Oooooh dear. So, if you know, Strawberrysodaz had a problem with a damaged doll and Demon Garden as well. My problem isn't to the extent of her predicament,... but it's still a problem. I ordered two Demon Garden NS Yellow boy bodies, for my MNMs. Since I'm too young to have Ebay(I'm currently 16), I contacted the seller directly explaining I wanted to purchase two bodies directly with paypal. All was fine and dandy until I opened the box. One was fine and is in perfect condition. The other has a broken ankle. The foot wasn't attached to one leg, which was rather odd, and after unwrapping the bubble wrap I came across the rather large chip in his ankle. Hit seems somehow his foot came off (it's completely intact) and the s-hook for his foot snapped up into his leg. On both the dolls, the stringing isn't that tight. It's fairly normal and would defiantly not cause this problem... So I don't know how it happened. The two pieces of the chip were in the box, and I still have them, but since this doll was brand new, I wanted a replacement part. So I see the damage and think "No biggie, it happens. I just e-mail them with pictures, descriptions of the damage and they send me a replacement." Here are some pictures of the damage -> Pictures from the night of opening: Next Day photos: As you can see the chip is much to large to sand out, so I figured it wouldn't be too much to ask for a replacement part. I e-mail them that night (July 23rd, 2009)- I get an email back from them, the next morning on July 24th, 2009. So, everything is hunky dory and I'm getting my new leg piece...... But I haven't heard from them since. I've sent them exactly 5 e-mails and a PM to date about the problem. I even tried contacting Happy House to see if they could do anything (but naturally since my transaction wasn't through them, they can't help me. They said they would try to contact Demon Garden for me, however.) Frankly, I'm at a loss of what to do and I'm extremely upset. I thought about the possibility of calling them and snarking over the phone, but who knows how that might turn out... do they even speak English? I've also thought about filing a report with PayPal. It's a minor defect, but if I'm paying so much money for my dolls, I want them perfect(no scratches, kinks or chips) on arrival. Pleaseeee let me know if you have any advice... This is all giving me such a big headache!
I would send another e-mail saying you'll file a paypal claim if you don't hear back from them. (They don't deserve the notice, but from what I've heard about DG, they're liable to flip their you-know-what and blacklist you if you just file the claim without telling them.) Definitely make sure that you get the claim filed with paypal before your time runs out, even if DG claims to have sent replacement parts to you.
Okay D; Sounds like a good idea. I don't know a whole lot about paypal claims, since this is my first problem I've had. Augh, I'll defiantly look into that though~ Thanks D:
Definately file the claim now to be safe since they seem to be taking their sweet time over things. They have a history of being obnoxious about these things so I'd make good and sure you were covered. Explain all this in a mail to them and see what happens. Worst comes to it, you get your money back at least if you file now.
From advice from you guys~ I have- 1). E-mailed DG, AGAIN (My 6th e-mail to them) telling them I will file a PayPal claim against them. 2). I tried to file a claim... But the day after I sent them my first email, was the 45th day,... meaning it's impossible to file a claim now.] (The day I paid was June 11th. I opened the box July 23rd (day 43). If I knew this was going to happen I would've filed a claim when I opened the box...) -bashes head against wall- AUGH. Maybe my PayPal claim e-mail will scare them into sending the leg piece... This is absolutely ridiculous... Let this be a word of caution to anyone wanting to buy from DG, do it through Happy House!
Have you tried calling the paypal Help line? Sometimes It would help if you spoke to a representative directly to put forth your argument. Tell them (The operator) that Demon Garden has a history of "Flaking" or not doing as they promise as a Company. If you need to, you can get in contact with Strawberrysodaz or others to confirm this. It's likely that Paypal will blacklist Demon Garden if they continue to send out broken merchandise without sending replacements in a timely manner. With all this Negative press Demon Garden is getting, they really must not care about their products or customers.
Another Update: Alright so hopefully this is the end of this. I contacted Happy House again, desperate for something to do. I told them my situation again and said that I'd even be willing to pay them if they could get me a replacement leg. They were very kind and asked me to send pictures of the damage, which I did. They then forwarded this toD emon Garden. At this point I was like, "Uugh, If they don't respond to me, maybe DG will respond to HappyHouse." I was extremely surprised to find this e-mail the next day: FINALLY! Although if you read the e-mail closely, they apologize for the confusion... what confusion? All they did was lie to me and then not respond to a single one of my e-mails thereafter... I don't think there's any confusion in that... Just bad service. I sent them my info and I'm waiting for a response currently. Ohh my gosh I hope this is finally resolved. I'm still nevereverever buying from Demon Garden again, but I'm happy to see that this is moving somewhere.
Newest update ! FINALLY. I sent them another e-mail to thank them, and to double check that the leg is exactly what I need. So I once it gets here, and all goes well, we can lock the thread because the problem has been resolved :'D! But only after the leg gets here~ Ahhh I'm so grateful to Happy House for getting me in contact with the actual DG head, as apposed to the unreliable EBay representative~
Just looking for a little clarification as I am thinking about buying a Demon Garden body: did the email from the people Happy House hooked you up with come from the same source as the ebayer? Or to put it another way, was the person on ebay actually part of the company, or a retailer who signs their emails "Demon Garden?" I ask because it seems really schizophrenic of the company to be so reliable trough one source and not another, particularly if the unreliable source is supposedly affiliated directly with the company. A retailer would also go a long way to explaining why they apologized for the confusion and promised to look into the "agent."
Ooh thats fun... I'm glad I saw this, cause I was debating buying a DG Derek.. If I do, I'm definitely going through happyhouse
