Yay, my Ada head came back from getting a beautiful new face-up by Angeltoast!!! She looks so lovely now! I couldn't resist making her an Alice In Wonderland inspired dress in preparation for her return, although she'll mainly wear historical clothes (once I make more patterns and clothes). I also completely changed my mind on her wig - it was going to be a more golden blonde, curly wig, but somehow this one looked much better, although it's much too big for her, annoyingly. Maybe I can get her a new one in the same shade later (if I can work out what that is!)

I kept seeing promo pics and couldn’t resist, so I’m waiting on Lian and Jenny! I am hoping they will look nice with my Youpladolls girls (as tweens to their teens), but if that fails at least they’ll have each other to look cute with.

I have been looking for this size to create a little family for my dolls. I like a lot of the molds theyy offer for this size range.

 

They are very cute aren’t they! What other dolls do you have to be their “family”? The MSD Raccoondolls or FID maybe? I’m still trying to work out who should be the “mum” of my girl!

 

Right now I have mostly "adult" MSD girls and would like too have one that can be the little sister or the daughter. So far I am liking the Raccoon Dolls and I have been looking at Iple House K.I.D. and B.I.D. girls. I also have been looking around at Nakana Workshop, as they make cute little bjd children in MSD scale. My grail would be a "Zaya" from Natalia Loseva or "Mouse" from Tender Creation Young.

I just got my shipping notice for Jenny and Maya!!! Not long to wait until they're here!!! And have I spent the long wait time preparing by making some clothes so they won't be naked when they arrive? No, no I have not. Well, I started making a pattern and then abandoned it when another doll (SartoriaJ Phillip, who will be Jenny and Ada's dad I think) arrived, so I got distracted sewing for him instead. Time to get back to sewing for the girls! Can't wait until they're here!!!

 

Congratulations!!! Still waiting for my girls - I got faceups and ordered at the end of the period, so I wasn’t really expecting to see them for another month or so.

So I probably better start getting everything together too, eep!

Maya instantly stole the dress I made for Ada, and it looks much better on her, and also the wig I bought earlier for her suited her perfectly, phew!!! The other two I keep trying different wigs on and making "hmmmm" noises, not sure quite how they're going to end up. But I do love the two free dresses Raccoondoll sent, and also that they sent one in each colour so they had one each!

To my dismay, they both arrived with the big feet though, when the website says all the Girls will now be sent with the small feet - so I sent a message to Raccoondoll on the Q&A and we'll see what they say. So no shoes for them for a while!

I'll have to try and get them new eyes now, the glass ones I have for Ada look so much better!!! Unfortunately, I can't remember where I got them anymore, or what size they are. Does anyone have a recommendation for glass eyes? I've had bad luck recently buying eyes, they all look good in the pictures then turn out to be really poor quality, so if anyone knows a reliable supplier, please share!!!

Also I need to name them, I don't want them to actually keep their sculpt names!

Lol, it's hard to stop at just one!!!

I need to work out which doll will have which mum and/or dad now, so that will be fun! Also I need to work out what eyes to order, and maybe see if I can find a red wig for Ada, the one she has on doesn't actually really fit - this is completely changing my plans, I meant her to be blonde, and was even toying with getting her a short wig and making her a boy, but I do rather like the thought of the three girls, all with different hair colours, so maybe I'll go for that after all!

Also Raccoondoll got back to me straight away to say they sent the big feet by accident and will send out the small feet straight away, so that's a relief!!!

 

Gosh I love all three @morganatron ! I really like Maya thou, her raven hair and dress look really good!

 

Thank you!!! As I suspected, I love Maya the most too - in fact, I suspect she will be like Laetitia for me in that I'm going to want multiple of that sculpt?! (Especially if they make her with elf ears!) I really like the face up Raccoondoll gave her, but I also would love to see how she looks with other artist face ups. Hopefully there will be more owner pics soon!

Interestingly, I think her head is slightly smaller than the other girls? For me, I think that makes her more in scale with the adults, so I like that a lot! Now I just have to wait for the eyes I ordered for her to arrive, as I don't like the brown ones she came with so much, and thankfully I really like the wig (despite owning SO MANY wigs I still ended up having to buy a new one for Ada and have so many extra ones for Jenny!)

In the meantime: time to make dresses and ponder names for all three!

I've made Jenny a dress, which I'm pretty pleased with, but I still haven't come up with a name for her! I feel like something with "rose" in it would be good, Rosamund was suggested but I feel like it sounds a bit too grown up, I feel like I want something more than just plain Rose, not sure what though? Hmm....


Now she just needs new eyes and the smaller feet so she can wear her matching shoes!

Thank you both!!! Hmm, Rosemary is quite nice, but I know a Rosalie in real life, so that makes it a bit weird for me - and I've already named a different doll Juliet so that one is out too - good choice though!

Jenny (now Kit) and Lian (now Maya)! They do look really nice with my Youpladolls! I think the eye size is about the same. The body size is also similar but stockier to my Honey31 Delf.

Unfortunately I can’t get imgur to cooperate tonight but I’ll try again once they have wigs / a full look.

 

Raccoondoll have just released 21cm dolls, which are supposed to be in scale to the Girl dolls and adult 45cm Raccoondolls!!! They're pretty cute, but for me they don't look quite in scale - I would have liked a smaller head I think, they look a bit bobble headed to me, and smaller eyes and features all around. They do look pretty cute in the scene with the other two dolls though.

It's a pass from me (thankfully - I've spent a lot on dolls lately, and just spent even more trying to get eyes that fit my Jenny and Maya?!) - anyone else tempted though? I am quite keen on seeing owner pics if anyone gets them!

Hmm, Mary Rose IS a nice name - there was even a famous ship in Tudor times called the Mary Rose, so that's one to consider!

I've finished another dress for my girls, Evangeline (my Maya), now has a black gown and new eyes too!

As usual I've taken a terrible photo, but never mind!!! And at least one of them is named now!

 

I was looking at getting a sister or cousin for my RaccoonDoll Bebe Ellie (Ellis) and I was looking at May or Candy but was having great difficulty deciding. The decision has now been taken out of my hands because they’ve disappeared and in their place are Jasmin and Dahlia who don’t go with my original Bebe (different size). I’m at a bit of a loss what to do now.

 

You might contact Raccoon. They might have one available. Also look back in the thread. The first bebe dolls were a compatible size with another company's doll.

 

I had the same experience. I was thinking about a girl Noah as a sister for my boy Noah, but when I looked all the Bebes were gone. I am tempted to get one of the cute new mini-girls though. Their heads don't seem as small in proportion to their bodies as the Raccoon girls, so they might work as younger siblings for the Bebes and IH's BIDs. Dahlia looks so much like Smile Olive, they would make a great big sister-little sister pair.

There are new faces Sunita and Mimi and a new Breast Body! It looks like the main difference is a larger chest & slightly smaller waist, but still can share clothing with the Girl body.

Since my two girls are still settling in, I think the separated outfit of Sunita’s is what is tempting me most right now. Plus I still need more 5-6 wigs.

 

Ooh how exciting!!! Looks like the new body is available for any Girl doll too, and they're having a sale with $80 off the girls! The new sculpts are very cute, and those outfits are great too! I said I wasn't going to get any new dolls for a while but this is REALLY tempting...

 

I’ve ordered a Maya on layaway as I’ve just finished paying for Laetitia. The 40% discount persuaded me. I do hope she has blue eyes tho, I really don’t want another brown eyed girl (Jenny et al). I have so many now. Where do people buy their dolls eyes from? Any recommendations?

 

I think the eyes they have are the Glib eyes, but I’m having trouble finding them in stock anywhere too! I tried some round eyes but they didn’t fit in the socket well - I think they really need the oval eyes, which are harder to find. I just did another search and I found Luts have them, under the 8mm oval glass eyes category! Hooray! I might have to get some too!

I've bought very nice flat back oval glass eyes on Etsy from seller Porcelaindollsbyme. If you check the store on Etsy you will see photos of two of my BIDs in the photos from reviews for blue eyes. I love them, they really bring the dolls faces to life.

Sorry for the double post (a few months apart?!) - two new gorgeous girls are released, and both have elf ears!!! All the 33cm girls are 40% off too! Anyone going to order? I really like both the new girls - Lily looks like an adorable grumpy teenager and Angela looks like the 21cm Poppy grown up! What do others think?

 

I saw the announcement on Instagram last night and went to check them out! They are both and I am trying to decide which one I like better. I like the variety offered by the bust body also.

 

I literally just ordered a doll earlier this week so this timing is not ideal! But I really want to order . I'm also having a hard time choosing, but I think Angela might be speaking to me more ...

I just happened to be looking for a smaller elf eared doll and saw the news post on here. I've never pre-ordered straight from a bjd company before but I could not resist Angela in the rose mocha!

 

I think my elves may need a child. I'm leaning towards Lily.

 

That's exciting to see people are ordering them!!! I can't wait to see owner pics!!! I do really want another girl (I have Jenny already) but I'm undecided about who, and how they will fit into my existing doll families - plus I still really have my heart set on Poppy after not buying her last sales period (damn having to be sensible with money!!!) So maybe I should save up for her instead and hope there's another sale for the smaller girls. But at least there is a whole month to decide, as others said! (I am so tempted by those elf ears, I have to say!)

Also I think all the 40% off sales have been for Raccoondoll's 10th year anniversary event - wow, time flies! I remember how excited I was when they first suddenly appeared on the scene, the first ones to do the fashion scale MSD dolls in that size (Iplehouse and Sartoriaj followed after) - I got one of their girls pretty quickly, and I've never regretted it! Such gorgeous dolls, and I love that they have the kids in scale now too!

 

Well done! I do all my doll business (at the moment) with RaccoonDoll directly. I cannot choose between the elf Girls.

 

I liked Lily's sculpt as well, but Angela has a wilder look that I'm going for.
Poppy has a lovely face, I can understand wanting to wait for her. I've been doing mostly second hand purchases. RaccoonDoll seems to have a good reputation and I'm very excited

 

I know I've said I'm not getting one, but I keep going back to look at Angela... she has such a fascinating face! And I do love the elf ears. It's hard as well because I know I'm going to want more of the adult dolls even though I don't have any particular one in mind right now. So do I save my money for that instead? I'll already be overspending if I get Angela! Well, I guess I've still got a while to think about it anyway.
