Protection from sunlight - Smart Dolls

Dec 18, 2022

    1. Hi,

I just bought a full Smart Doll in a cocoa skintone and a cinnamon body whose heads are coming in the mail. I was wondering how I could exhibit both of them while considering that sunlight could harm them. I don't want to put them back in their boxes for the day.

Thanks for your knowledge and your advice,

      Resilient

    2. Smart Dolls are off-topic on DoA, but you can discuss them on the Brigadoon section of the forum (there is already a thread for them there).

As long as you keep the dolls away from direct sunlight or any UV light, there should be no worry of yellowing with most types of plastic other than resin. I don't own a Smart Doll myself, but I do own a version 1 Volks Dollfie Dream and while I keep her in my closet, it's just to protect my cats from her falling on them. I own a lot of other OT toys made out of all kinds of plastic, including Volks Dollfie, with soft squishy plastic parts like DD and Smart Dolls. Those have been displayed since I purchased them more than twenty years ago, and I don't see any yellowing, or unevenness In color, compared to the plastic that is exposed to artificial light to the parts that are covered with wigs or clothes. Hope that helps. (:[\font]
