole edge of the eyelid (halfway of lower eye looks good), and to get smoother lines and make it even it helps to use smaller strokes of paint.

Also to add another layer of black paint so it looks smoother and covers up gaps in paint strokes.
The face-up looks stylized so the heavy black shapes looks good, though I think the 2 black lines under the eyes would look nicer if they were pointed (like eyelashes) or to refine the shape so they all look the same.

      I hope that helps:)

    3. I did use pastels under the brow but i guess it was to light. Also the eyeshaow as pastels under but the water color pencil looked more vibrant so i used that.

Thanks for all the advice! I will have to make the black darker with another layer.

    4. It's very cute! Though perhaps use a thinner brush to do the black lines around the eyes? I love how the colors blend together!

    5. Sometimes it takes a lot of layers to get pastels to be really vibrant. It might help if you started with a color that is darker than what you want your end result to be. What brand of pastels did you use? You might get better results with a more fine-artist-quality brand (if you're not already using one).

Also... maybe make the blushing in her philtrum (the space between the bottom of her nose and her upper lip) a lighter shade pink... right now she looks a bit like she has a cold.

You're brush lines for her eyeliner are very crisp. The weight of your brush might be OK... you could also try thinning the paint down more with acrylic medium (don't use water, it screws up your consistency).

    6. Use pastels to make the faceup ( use natural colors for skin tone and rainbow colors for the basis of glitters, this make the faceup realistic and smooth) and use the glitter to the last color layer. When you use good quality brush, you can work pinpointly, use it to glitter too, draw a thin line.
When you work just with glitters, your dolls face seems wet ( too shining ).
Use pastels in many layers, don't want to make it in one layer perfect.
