Hnnng I'm so tempted~! I've been wanting a tan one though, milk tea is a pretty colour but I saw an image indicating they have a darker tan (chocolate I think?) so I'm not sure if I should wait

 

I've seen at least one on twitter, but maybe it is one of a kind. There was a poll for resin colours at one point, and chocolate was the lowest so maybe they don't feel it's worth offering too often. I caved in the end and got a milk tea Ruru, from pics I've seen it's a really cute colour too

 

I've been waiting to place an order too! So sad that I found out about Puyoodolls when they were all sold out.

About tan skins, I actually searched the company's official weibo before and currently Tan Skin is only available to order for Chinese residents pre-order only. I am not sure if the Tan mentioned is chocolate or is actually Milk Tea though, since I'm relying on google translate and it is really hard to browse on Weibo.

They also have a Taobao listing, but curently only for those who are paying for their final payments after deposits.

Puyoodoll sometimes open pre-orders for Chinese residents, and put a listing a Taobao, so the best bet is by using a shopping service that has a Chinese warehouse. I don't know about Puyoodoll, but sometimes Chinese artists won't send dolls to known proxy warehouses for Chinese only orders, but some will send with the note that if the doll is actually purchased from a non-Chinese, then the artist will not listen to any complains or problems.

The pre-orders also depends. So far, I saw a cream and original skin only pre-orders and pre-orders for all skin color.

They just closed the pre-orders last October 15th though, so we will have to wait more if we want to order through Taobao ^^

 

I have no doubt they will eventually open up orders for everyone else, so I guess it is a matter of how long you want to wait. Turnaround for my doll was 6.5 mo.
Also, Puyoodoll has fantastic resin. You won't be disappointed in quality.

 

Anyone know when the June orders will be sent out? I thought it was late this month.

 

They've said on Twitter that there's a delay on orders. Everything not milk tea resin should be out late December, anything milk tea resin has no date yet.

Typically my order is milk tea resin lol.

I have a Ruru! She's super adorable and poses like a dream. I definitely want an army of these cuties. I believe they'll be releasing boys in 2021 also. I'm looking forward to it.

Just got a shipping notice for my Kuku, so that was a wait of around 2 and a half months.

But the strange thing is that it's being shipped from Ningbo in China? I thought Puyoo Doll was Japanese...? EMS from Mainland China is so much slower than from Japan or Korea right now, so it'll probably take almost 2 weeks to arrive...

 

I'm a little confused about this brand! I have seen these dolls listed on Aliexpress while shopping for BJD shoes (sadly I couldn't find the listing I saw, but I couldn't forget those silly little bear feet). I assumed they were a recast of some other doll like most AE doll listings are. Could Puyoo be sourcing dolls from a manufacturer in China, or are they themselves located in China and selling on multiple platforms? Either way, these dolls are absolutely adorable and I will have to start keeping my eyes on this thread for a preorder!

 

The original sculptor for Puyoodoll was imomo_doll on IG (their weibo has old photos of the Puyoodoll development). A friend talked with imomo_doll, who confirmed that Puyoodoll is run by someone else now. The terms and other parties involved aren’t clear. But, there is a Puyoodoll twitter (@puyoodoll) and a Puyoodoll Weibo (https://m.weibo.cn/u/6809911300). The weibo mentions an official Taobao store, but I personally can’t find the link to it. The Puyoodoll website lists a sales office in Japan, but I think it is safe to assume that the dolls are not produced in Japan. As for AliExpress, it might be wise to send a message to the official Twitter or to their website’s contact page to ask if a particular listing is legit or not.

Finally received my doll exactly 2 weeks after it was shipped but... Puyoo Doll did not write down my full address on the shipping label!! They completely left out the 2nd line of my address which has the name of the housing estate I live in! They only put down my flat and block number... orz There are so many other housing estates in my area...

The address on the shipping notice they emailed me is correct, but they omitted part of my address on the actual shipping label!

Luckily, my full name and phone number was on the label and the postman recognised my name as it's kind of unique in the area I live in and I've been doing a lot of online shopping. But that was scary!

Edit: Ended up sending Puyoo Doll a message via the 'Contact us' on their website to ask them to be more careful when writing out the shipping labels (my shipping label was hand written). Hopefully, they'll tell whoever is in charge of shipping to be more careful and double-check the addresses and that this doesn't happen to anyone else!

 

For people who have been hoping for a Puyoodoll but who aren’t in Asia, Dolk JP has a fullset listed that is a lottery. Since Dolk also has an English store, they might take entries from beyond Asia. I’m not sure, but it might be worth a shot!

 

I just discovered Puyoodolls when browsing a Chinese secondhand shopping site; I can't believe how adorable they are! I've never been a fan of anime heads but I just might have a huge shift in interests thanks to these cuties. There seems to be a big community of collectors for these dolls in China, but not so much in the English-speaking community. I'll do my best to research them and maybe grab a cutie secondhand

Thanks for the heads up @snowgray! Tried googling Dollybird but only had results for a doll magazine. Are they a retailer or agent? I'd love to peak the fullset before it sells out probably need to think on it more before buying though; I've had my share of impulse dolls é_è I don't even know the price range for these dolls either!

 

Dollybird is a popular doll magazine in Japan. The Puyoodoll fullset is a collaboration doll with the magazine. She's available for preorder on AmiAmi here but as mentioned is quite pricey...

(AmiAmi doesn't usually sell resin dolls. They are mainly a popular and well-known site for figures, animanga goods and other types of off-topic dolls.)

Puyoodoll seems to do different collaboration dolls quite often. And I think they usually sell dolls in limited preorders. They do have a site that used to ship internationally, but they decided to limit shipping to Asia only around half a year ago supposedly till international shipping goes back to normal....

 

Thank you for the link and info @namika! I did go look at the preorder doll and she’s lovely quite the price though! I’ll keep staring at these girls online for a bit before committing. It’s a shame their official website is not active for non-Asian country collectors. I’ll keep an eye on that too c;

The pictures and videos in those links are amazing; I'm also finally noticing that Rose is an entirely different head from Ruru, Lala, Kumako, etc. I still need to familiarize myself with all the sculpts. Wish we had a database like we do for so many other brands!

 

Hi guys, i want to share my Kumako Ruru who i named Monica, it was a bit of a long wait to be able to finally get her and complete her but it´s so worth the time, she has an amazing quality in terms of resin and she poses so well, i would feel tempted to break my rule of not having more than one doll of the same brand and get another one in the chocolate skintone if they ever decide to release it. I can't wait for the weekend to have some free time to try on her other outfits

I'm really glad this thread is moving a little more! I've almost convinced myself to order Rose... But, more importantly, I got my girls new autumn-y outfits (only a little late!) and I'm hoping I'll have time for photos soon!

Also, Dollyteria has a Ruru right now, but quite pricey at ¥99,000! Mandarake has a Kuku but still he's priced at ¥88,000... which I think was more than retail? But his little sad ears!!!!!!! Someone should bring him home

 

I'm also a little tempted by Rose but have managed to resist so far! AmiAmi doesn't state when her preorder ends but HobbyJapan states that it ends on 6 Jan 2022. So anyone interested in her, should probably keep that in mind!

The Kuku I got direct from Puyoodoll without faceup was ¥48,950, but he is without the optional bear parts.

Awww, thanks! They were made by the artist who did her faceup, Violetta10th! I'm not very good at keeping track of artists, but now that I have a doll with her work, I'm obsessed! ♥

I do hope more people share their dolls on this thread, and I'm tempted by a gorgeous egg01 head on Etsy by artist NyaMia, but I'm mainly concerned about not finding a body ^^"

Puyoodoll just recently had a preorder on their taobao store, and it looks like there were some complaints with the color coming out a little pinker than previous editions, so maybe a couple secondhand will turn up on the market ^^ I've managed to just snag an older version of egg-01 from the xianyu secondhand market, but out of all the platforms, xianyu is probably the hardest to navigate.

However! If they do have another taobao preorder, it isn't hard using a proxy shipping service and just ordering the dolls yourself - I buy from taobao directly with my US card quite often and will be happy to help with any questions if people want to try it out next time.

 

Yes, that's a good point! Hopefully anyone who is unsatisfied with the pinker-than-usual Kumakos can pass them along to others who are less particular.

And hopefully your offer of Taobao assistance will be helpful for others looking to welcome a Kumako home from Puyoodoll! ♥
