We're in too. I already had Mookie snowboarding for one of the other challenges so we will have to think of something else for this one. But he's a fun lovin' little guy so I am sure he can think of something. Me? Not so much a fan of snow and cold weather. Does sitting by the window with a cup of hot cocoa watching it snow count as an activity?

I really struggled with this challenge. I just got finished and had to take my own pictures which explains the crappy quality. Normally, my friend at work who has a better camera to work with and way more photographic abilities takes them for me.











These are pictures of work that was done within the proper time frame in spite of the date stamp on the pictures. I am sure it is super simple but I have not figured out how to change the date.

I just started working on this project, I have one item finished but need to get a more suitable outer fabic tomorrow. As soon as I have the other pattern drawn up I'll post a pic. Sometimes it takes awhile to get into the groove, but once started is when the fun starts

 

I haven't had the time to actually sit down and sketch out ideas but I have plenty floating around my head lol.

 

I have my typical problem - narrowing it down to one idea.

 

I started a drawing of my project outfit but didn't have the time to start sewing for now. I'll try to start sewing this week-end !

 

Hey, guys, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to withdraw and I feel a need to explain why, because I might be withdrawing permanently, and you've all become quite dear to me. This has been really hard to write so please bear with me.

Ever since the Poobanator was disqualified I've tried to make lemonade out of the situation, but I have to admit, every time I try to work on a challenge, the pain and disappointment of that decision rises all over again. Not because I didn't win, but because it all felt so unnecessarily arbitrary and negative at a very special time in my life, my wedding to my partner of over twenty years. I'd signed up for the challenge before we actually set the date for the wedding (yeah, we organized it in less than a month. ) I was prepping for a wedding, building a new pond for the backdrop to the arbor, and getting the boys ready for their part all in the same month.

I don't like copping out on a promise, so I combined the challenge with my real life and I thought and still think rather cleverly so. It was made in the month and according to all the rules. I just let it do double duty. I saw nothing in the rules about no pix being posted of the outfit prior to the challenge, so thought nothing about it when I put up wedding pix, and still do not see how it violates the spirit of the rules. I acknowledge how the judges interpreted the specifics of the rules and their right to do so, and I hold nothing against them, but I can't help the fact that it feels very arbitrary and ill-timed and just, well, negative.

I beg you all to remember, this is a game. It's supposed to be fun. I love you all, including the judges, but for now, I think I'm going to have to bow out.

Oh boy, this isn't good news at all and I wish you would reconsider Vindalootoo! I respect how you feel and hope you will be back in the games soon, will miss 'The Poobanator' and the designs you come up with

 

Thanks...I'm really bummed. Sniveled the whole time I wrote that. I love the inspiration of this game! But I just realized that's why I just haven't been able to get enthused about any of the challenges. Self-realization is a two-edged sword. OTOH...maybe now I have my finger on it, my dumb gut will put it to rest.

I am reluctant to do this but it is already the 22nd and I haven't come up with a concrete idea that I want to do so I am going to withdraw. I also have quite a few things that others want of me so my time has become extremely tight. This is the second time I've bowed out on a winter theme and I really like the season. I still have the items from the last one in various stages of completion. Maybe next winter - third time's a charm?

I'm so late, after 3 weeks of entertaining stateside company, I'm now ready to move on!

first i tried vinyl pants and they looked dumb. made another pair, digging through my stuff and found some fun material so the others seem boring now. anyways... starting on the 3rd pair of pants tomorrow and should be able to finish.

Due to some serious health issues, I will be unable to participate this time. I am going to have to withdraw. I had some good ideas too.

 

I have all my fabric picked out and ready. I hope to start sewing tonight.

 

I'm sorry but I won't be able to made it in times because I got sick -nothing serious, just a nasty cold which make you sleep all day you know- so I will have to withdraw. I won't be able to have something finished as I hardly started by now, I'm sorry. But I'm looking forward to see everyone's creations !

The weather forcast said that there will be a little snow in the coming days so I will wait a little

 

I'm almost finished, just need to hand sew a few snaps, plus work on fake snow.......it's in the 80's here so this is the best I can do!

So sorry to hear that some of you had to drop out of the contest. It is always such fun to see the different interpretations of a theme. Awesome outfits FloraLaguna and Blue Oracle. As usual, I will need that extension please. So far all I have is a scarf that I crocheted but I don't like the way it turned out. I just got in the house after 3 hours shoveling snow so "Fun in the Snow" is not exactly my favorite phrase.

 

Can I request an extension too please.

Thanks everyone! I am obsessed with old world gnomes so I was delighted to see that vibe come through. I wish I could fib and say I handsewed the stitching but I cannot; my Brother SE400 has all these really awesome detailing stitches and I am having so much fun learning how to get them all to work lol.

PRGerry- Oh I bet that fishing license is adorable! I would love to see it; as a conservation officer I look at fishing licenses all the time so a doll sized one would be killer. Although so long as Spanky is under the age of 16 he is welcome to fish here in PA without a license. Just tell him to be careful on the ice!
