Hello everyone. I just couldn’t resist and ordered Ken. I can’t wait. Those sales are mad.

 

OMG I just bought a Ken as well!

 

So our waiting begins. Maybe I wasn’t searching enough, bud couldn’t find waiting room. So I m not sure, how long are waiting times.

 

If you bought directly from the company then the website says 30-60 days after they receive payment.
Which in my opinion isn't that long,at least not for a bjd

Congrats on getting your Kens @sylvesther and @LadybugCZ ! What resins did you get him in? I have a Ken in normal resin. He's a sculpt I don't see often on the boards, but I really like him!

I've got him in normal resin skin, once I saw Ken's lips I knew he would be perfect for the character Hannibal Lector,the Mads Mikkelsen version

 

Yes, tap art from yours, I maybe saw only two other Kens. Or maybe I m just not good at searching.
Anyway, I got him in normal resin too.
He looked most Asian sculpt to me from sculpts on their website.

Out of curiosity, have they ever had a 50% off for their 1/4 ladies? I'd love to get a Laetitia in dark mocha in the future.

 

@sageyufi His clothing is from Iplehouse, FID line. It's an older outfit that I don't believe is available anymore.

 

Got my Nina through today and as a first for raccoon dolls I'm really impressed! She's gorgeous! Is it normal for the dolls to smell so much? My golly does she smell bad!
Just a couple of questions
What sized wig is best for the 1/4 scale ladies
Where is the best place to get shoes? I am desperate to find long lace up boots.

 

My Ivy arrived today as well! She's lovely. She's intended to be Aerith from Final Fantasy 7, but I don't have a proper wig or eyes for her, so you can't really tell. Cloud is still happy(?) to see her, though.

New dolls do tend to smell; it's the resin outgassing. The girl dolls take 5-6" wigs.

 

Congratulations on your new girl! Thank you for telling me that about the smell, I've never had a doll with that smell so I was a bit taken aback...Hopefully it will go off, thanks for the info on the wig!

 

Awww, what can be better smell in our hobby, than new resin smell.

Congrats on both new dolls. My Ken should be shipped soon as well.

 

Trouble is I've smelled new resin before and this does not smell like,e the new resin smell you usually get. It smells terrible, I hope it goes off as it smells really chemically.

 

Oh. I see. Maybe some smell from box. Hmm now I can’t wait to get my Ken to see if he has some smell as well

 

Ooh I hope not, I hope he's OK...I'm not sure if I should write to the company or not.

 

I've had a lot of dolls arrive with odors but all have turned out fine. I would recommend wrapping it in a towel or fabric and let it rest for a while. Sometimes the oder comes from the packing materials.

 

Thank you! I shall try that. Fingers crossed I can get rid of the smell, it's really quite awful.

Sooo, now I know what you mean by that smell. My lovely Ken is home, and that chemical smell is terrible. It smells like some kind of thinner or petroleum spirit. But it should quickly go away. I hope.

 

Oh no! Not just me then! I've kept my Nina out since she arrived, the smell has gone a bit but it's still there. I'm hoping it will go in the next couple of weeks. Hopefully your Ken won't smell too bad if you leave him out, it's a terrible smell isn't it?

I didn't notice any weird smells with my Ivy/Aerith, just typically new resin scent. Hopefully it clears up before too long.

I got new eyes (from Making Art Dolls) and a temporary wig (from Dollmore) for Aerith. Unfortunately, Dollmore's 5" wigs are 4-5", rather than 5-6" (despite being listed as a separate category from the 4-5" ones), so while I can get it to stay on, it takes a lot of fussing. I did get wefts to make a custom wig, since I know I'll need to do that for her braid, but I also went ahead and ordered an actual 5-6" wig, which I can hopefully style a bit to look more like her hair does when loose.

 

Does Raccoon Doll restock their clothes, or once they're gone, they're gone? I liked Henry's dashing shirt & cape plus some of the vests but they're sold out. I don't mind waiting for something new though.

 

I am not totally sure, but I think RD is more likely to create something new than repeat an outfit.

 

Well darn, I'll make my own then. I have some of the Iplehouse FID patterns from Designs by Jude. I've downloaded MB Lilac's beautiful patterns too. When my dolls arrive I'll take some scrap fabric to make mockups and see what I need to adjust to fit the Raccoon Doll body.
