Pukifee or Lati Yellow?

I started with Lati Yellow, and for a long time resisted the lure of the Pukifee, but once I got one, it was all over. There is something just a bit more compelling with the PKF than I ever felt with LTY...sadly, since my PKF Bonnie was brought home, I haven't done much of anything with either of my LTYs, and no longer have any plans to buy more. Part of it is the body and posing...they're so much more versatile than I ever found my Latis to be, as I really like my dolls to have 2-piece torsos at least.

One advantage Lati has is their tan skins...we don't have that for PKFs yet. Lati also has beautiful faceups.

 

I love both!! I have PKF and Lati Yellows, and they are both adorable. PKFs are better with the posing, but Latis are so special and sweet And not too shabby with posing after the new body came out. I'd say go for both Unlike Clochette, I first had a PKF, then got a lati and have one other lati coming home. I just love their faces and always liked their charm. But I love my little Aurora too, and like clochette says - the PKFs have amazing posing abilities.

No, really - it is just a matter of preference. If posing is something you think would be important to you (like for photography etc) I would go for a PKF, but if not - I might choose a Lati. They have all those super cute molds, and you have a lot more of variety to choose from.

But when it comes to my girls - I wouldn't be able to choose between them at all!

 

I totally agree with Katrine - but I would add just look through both threads until a certain little face catches your eye, that should be the one you go for - be she Lati or Pukifee ! Good luck deciding ^_^

Thank you Babyblue! Hmm, if you are on a budget, lati may be a little cheaper though (of course, none of them are really cheap when it comes down to it ). The basics lati have now is really really adorable, and if you don't need a tan at this point (or an elf or mystics) it isn't much difference from the limiteds and the basics, really. If you have browsed through the threads already I would also check flickr.com. I don't know if you already searched there, but there is tons of wonderful and amazing pictures of both latis and pukifees. I love to browse that place!

 

that's a tough call! I currently have 3 pukifee and one lati (with one more lati on the way) and I have to admit that my pukifee get way more play time - for me they have a little more individual personality than my lati girl (but I do love Molly!) Also, the way Molly's arms look in photos sometimes irritates me.

I agree with the above written people - go for the face you like best! Pukifees are super posers, and the new Lati body seems to be good too. Both of the little ones are so so sweet and cute that only the likings rule in this thing!

I myself have owned both of them, but the old Lati body felt difficult as I already had got used to the lovely Pukifee body, and after all I noticed that Latis weren´t my thing after all, so she got re-homed. I am a Fairyland girl what comes to owning dolls, but I just ADORE the cuteness of Latis and can´t see enough pics of them.

 

I agree - I have both but I couldn't bear to part with either!! The pukifees have wonderful bodies and are definitely a lot more poseable. BUT I find that the Latis have much more variation in facial shapes and expressions, and they have prettier, more detailed faceups in my opinion. I love the Lati faces best of all I think, but I really DO love the pukifee bodies.
It really is a trying it and see kind of thing. Find the face that you love the most and go for that one. Whether it is a pukifee or a lati, just choose the one that appeals to you the most. You won't regret it no matter which way you go.

 

I think enchantedlily has summed it all up ^^. I love both, my Lati Pury and Pukifee Flora!

 

I have one of each and love them both equally but in different ways.
My LY Leah has a rounder face than my PF Ante therefore she looks like a younger little girl, which I like. PF's do pose better though.

 

I'm a Fairyland person too and find the Pukifee much easier (and cheaper) to buy and pose. I'm a die hard PKF fan and they are definitely my favorite dolls.

However, I have just been bitten by the Lati bug because they are just so darn cute. The variety is never-ending and the tans are lovely too. Latis have such a huge following that even though there is so much variety, they do tend to get snapped up quickly. Or go for quite high prices if it is a special sculpt. I've just gotten my first and am expecting two more. I find the bodies a little awkward and kicky, but they can be restrung or sueded I suppose.

Either way, I guess people are either PKF or Lati lovers

 

Or both! A lot of us loves both PKF and LY, but for different reasons And actually Lati is a little cheaper than Fairyland when it comes to basics (Lati is apx. 30$ cheaper), but when it comes to full sets I agree - Fairyland is a cheaper if you want all included. I love the fact that most limiteds from lati has a starting price of 280$ though, which is quite cheap for a limited, so if you don't want the outfit or wig you can get a limited doll pretty cheap compared to Fairyland.

Overall I think actually Lati is the cheapest choice, but you don't get that awesome poseability though - which is a wonderful thing, especially if you are into photograpy I love my pukifee's ability to make the most realistic poses and the great possibilities for photos

 

I have one of each, and I have to say that I like them both! PukiFee poses much better, but Lati is cuter (proportions are more baby-ish), and has more cute face sculpts to choose from than PukiFee. Personally, because I don't do many wild poses with my dolls, I think I prefer Lati slightly over PukiFee because of their cuteness! But you have to look at pictures and decide what YOU like!

I find it worthy to note that most of the people who answered have pukifees/Fairyland dolls in their avatar pictures over latis. Just sayin'

 

In my opinion, the resin quality of Lati is higher compared to Fairyland's resin. I can only judge their white resin and while Lati's resin is beautiful white, matte and glowing (almost like pocelain), FL's white resin often tends to have a green tint and feels too smooth.

 

LOL Sounds like lati and fairyland need to get together. Beautiful lati faces on super posable pukifee bodies! Can you imagine! And lati could teach fairyland their tan resin magic! I would love to see tan pukifees!

 

Or... Maybe you could just put a Lati head with a PKF body!
I have seen someone's doll in that combination before, I asked the owner why did she pose so well for a LTY, and she told me she changed the body with a PKF body. This is just an idea though, it's quite hard if you ask to pick only one of them ^^"

 

I was completely won over by Latis, their face sculpts are just sooooo cute! the quality of the resin is slightly superior to Fairyland in my opinion. No matter which one you choose you are going to love that size, just pick the face sculpt that speaks the most to you.

 

Both are lovely dolls! Some cool pros for the pukifee is that they have different faceplates options and that can be fun and is a easy change out. They also tend to arrive a bit faster, and there is a US store. And they are cute and great posers. Also lot's of different hands you can buy!
Pros for Lati is they are just lovely! And they have a cool option of a bigger body for the same head, so you can have a doll grow up, or a good older sibling. The bigger size dose wear different clothes and shoes. And while Lati may not pose as well, I just find them really pretty and they can do most stuff you want them to. (They can't pose on one hand like the PKF.) I also like that Lati offers a choice make up service if you want something different than the standard make up.

The biggest difference will be the 3 part body verse 1 part body. Lati's can only sit up and PKF's can lean to the side, forward and back. Otherwise you can pretty much pull of the same poses with the arms and legs. I'd look at lot's of pics on flicker with lati and pukifee's and see which you like more! Looking at others cool pics really helps you decide which you prefer! Good luck!

I think I will go with Pukifee just because they are available now...although during the next order window I can hardly see myself resisting a Lati Y

Im loving my Latis, I have 3 full dolls and one head (looking for body) + two on order. I really want a PF Mio and Luna as well though - But Im more of a Tan lover, so Im kind of holding off untill I can decide for normal or white skin :p

Im wondering if anyone knows if the PF bodies can be used for Latis?

 

I think that Latis are a bit more indvidual than pukifee - their face-ups vary with each release and are beautiful. I have just received my first pukifee and she is adorable in her own way. Pukis heads are quite a bit smaller than Latis and so far none of my Lati wigs fit on her. As another plus for Lati they have some beautiful body colours but the downside is that you can expect to wait 3 months plus for them!

 

Personally, I think it would be out of proportion as the Lati head is quite a bit bigger than pukifee and the pukifee body is so slender. I don't think the resin would match either.

 

Hmm.. So Ill just have to go for ome PukiFees too then :p

 

I thought pukifees and lati y's had the same size head and wore the same size wig? I bought a 5/6 leeke wig so I hope it fits now! Oh yeah I have absolutely no self control and ordered Pukifee Luna

I agree that Lati's are just gorgeous though and hopefully can add one of those to my collection soon too

 

They have the same wig size but LY are bigger. I'll try and take a size comparison photo tomorrow.

I am really wanting a Pukifee, specifically the PongPong head. But they are going on hiatus starting Nov 4th. I just can't spend money on him yet

I'm one who HAS to have dolls that pose well ... if they don't pose well ... I don't bond with them. I have had Lati White Dolls and Pukifees and the Latis NEVER posed NEAR as well as the Pukifees. I design clothes and so posing is a MUST!!! I guess it depends on what you're doing with the dolls! I love the Lati Yellows and have been SO tempted but I am sticking with PukiFees ... the Luts
Tiny Delfs also are AMAZING POSERS!!! I love them just about as much as the Pukifees!!!

My preference is with Lati, I find them more interesting to looks at & photograph. They are more "human", especially with custom face-up's. For me I find that the pukifee all look very similar and more "cartoonish" so it is really up to what look you are after.
I do think the Pukifee antes look adorable (I once owned one) and they do have great bodies, again not as "human" looking as Latidoll.

I agree that Lati's are definitely more "human" looking - I actually didn't even realise that pukifee's all had elf ears until after I had my heart set on Luna. I think the obvious solution is just to get them all *keeps dreaming*

 

See, I think that PKFs look more human than the Latis...but they are both cute...

 

Pukifee sculpts there is more of a variety, and lati sculpts all kinda resemble each other, but I prefer lati's better. The wigs are more snug and the clothing looks more realistic. The only thing I hate about lati, is the normal skin. It looks like white skin and it bothers me when I put a tan doll next to a normal skin lati it looks weird.

 

Lati allllll the way! I don't like proportions of Pukifee. They don't look as cute to me in clothes. Also prefer the aesthetic of Lati face molds because there is so much variety and they look very real. I babysit for a little girl who looks just like Lati Yellow Miel.. I don't think I can ever say that about a pukifee!

yes, same as angelicbubble, i agree that lati head with pkf body is great. pkf body is better than lati body, but lati have cuteness doll face ^^

 

the other option if you like the lati sculpts but want an amazing body for posing is to put lati heads on tiny delf bodies. most of the lati basic heads are available separately and you can buy the bodies for the tiny delfs on their own as well so you won't end up with floating heads. and the best part is the normal skins are an almost perfect match!

Absolutely, they have their own aesthetics and I doubt we would all agree which is 'best'.

I only know that I love how pukifee poses and from what I have heard, latis doesnt pose as good.

I love the face of Lati the most, but that is because i never saw a Pukifee in Real life. But it is intresting to read the comparison of the body's ,so i learn again a bit of the bjd

i've heard pkf is excellent for posing. i certainly do love their faces the most, i've gotta say! they're just so cute. but that hybrid of lati and luts is so adorable too...

I've got both but I'd vote PukiFee every time; there's just something about them I can't resist

Emotions aside though, the joints feel much neater and less obvious. I just love the way they're designed.

I have a pukifee Zoe but am looking at others in the 1/8 size, too, so lati yellow and tiny delf etc.

 

This is a great idea that’s so obvious yet I didn’t think about it....I want to try that!

 

Had both pukifee and lati before but end up selling pukifee and kept lati. I find lati has more cute dolls, i don't like joints on body so another reason why i like lati better. I display my lati inside the cabinets or dollhouse so i don't really care about the waist joint much. Also lati have more new faces and love the limited release dolls alot.

 

Is here someone with a Lati head on a Pukifee body? I would love to see this hybrid =)

 

I’ve seen one on Flickr before. Just search Lati pukifee hybrid.
But i think resin color these days will be wayyy different. Lati most recent normal skin is very dark and peach color

 

I started with Lati Yellow but would love to have a Puki or Pukifee one day.
