I've already sent them an email about this, but has anyone else tried to order from promiseotw.com and had issues with payment? I know a little while back they were having problems with the system but I hadn't gotten any news about them getting it completely fixed. I tried to send in my order today but PayPal wouldn't let me confirm payment because their account was not accepting payment. Any news/info would be appreciated!
I'm having a huge issue with payment also. I have a large group order that I have been trying to place for over a week. They have emailed me reassuring that they are working on the paypal problem, I haven't seen any progress yet.
UPDATE: The admin's responded to me! They'll have their PayPal account back up and running this Sunday, so make your orders then!
Update: I made my order on October 30, and the order status changed to "Delivered" on November 19, but I still haven't received my package. Has anyone else gotten their clothes from PotW yet?
Oh girl you have to be careful with this company . I will list my whole experience here : On Oct 16th I made an order through their website of 10 items : $254.60 through paypal. I received their confirmation and everything sounds good. I contacted them earlier during october "wrote on 10th Oct, received answer by 15th Oct" and asked them about their production time, they informed me they are changing the website domain, and all the orders will be paused for shipping until November 15th. They told me if I ordered now, they can ensure that by 15th of Nov, I will get the shipping notice, so I did. I waited for them until 15th of Nov, but nothing I heard from them, so I said ok couple more days. By 18th Nov, I wrote to them, but they didn't replay. I got an email letter by Nov23rd saying that they are sorry for the delay and that all the orders will be shipped by 1st of December. I waited patiently but no order was shipped so I wrote to them again, On 5th of Dec they told me they will have all my order shipped, which they did, but the tracking they gave "didn't work!" .. I contacted them 2 days after and asked them about it, and they gave me a new tracking number and apologize for the mistake. That didn't work and it never did! I got the tracking number on 8th of Dec, which is the last time I heard from them. I started to write to them daily since 12th of Dec up to 22nd and they ignored it all. No sign or replay. I was hopeless, and I knew other people who ordered from them and got nothing. I also passed the Paypal dispute time and can't get my money, so I was out of hope when I decided to contact a Chinese friend of mine ~ to see if she can get a contact on them. Since I did that, things has speed up! I contacted my friend, she found them on Taobao, wrote to them and they replayed to her instantly, they told her a "lie" about my order got shipped and the delivery company must lost it "WHAT !?". She was formal with them, we also threaten them to write to taobao about them, and submit this experience on a chinese known bjd forum, so they told: with in 24 hours I will get a package shipped to my way with my items and a new tracking number" O.O;; no production time, no delay nothing! My order is coming to me .. and it will be shipped. So in less than 24 hours, POTW wrote to my email ! When I sent them million of emails to all the addresses they have "3 email addresses" and they wrote me nothing. I got a tracking number on last Saturday, it only activated on Tuesday but now, my order is moving to my city and I should receive it tonight ! I donno if it is complete or not but GOD .. without my friend, I couldn't even get a hold on them or get my items. I don't think they cared to send me anything knowing that I can't charge them through paypal anymore. I don't trust them and all I know, if I ever will get anything from them, it would be through a Taobao agent only
Lortie have problems with them too .. She didn't get her order of a dress ! =( .. No one seems to be able to catch on them .. if you still can open a dispute just OPEN it directly .. they are not safe. I just got my order, it is all there, well packed and everything but without my Chinese friend I would got nothing! I am very upset with how they do this with no regret or morality
Here's my experience with them... In early October, I placed an order for a couple shirts. The order didn't go through, so I placed it a second time. I then was charged for both orders, but luckily after contacting them, I was issued a refund for one. It did take about a week for them to respond. Because my order was messed up, they gave me a $20 off of my next order coupon. So, I placed a second order for a couple more things. A couple weeks went by and no word, so I contacted them. I finally received notice at the beginning of November saying that my orders would be shipped together on the 17th. I then contacted them asking to be refunded the shipping for one of my orders since they ended up shipping them together. A week or so passed and finally they said that they would refund me. I still have not been refunded. In addition, about mid November, they told me they lost BOTH of my orders and that I need to send them a link to each individual item I order. I did so asap. I never received a response, so I asked if they had received my email and finally they responded say yes. Now, November 17th has long since passed and my order was never shipped, to my knowledge. I sent them an email about a week or two ago and still have no heard word of my order. I finally filed a paypal claim, however, was only able to do so for one of my orders since I guess paypal won't allow to claims open at the same time in regards to the same seller.

I can't believe it .. don't you know anyone who have access to Taobao ~ you just need that as they are hiding of us there. I truly fully understand them : They actually have no access to their paypal now : something with their account on hold or they just ignore it, donno because you can order now nicely. On other hand, they truly took me only 2 days of communication with my friend, to send my full order ! And they told her: everything is available and stocked, we can send it now. My feeling is : They took my money, then after PP dispute period, they wanted to just hang on me. My friend even called EMS for both of the parcel tracking numbers I got, and she was told, if it is not working, it means the person just never delivered the package yet. GOSH! So they lie and lie and lie. I think anyone handle taobao orders, or work an agent can help you. If you are welling to post your information like: the order number, your real name, and your PP transaction number, date of order. PM me that and I will see if I can ask my friend to check on them if she gets free. I gave her a hint earlier yesterday that I am one of 4 others now! But she must be not understand why I tell her that and I donno if she would be free to help. She contacted them during her work time, so we will see.. I don't promise anything ! I will just do what I can do, try to ask the person who helped me if they can help you guys. I hate to see your orders not arriving, kind of NOT fair =( Ok . My friend said she will do her best. She had to fight with them a lot for my order, to be proccessed. She can't guarantee that they will listen to her now or will be welling to co-operate as she was threatening them a lot. She doesn't want you to be disappointed and she informed me to let you all know: She will ask them politely and she don't want to fight with them. If they agreed to talk to her and send your orders, then it is all good. If not, she doesn't want to fight again . I need : Your order # [ from their website ] Your PP transaction # [ from paypal ] Your email address you used Your Full real name How many items in your order ?! If you gave me that. I will be able to talk to them, and have your order discussed. That's the information they asked from me and I gave to my friend earlier to get my order .
I am in the same predicament, placed my order on September 19. Was told that my order had shipped, then there was a problem and then my order was marked as not paid blah... promise of the world indeed.... Of course I am over the 45 paypal days.... Since they had an event I didn't think too much of the 45 days passing.... I asked for a refund on December 19th and got a reply that they will send a refund but that they can't access the email adress anymore and ask me to ask them for a refund on paypal... I told them I couldn't and that they should refund on my paypal adress.... No news from then on.... EDIT: I got an email today saying they sent my refund. Paypal address was [email protected] I lost 8$ in paypal fee but I am not gonna complain about it cause I got my money at least....
I am hopping they are getting their things together and make it work.... It's a shame because their clothes are adorable....

My friend want to contact them one time, because she can't garantee if she did it more than once, they will co-operate so if anyone else want to give me or not, there details just let me know. My order is #60 ~ both of the people contacted me have their order numbers before mine .. I am very sorry for a person who wrote to me because she ordered 50 items, and her order number is #37 ! I donno about them but truly that is TOO much to steal in their pockets =(
Oh wow. There is a big group order from the MP also going through this with POTW. I know that everyone just wants their items. :'( I looked them up a few days ago and noticed that they had feedback on taobao, as well as posted new items not long ago! But they ignore any emails people have been sending in English. Really not a good way to run a business. Chocoang3l, how is the quality of the items? I'm gonna be sad if they are as nice as they look, and we won't get ours!
They are VERY beautiful sadly . I can't believe they could send great packages but they decided not to . I will make a slide show of my photos which I took during box opening .. and will upload it to youtube. When I do, I will leave the link here . And their black dress, I left it for 20 min and it appears great .. washed, ironed .. & NO staining on my doll ! .. Wow, I'm glad I found this thread. I've got a $150 order sitting in my shopping cart, but now I'll definitely rethink my purchase. I don't need the items *that* badly.
WOW. How do you not have international orders? They've been emailing international customers saying to wait, wait! And it seems plenty of people have ordered from them. The amounts people have paid are not something you just forget about...
Mirchira .. They are responding which is good. My friend believes they will give us hopefully the tracking number for the 2 people who I wrote on their behave .. On other hand, they are a very bad business. They don't seem to know what they are doing. Lots of orders are made but had no clue of! I don't think they can run this business. It is stressing for the buyers and even my friend is telling me not to buy from them again directly. I advice everyone to go through an agent though taobao .. That would be more guaranteed as they respond there and easy to find. Most of the time we find them online around our times, which is good. On other hand, we already transferred to them the information we knows of . That there is international orders waiting to hear from them, including a big order of $800 + . That people at international forum are very upset with them and that they have lots of people write to them but they don't replay. We told them we need answers and we want to get the tracking for those "we talked on their behalf" and we asked them to respond to their email. We told them their imagine is bad in international forums. So I hope this make things better for some of you .. !

I hope everyone who is considering ordering from them looks here and at thier feedback and considers carefully or has a friend who is chinese! I know they have a paypal dispute open for us... how have they not noticed? Its soo unfortunate there seem to be so many untrustworthy shops in this hobby
I ordered from them at the end of oktober/beginning of november... (+/- 80 dollars) They promised me multiple times to send out the items and never did. They lied to me about several things. Than they stopped e-mailing me. mid december I tried contact them trough paypal they had 10 days to respond but they never did. It was turned into a claim (again they gained ten days to respond) but they never replied... I got my money back this week. :l Never ordering from the again! (The clothes & the prices looked to good to be true : ( )
I purchased $40 worth of clothing from POTW. My order was #54. They claimed they would be shipping my items on Nov 16th, and that they would send me a tracking number there after. I never heard back from them. A week later I sent my first message asking about my order, and over the 3 weeks following that nearly 5 more messages which all received NO response what so ever. I tried to contact paypal to get my money back but since it had been over 45 business days they could not help me. Coincidence how they told me it would take around 50 business days to even ship my order, they played it perfectly so that they knew I could not be refunded through paypal. Total bullshit. I'm out the money and the clothing....*siiiigh* This company is a SCAM. DON'T ORDER FROM THEM.
Hi everyone .. Good news & some explanations : Both of the people contacted me will get their orders ~ I am on the way to update them about it. One already about to arrive and the other will ship by next week. On other hand, POTW is not a BIG shop . We were informed that only 2 tailors and a staff of 4 people work in this company. It is not a company but a single artist / family work. So they can't fulfill all of our orders in time. They say they have a huge market to their ability to cover and some of the orders have lots of pieces, 50 - 80 in one order, they have no power to finish that all. They try to finish orders by time, as they seem to be stuck with some orders before. Any group order they receive or any big order they receive .. they work on and what ever smaller order come afterward, is stuck because of this. My opinion : They are good people that running the business, BUT they are NOT good in business management. It is 2 different things. It seems things are going out of control with them and they have NO idea how to control it. They sure need a business dealer or they will be screwed in no time { well they are !!! } On our contact with them, the first answers they give : we sent the item, no order on hold. I am not sure why honestly but it seems they are under lots of stress and they just want to dismiss any questions or any communication. We needed to dig in deeper for the person in contact to go check the shop record and tell us the "truth" .. They just don't deal with it and have NO idea how to control the sum of orders delayed, not done or on hold! I feel sorry for them because honestly the quality of items they offer, is good. But they have no control over the business. It seems they need urgent help or they will sink down deep. So to those still waiting, I know they suck. They don't communicate international customers, replay to them or keep them in contact. They are just very bad with it. But upon to our experience "me and my friend" we came to see they are not truly this bad, they are just NOT able to cover our demands. They opened a business which is bigger than them. They were only an etsy store which sold few clothes but wanted to have their own shop . So it is still the same staff in the etsy store. 2 people handling the shipping / boxing / communication . 2 people handling the hand work. Honestly looking at it, they sound a bit crazy to open up an international ordering website and open for random quantities of orders without a control.
Me and my boyfriend talked about this last night I think we were right. At the beginning I thought just a hand full of people had ordered from them but when I read that there were orders over $800,- I think they just couldn't stand the pressure (It's just all small company after all) If I opened a little shop I would shocked by orders that big...
exactly .. until now I got contacted by people who have 50 - 54 - 82 items in their orders !!!!! And then there is us with 5 - 8 - 12 items .. OMG they are drowning in orders .. lol I donno why they opened their shop to have like 10 pieces of each single item can be purchased per order. If you go and check, you can order endless items .. they are sinking truly. They needed to control their shop before they opened it. May be their website programmer didn't do them good with the countless amount of clothes you can shop. I think they should close, after getting done with orders, produce some items and get them in hand .. then start again .. with a limit of 5 per item .. then if they see more demand on certain item .. they can fix it . I feel sorry for whoever is running the business, they seem to be in-experience. I understand their pressure, when I used to make jewelries and got giant orders of 100 piece for cupcake toppings , or keychains for companies .. I used to be panicking .. in need to close my shop and work 24/7 to finish in time .. ! They have to make a plan then it would work . Otherwise they are dying and we are getting angry for being ignored, lied to and not treated well when we paid expecting something. Very sorry but : My friend is not going to talk to POTW anymore =( . All the orders we got the information of, we contacted on their behave. But I understand that she is very upset when she talk to them and they give her hard time to respond and do the right thing . It is not a very smooth deal. i don't want to bother my friend more, sorry guys I wish I could help all of you but they are torture and I don't want to upset my good friend To those we helped .. I will update you on your orders .. and to those who got to us late, we are very sorry but truly we can't ask them about each order in separate times. Now I have 3 orders to talk on their behave .. and before I talked on behave of 2. The other people who didn't write to me in time, I understand time difference and life but you have to understand .. my friend also initially wanted to speak one time only. Update: My order arrived today! Everything I order was there and beautifully packed. All the garments are wonderfully made and the fabrics are beautiful. It's a shame they're so unorganized, I would love to order from them again. But, I don't think I'll ever do so, there were way too many things that went wrong. I am very happy with my order though and feel like it was worth the wait.

I am glad to hear some of you got your orders I think they should have stayed an etsy shop or opened smaller... They look like great quality but they been blacklisted for me and a lot of people too I am sure.
Aileen Doll was in the same spot to me last year . They were horrible, their dragon were chipping paint, scratches on the body because of his black nails and everything was TOTALLY horrible. But after confronting them and seeing the demand of the community .. They improved and learnt their lesson . I ordered from them again this year, and when I put my first dragon / second dragon together .. you could tell a huge difference .. My first is dirty, chipped paint, bad painting job, and it looks like pigmented. It looks so cheap! The new one is a gorgeous quality the airbrushing is gorgeous and he is amazing by all mean .. I even hate to put my dragons next to each other, the first one is looking "ew" to me. I even don't want to have him no more :/ I think POTW, should be more as "get their lesson" and try to improve their acts. I can see they need to hire a business staff, so this person can run a business for them. The person who runs their administration work is not good enough... actually is very bad.
I was going to order from them, but decided not to after watching the video DenaliWind posted and reading this thread. I can't believe what you all have gone through! They really need to close the shop, catch up on orders, produce a few of each item and then just reopen the shop with the quantities of what they actually have. It sounds like etsy was a better fit for their capabilities. :/
I tried to order from them before the holidays. I put items in my cart but I couldn't check out and pay for them. So I sent them an email for which I didn't get a reply. Thank you all for sharing your experiences. I hope they'll overcome their difficulties. If I'll ever get a reply I'll post it here.
I ordered from them in April of this year. It is my understanding that they only sell items that are already made and in stock now. I think previously they took orders for things not yet made and they couldn't keep up. Anyhow after placing my order for two sets of seifuku I received my package about 2-ish weeks after I placed my order. Communication was kind of slim and strangely I received a DHL delivery notice via a text on my cellphone but never a tracking number or notice of shipping from the company. It was like surprise your order is coming tomorrow. XD The quality of their product is excellent for the price and it comes packed/packaged very well. Overall I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt that they have fixed their business problems, after all I had no issue with my order. That being said, I'd just say proceed with caution, and place a smaller order to test the waters if you are nervous.
Hi all, Just wanted to add to this… I placed a large order ($300+US) on 19.7.14. Over a week passed and I never heard anything (I only ordered items listed as in stock). As my order was also still listed as pending (even though I ordered and paid at the same time), I emailed to ask about it. I sent around 4 emails (all unanswered) before I found two other email addresses for them. I emailed these also and one of them got back a day later saying I'd have tracking no later than Sunday (3.8.14). Sunday night came and I never received my tracking so I emailed again. Almost instantly, my order was changed from 'pending' to 'delivered'. No tracking was supplied, my email wasn't responded to and my order certainly wasn't delivered, so I emailed them again. And again. And again. I then opened a Paypal dispute with no action on their part so I escalated it two days before the claim was due to expire. On Tuesday I received an email from Paypal with a tracking number and my items arrived today (21.8.14). My tacking says the item was lodged 18.8.14 - NOT 3.8.14 when my tracking was promised and my items marked a delivered. All in all, just over a month turnaround which I think is fine. I would order from them again but I would 100% follow the same steps I did this time. There is NO WAY I would not file the claim if they hadn't sent my stuff. I don't trust them enough for that. The items are beautiful but I can easily see them screwing people over as I'm sure they would have done to me. Hope this was helpful!
The website is back up and I received my order today. The items came nicely packaged and are beautifully made! I placed my order on 14.8. and got the "delivered" update on 01.09. I asked them in an email to switch shipping from EMS to DHL and they apparently did (or they just sent it with DHL in the first place). Later, I asked them again for a tracking number as I didn't receive one. I've never gotten any replies to my emails though.
Oh god that's so sad... They have a lote of beautiful clothes... And the webside doesn't receive payments right now. Paypal mark an error stating that it is from the web.
I bought directly from their taobao site. fyi, I have minimal chinese, so had to use google translate. Took a while though, I think about 6 weeks? Part of the delay was due to Chinese national public holidays. But they did response to queries using the QQ/msn (built-in) in taobao. Their items are, imho, well made, one of the pants has lining. The t-shirt has back snap :/ but I suppose it helps so no need to take off head to put on.

I wouldn´t panic yet. They never answer mails, it seems, but everytime I ordered from them, I received my items. Usually it took a month or a little bit longer til they were sent. But I agree it´s rather stressful if there is no communication.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I love the clothes, but now I'm a little leery of buying from them. I suppose I could place the order and just file a paypal dispute if they don't show up within 45 days, but I don't know if that's a risk I'm willing to take.

Paypal refunded all the money. Promise's people never answered even after paypal dispute was closed I'm super sad because i cannot find any similar clothes like they do.
Oh noes, that sucks are you going to try via taobao? I totally feel the same, their clothes are exactly what I was looking for for some of my girls so it sucks if we can't order from them at all...
Their taobao shop is missing a huge portion of their stock (they only have ribbons and bloomers!), and their homepage description says something about moving to a new facility. I really hope they pull their act together in the meantime.
I asked my local agent and he said that he doesn't know if the tao shop is active or not. So we can know it only by placing orders. But I'm really tired of all this headache with refunds and wait time will try to sew by myself
I should have mentioned it earlier, but the Taobao shop actually restocked a few weeks ago. They've released two new dresses, have sold several items since, and the most recent review I could find on the site was from Nov. 2nd and was quite positive. At this point I'd say that they've mostly abandoned their international support and are focusing on their domestic sales.
I was thinking about ordering some stuff from promise of the world but, I'm not so sure now after reading this thread. Do you find the service any better when ordering through a dealer like Legend Doll, for example?
