Wearables Punk Wardrobe Project

Sep 12, 2024

    1. It's been nearly a decade since I've really done anything for my first doll, and now with new equipment and materials I can make what I've always wanted him to have.

Takuya's style is Jpunk and a little bit of goth. His colours generally are black, red and white.

First up, basic printed tank tops for under his jackets. I've replicated some designer pieces he'd definitely wear as a real person, Sex Pot Revenge, H.Naoto and Vivienne Westwood. And I've done some band shirts. So far they're just cut out and printed, I'll add embellishments as i sew them.

    2. These are awesome! If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the images on the fabric? Cricut?

    3. This is great! I wear SPR and H.Naoto myself, so I would love to see how this project goes.

    4. Oh! Love these!!! They look awesome! :D

    5. I feel like something from Boy London would fit in with these.
This certainly makes me wish I was craftier! I feel like it was easier to find more classic looking punk stuff years back but not so much now. Your boy is now spoiled for choice!

    6. Thanks everyone! While I'm waiting to shop for threads and more fabrics, I've made some faux leather wrist cuffs. I managed to heat set with out melting them!

It's a combination of cricut, silkscreening and hand painting depending on the piece.

Yes, it used to be easier to find. I'm having a heck of a time even with shoes so i will also be making those myself.

    7. A little side project while I wait for my hoard of threads and more fabric to arrive. I made a little pvc skull backpack.

    8. I'm really curious as to how you go about screenprinting at this scale-- I've been really interested in it, as someone big into researching textiles currently

    9. I am back to my punk project after a break. I recently bought a fancy printer to make my own fabrics and here are my first pieces in progress. The Return of the Living dead is for my Deathrock boy who will probably be getting a separate project journal as I finish him. I am excited to do all kinds of band shirts and more complex fabrics.

    10. I have heard of people printing their own fabric. How do you do it?

    11. I bought a sublimation printer for it. I print on sublimation paper, lay it on the fabric, heat press and it's transferred. It works only on synthetic fabrics like polyester, modal, vinyl etc.

    12. This is absolutely amazing! How did you get the skull shape?

    13. How is that different from just using transfer paper with a normal printer?

    14. i actually made it out of an old coin purse I had found around halloween. I used the zipper pull strap and some jump rings to make the straps.

Transfers just attach to the surface where they will eventually crack and peel with age. Sublimation when heated forms a gas that permeates the fabric, essentially dying it.

    15. Ah ok. That's really cool actually. I will have to look into it more.

    16. These are Amazing!! I’m trilled to see more pieces :love
