Question about wig size

What doll did you order? And it's not unusual for an MSD size or 1/4 doll to need a smaller wig. It all depends on the style of the doll. More realistic styles tend to have smaller heads.

You can also go to the discussion thread for the company your doll comes from to see what size wigs other owners have found to be the best fit.

 

Yeah, a 6-7in wig would probably fit! And seconding that some MSDs do use smaller wigs - I have one who uses a 6-7in wig, and like, three maybe that use a 5-6in wig! Using the head measurements like you're doing is a solid bet for finding a wig that fits, IME.

 

Most of my MSDs wear 6-7 size wigs, one has a 7-8, and a couple use 5-6. Like @JaxxCapta said, using the head measurement is reliable way to find a wig that fits.

I'll add too that if you order off of Etsy, a lot of sellers list the wig size in centimeters in the size selection drop down or the expanded description! I use that all the time for my Alans, because the Minifee are right on the line where they fit larger 6-7 and smaller 8-7, while the F60s fit large 8-7 and small 8-9. That said, 16.5 is solidly in the 6-7 range; the only ones I'd expect to not fit it are ones that a company makes for a specific doll that are listed as in that size range, but only really fit a specific diameter within that range.
