    2. I asked the MODS if we could 'advertise' PR in other sub forums. This is her answer. I hope everyone will help to promote our game! **************** Unfortunately, dedicated threads just to bring attention to PR wouldn't be appropriate in the other subforums and non-game sections. However, you do have some other options --
--why don't you and/or some of the other participants create some kind of notice and link for your signatures? Signatures go everywhere on the forum that you go, and might well attract more people to take a look at the game.
--you could also put up a gallery thread highlighting some of the interesting outfits or presentations you've made for past editions of the game, and you can mention to others that they can do so as well. Or a group gallery post of a couple of past presentations (just be sure to get permission from each member before posting a picture of their doll). End it with a link to the current edition of the game.
--there are a number of specialized sewing-related threads in Sewing and Crafting for showing off one's creations. Sharing past creations there might interest other creative people to come take a look as well.
Hope this gives you some ideas!

    3. Those are actually great suggestions. A gallery thread is a great idea. Not just the winners, but any of the outfits you can get permission to post.

Taking the rest of my post to the discussion thread. More appropriate there.

As for this challenge...Wow...I dunno! I'm finally on a diet that's working and the thought of thinking candy is...ARGH! I'll see if something occurs to me that I could do without letting candy in the house..... Is it just candy? Or can we do any kind of sweets?

    4. Sorry to tempt you! I know how hard it is to turn your back on goodies! lol! Since the challenge is called Eye Candy it's limited to all types of candy ~ even low calorie and sugar free! Maybe you could make a 'healthy' outfit!

Here is Mookie in all his regal glory as Prince of Candy Land.
      FRONT VIEW

DETAIL #1 Candy corn crown, Cotton candy hair, Rock candy necklace, Kiss emblem
      [IMG]

REAR VIEW - Cape made from Tootsie Roll Pop wrappers (with some gold trim as befits his princely status)

DETAIL #2 - Rear view of silver jumpsuit (as influenced by a Hershey Kiss; silver wrapper with Kissy lips on front). Plus, Mookie just loves shiny things.

      FRONT VIEW without cape
      [IMG]

GLAMOUR SHOT - includes sceptor made from lolly pop stick with gummy bear embellishment on top
The m&m on the wall refers to the dual Candy Land leaders, Prince Mookie and his twin sister Princess MeeMee. Since other dolls are not allowed in the pictures, MeeMee only gets an indirect reference.

Entire outfit is made from candy!! The hair ribbon, top, part of the skirt, and the little straps for the shoes are from sour gummy ribbon candy. The hair is made from red licorice. The skirt is a watermelon gummy cut in half, while the shoes are from a gummy frog.

      Details:
Details of the faux fur boot covers that reminded me of cotton candy, the textured fabric of the stockins, top and top part of the skirt I used to give a rock candy effect (the photos don't show the shine/sparkle very well) and the bottom of the skirt is a rounded pleating inspired from the ribbon candy.

Closer look at the top in the same textured fabric as the stockings and top of the skirt. The heart on the halter top I made to look like a conversation heart candy and a faux fur shrug to match the leg covers in cotton candy yellow. Fun little props/accessories to resemble a marshmallow twirly lollipop and candy bracelets.

      Glamour:
Finished look..My white chocolate moose ready to go raving...lol.. I also created the wig and did her faceup to go along with the theme.

Sweet Inspiration: A lolita-inspired outfit consisting of a blouse, tulle petticoat, and heart-patterned overdress made via a combination of hand and machine sewing. The blouse has functional buttons. The dress has a velcro closure. The accessories are a sash, purse, and hair ribbons. (The shoes were purchased and are not part of the entry)

The real candy: The sash, hair accessories, and ruffle at the bottom of the skirt were made of sour gummy ribbon candy. The blue heart buttons on the dress, sash and hair accessories are pieces from a candy necklace. The handle of Ally's bag is made of a Warheads sour candy cane.

He'd be happy and I'd have fullfilled my duty to the thread! :D Not much of a costume, but then...he doesn't like clothes much anyway. :D Looking forward to seeing what you far more clever folks come up with.

    55. All done. YAY!! Good thing too. Otherwise, I would have been forced to eat more candies to determine what I should use.

    59. Posted my pics! I finally was able to get the candy to work with me - the fridge did indeed help! I enjoyed eating the outfit after I was done  And she did get a good washing afterwards as well!

I love seeing everyone's candy outfits!! They all look delicious :)

    60. I'm having major issues with my glamor photo showing up way to large... I've gone ahead and submitted it to stay within the deadline, and I'm hoping it doesn't end up disqualifying me. I'm going to attempt to resize it again, but I'm afraid that it will be past the deadline before I get things straightened out...

Nevermind!! I got it fixed in time!
