Hey all, I've been in misery for a couple of months now, waiting on an Another Secret Shadow King head. They're shipping out of China, and multiple times now the head's been returned by customs on their side (and the one time it made it to the US, it was apparently completely destroyed and returned by US Customs to China, where the head had to be recast, but that's another story)...they're being told by the shipping agent that they cannot send magnets through the mail. Now, this is enormous news to me as I've gotten dolls from China before with no issues with magnets whatsoever, so I don't know if it's their location, a policy change, etc. This is the most recent communication I've had from them: I've asked if they can send to a non-US country (I can have it shipped to a friend in Japan), but I'm unsure if they'll be able to accomplish this. I've also advised them that putting the head in a freezer can result in the glue loosening on a magnet to the point of being able to remove it, but have had no word from them yet. They have offered me a full refund, and at this point I'm so close to taking it, but I really do want this head. My ask is basically, is there anything I've missed, is this some insane non-rule that's in existence in China? .hlp
That's... strange. You still can buy packets of 100 neodymium magnets from Chinese sites like DealExtreme.
This is my feel on it, this doesn't make sense from me as I've gotten dolls with magnets included from China recently, and I've never heard of this nonsense before. That doesn't preclude it being a new shipping rule, but then why would it only affect this one shipper? I'll check and see if I can send them magnet for sale links out of China, I appreciate that. .hlp
Yes. I know many China carriers are refusing packages containing magnets. But most stories I heard only affect inland carriers, this is the very first time I've heard this on EMS....
I had diffculty reiciving a head recently from China becuase of magenets, so you're definatley not the only one
Thank-you for that, Sillypeach, so it seems like it's becoming more of a problem. At this point I'm going to follow-up with them...it may be time to rethink some of my Chinese purchasing decisions. .hlp
I have received the notice that it is forbid to ship the battery and electornic product to any country in this period. You can try to use other delivery company such as USPS or others. It works well. Or the doll can be shipped from another cities. Hope this can help you. PS: Try demagnetization. When you receive the head, you can add more magnetism。:)
