Hello! I am planning to sculpt some 1/12 mature dolls ... gosh, have I made a challenge for myself here, but I think it will be worth it. I'm prepared for lots of try-and-fail and try again! I'm curious to know what the criteria is for "meeting professional standards" for casting as mentioned in the rules for doll inclusion on DoA? Obviously I'm just starting the journey but I want to set sights on creating dolls that really meet the metrics of true BJD as defined in the rules. Thanks for any inputs! Maxa
That is probably something best asked in the "Ask the moderators" forum, as it is only they who can answer. But I do know from personal experience that there is some additional hidden criteria as well. They have to decide that they are happy with the scuplting quality, for one thing and that includes things like the finish on the inside of the pieces and unintentional asymetry (I don't know how they know what is intentional or not, though, they never said).
Fair enough! Thank you for your response. The way it was written in the rules, I guess I had assumed there was some set of standards true across the resin-casting world. I'll check in with the moderators
