Purchase canceled with no refund. Need Advice. Please help.

    1. :?I have been paying toward a mint on card layaway for 3 months. My June payment was due on the 11th but when I tried to make the payment there was a problem with the card. I replied to them in email asking what was wrong. I found out the card had been canceled due to suspected fraud. Not a problem. We had another card number to send them. I had to wait till July 6th for them to send me the secure link for the new card because they were having an issue with the site. They sent the link and I used it to enter a new card number. I never got a reply from them saying they had or had not received the card change. I just got an email saying that My entire order is canceled and all payments up to this point are forfeit. I emailed them back wondering how this could be true since they had issues with the site that stopped me from making the payment.

      Rumor: In the US no agreement may be made stating that your entire amount may be held for lack of partial payment unless said item can not be resold. Only first payment or % may be held.

      I purchased a Minos doll completely nude with no faceup. This can be resold with ease and they do it all the time.

      Question? Do you think that they will be helpful and let me finish the layaway order all at once? I have all the money now. Or will I have to fight this? How could I fight it? Does any one have any suggestions?


      I'm sorry I'm new to this and when this all went wrong I turned to DoA hoping someone could help.

    2. Definitely contact them and explain the situation. It sounds like you have already done this, so wait patiently for their reply. MoC has excellent communication. Unless they are out of town for a convention or vacation, you should hear from them tomorrow.

      Once you explain what happened and that you want/tried to continue the layaway, they should be willing to work with you. They are generally very nice and helpful and I've ordered from them quite a few times.

    3. I'm really hoping so. I'm freaking out so bad. I had finished half of the layaway and like I said I have the rest of it right now. I could complete the order tonight. Acutally that's why I got online at all. I was going to email them to take Augusts payment out too.

    4. Dont worry too much about it until their reply tomorrow, mintoncard is really understanding and easy to deal with. Plus, technically the law is on your side since it was their site that prevented you from making payment. The site saying your payments were forfeit are probably automated and since your payment didnt get in the site automatically changed your status to forfeit. You'll work it out. Its not your fault so you'll be fine.

    5. Thank you. Just hearing a couple people agree that hey think it will work out has made it easier for me to go to bed. Since I need to be up in seven hours I'm gonna do that now lol.

    7. Oh i hope it gets worked out I have had fine dealings with them...I had a broken hand and they sent me new one and it arrived in days I received an email back from them the next day. They are very generous and nice people. I am very sure that u will be ok and that the misunderstanding will be resolved.

    8. They are letting me pay off the rest of it all at once. They said it was all my fault and ignored the issue with there site. In the end I still get my doll rather then loosing all of my money but I am a little upset. I made a mistake by not checking my email enough I realize. That is why I'm being blamed for it all. Though I'm paying about 30 dollars more for him now because there was a promotional offer I was getting. I had hopped I would the the 12% off the doll body offer that is being run now since it is a "new order". Oh well. As soon as customs releases him he's mine.
