(Link to the list of Wiishu's other DoA stories.) Oh, the pressures of holding the title of cutestest house elf ever. For those who haven't seen Part One, we are awaiting a Puki Pukisha and Wiishu is very much afraid of the competition!
(Ignore the man behind the curtain! I ended up with an extra post when I redid the images.) The end...for now. The little Pukisha is still "processing." I'm sure there will be more drama as delivery day approaches. The Drama Continues: Wiishu Gets a Widdow Brovver: Part One
I have a feeling that once the little guy shows up, we'll get no rest around here! Alucard: I really did it all wrong. I kind of make these up as a go along rather than thinking it through and I was trying to hold him with one hand while blindly aiming the camera with the other. I used a pipecleaner that was next to my chair from another project to hang him at the right angle. I really need to make a little suspension harness for him, as he's such an active little guy...he really wants to go ice-skating...when the pond stays frozen long enough. Anyway...then I photoshopped (actually paint-shop-pro clone brushed) to wipe out my arm. MUCH easier to have just shot the background then "bluescreened" the jumping images. Hopefully I'll think it through better the next time...tho I don't count on it! I tend to shoot the stories quickly, then mess with them on my laptop while watching TV. Not a real high-art quotient involved!
Haha aw he is so cute!! I was so puzzled as to how you took the pictures of him mid air. I'm glad he accepted being a big brother at the end.
Thanks, me-ow. He never ceases to amaze me. I keep waiting for the photo-ops to end, but he keeps coming up with them! Darkwind: Sheesh...I gave PukiShu (which seems to be his working name, since Wiishu misread the label) to him for Christmas! (I should probably post that part of Christmas Morning...) Anyway, you'd think that w/b enough to generate excitement, but Noooo, not for little Mr Drama Queen! I'm sure he's going to have a relapse or three before PS gets here. Sigh..
lol. He sounds pretty jealous. After you told me you edited out your arm, I went back and looked at the images with him in the air. I noticed the little blur around his body! GENIUS!! I was planning to keep my doll suspended using fishing wire.
He's still finding his place in the universe. Poor baby. The box opening is beginning to take shape in my head. I think it will reconcile him pretty well to his rather odd little brother. Necessity (or laziness) is the mother of invention. Perspective on the folds was wrong for a straight clone, so I muddied it. It was too much work to get a clean back edge on him, so I selected him out, made a couple of copies of just him, did a little motion blur on the lower layer. I like to pretend that I'm an artist and that this is all practice for doing my book covers! I tried fishing wire but my arms weren't long enough. Sigh. I have to suspend with one hand and shoot blind with the other. When I take him out to skate on the pond, I'll have CJ suspend him for me while I shoot. I'm also thinking I'm going to make him a little harness to attach the fishing line to to help orient him. If I just put a loop around him, he kinda goes every which way. In general, for jumping or flying, I really think that taking a shot of the background, posing him in a stand (when I get one) against a monochromatic backdrop, then selecting him out and putting him in as a new layer over the background will be better. I'll probably try that in this same sequence once I get his outfit for Project Runway done. It would let me sequence him positionally between the chair arm and the table. He's supposed to jump, fly, then do a banzai splayed out position before coming in for a landing. (He's such a showoff) If I do, I'll post the alt-versions here as well.
Most definitely! What a beautiful crew you have! I love it when people put links to their kids in their sig. And how nice of you to offer the free patterns! I've been thinking of doing that, too. One thing I just discovered making Wiishu's PR outfit, if you have a photoshop-style program (I use the much cheaper Paint Shop Pro) you can make an 81/2 x 11 file, then set a gridwork overlay for 1cm. If you then draw your pattern to scale on that gridwork, you can print it out at 100% and voila! perfect size. You could just offer the jpg (or a pdf) as a download. (Just sayin' cuz I'm thinking of doing that for the patterns I draft for Wiishu and crew) If you don't have that, you could scan a drawing of the pattern and save as a pdf. That should keep the scale right. Anyway...that's the theory. Haven't tested it yet...
For those enjoying Wiishu's goofy antics, I just posted a box opening you might enjoy. He got a hujoo Dorothy Kitty a little while ago and I just put up his opening here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?559210-LTF-Wiishu-gets-a-Hujoo-surprise Never mind. It was deleted. Evidently Hujoos are OT, which I didn't realize. I'm really confused. They're resin, ball jointed and Korean, but I guess I broke the rules so...it's not there. Just rechecked the rules, and it's OT because 100% animal is not allowed. But dragons are, I guess, if they're bipedal. So...no Tink allowed. If anyone's interested, it's on my blog, link to Wiishu's diary below. Sigh. It was pretty cute. But that's OK. Sorry, Mods.
Very cute photostory! Looking forward to seeing more of his adventures and the arrival of his little brother!
HE IS SUCH A CUTE PATOOT!!! I swear i can't wait to see him with his new brother!!!! AHH it will be fabulous!!!!
And Puki Shu is in San Francisco! I'm so excited! He s/b here, if it's like Morgaine and Vanye, Tuesday or Wednesday. Wheee!
No kidding. With a crown! He does tend to go a little overboard. Maybe I should design one with his pic on is and sell the on the CC Bazaar! The box opening is going to take me forever to put together! It was...an exciting day. Suffice to say, he's more than reconciled to his "liddle brovver." I took this today:
The Pookster's box opening is up in all its epic glory: Wiishu gets a widdle brovver: Part One Wiishu gets a widdle brovver: Part Two Wiishu gets a widdle brovver: Part Three
