Resolved Problem with a split with siteblock

    1. Hi everybody,

      I'm very disppointed and I don't know what to do, so I post my problem here.

      I have made an Iplehouse split, I took the body and siteblock took the head and the outfit.
      This order is well arrived at the Chronopost office in my town but there are Customs fees to pay. So, I have contacted siteblock for she send me her part of Customs fees by Paypal that I can go take the package and send her part of the order.
      But siteblock refuse to pay any Customs fees! I already paid alone for shipping costs from Iplehouse to me and I can't pay alone for Customs fees, so I can't go take the package.

      What can I do to resolve this problem? I'm so worried about this...

    2. I am equally concerned about this. We don't have customs fees in the US and I did not hear anything about the fees until yesterday. Paying 116euros that I did not know about in advance is quite a shock. I am still trying to determine what is the most appropriate thing to do next.

    3. You have to understand that we never know in advance if there will are Customs fees or not AND we never know the amount of Customs fees in advance. The amount depends of the value declared by the seller and of the shipment company. And, honestly, I never understand how they calculate taxes.
      You have to understand too that I'm angry too about these fees, but it's not my choice!

      Honestly I never seen before somebody who refuse to participate to Customs fees during a split...

      Finally, you have to understand that we CAN'T get our package if we don't pay these fees and I CAN'T pay alone.

      So, please, keep me informed about how do you want to proceed?

    4. I've been thinking about this quite a lot, hoping to come up with a fair solution. What happens if we don't pay the customs? If it goes back to Iplehouse, can we have Iplehouse ship it to me? I'm pretty sure it would be under$100 and no customs. Then, of course, I would ship the body to you, but I am certain it would be less than what you are being billed now.

    5. Are you joking with me? Remind that I paid $90 for shipping costs from Iplehouse to me. And now you want to say that I paid this for NOTHING???
      Chronopost said to me that if we don't pay Customs fees, maybe the package will be send back to Iplehouse and maybe they will destroy the merchandise if the costs is to high to send back the package. It depends if Iplehouse taked an big insurance or not!
      Moreover, shipping costs for our order from Iplehouse to USA are $105 and I don't want to re-pay for shipping costs!
      So, if we choose your "solution", we take the risk to loose our order! And will you refund me for the loss? Because Iplehouse wouldn't make any refund!
      So you want to take this risk, and you accept that I paid shipping costs for nothing, just to save about $20???

      I'm sorry but I not agree to take a so big risk and to loose so lot of money.
      I already have big health problems and this matter with you made me more sick again. I never seen that before. I'm so tired about this.

      So, please, please, find a good solution. I don't want to loose my order and loose all this money. You know that Iplehouse will never make a refund for this order.

    6. The only thing I can propose to you is that I pay Customs fees now and you pay to me your part in 2 or 3 times. In this case, I will send you the part of your order when I receive your last payment.
      It's my better proposition, even if I have to borrow money to advance all Customs fees. But I don't see other solution.

    8. From my perspective, you have received $468, as agreed according to the terms of the split. I also agreed to pay shipping costs from you to me. I purchase from Iplehouse quite a lot and I know things are expensive. I know you wanted the HID body and I chose to participate in the split because I was willing to pay these amounts for the head and to add the outfit and additional shipping. All of this was agreed to and paid promptly.

      On Wednesday, I received an email from you saying "Hello, I have a good news and a bad news.
      The good news is that the Iplehouse order has arrived in my town today (it's at the Chronopost office).
      The bad news is that there is Customs fees at 236 euros. So you have to pay 116 euros for Customs fees." Until this time I knew nothing about customs fees, it had not been mentioned in the agreement at all. And it sounds like you were not expecting these fees, which is unrealistic considering you live in France and are familiar with the way business is done. If I had known in advance about these fees, I would not have participated because I know I can get items sent to me without fees and for a standard shipping cost any time I want to. I didn't especially need the Asa head or that outfit.

      From what I have learned the last few days, everyone in the EU knows they will have to pay taxes and fees when an item is purchased from outside of the country. They save up their money so they can pay those fees when the package comes in. It is normal and expected for you. It is not normal for me. It feels like you are demanding ransom. I pay extra or I lose my money. This is no way to conduct business. I have saved the money to cover the shipping from you to me, because that is what we agreed to. I am not prepared to do anything else.

      I'm not a rich person, either. I use layaway a lot and have a very tight budget - especially since I bought some things for my kids and grandkids for Christmas. This surprise expense, as I said before, is a shock.

    9. I can understand your point of vue but, like I explained to you previously, in France, we don't know in advance if there will be Customs fees or not and we don't know the amount in advance. I'm an online retailer, so I know that Customs fees are like "Russian roulette" here in France.
      It's because of that that I didn't told you in advance the amount of Customs fees. And I was sure that I had precised the eventuality of Customs fees in my split thread. But I realize now that I missed it. And, for this, I sincerely apologize. But, however, I well told you that I live in France, so I guessed that you knew Customs fees, sorry again for the shock.
      Now I can't accept when you're telling : "It feels like you are demanding ransom.". In this case, I could tell that Chronopost is demanding ransom for our order. But it's the functionnement of Customs in France, it's not my fault, nor my choice. I'm an honest personn and it's not me who asking you to pay but the French Customs. I'm shoked too when you say things like this.

      Now, like I proposed to you, I can pay Customs fees now to take the package. I really don't want that this order should be destroyed! I'm not neither a rich personn but I can ask borrow.
      Then, you can pay your part to me in 2 or 3 times. In this case, I will send you the part of your order when I receive your last payment.
      It's my better proposition, even if I have to borrow money to advance all Customs fees. But I don't see other solution.
      I think that Shitachi is right, I have to pay quickly to get our package before that Chronopost destroy it. And then, I'll can send you part of the order when you pay your part of Customs fees. Again I'm neither a rich personn, so I can't take at my own charge all Customs fees, but I try to find a solution.

      And, honestly, I don't understand why you was agree to re-pay shipping costs as $100 from Iplehouse to you and not $125 for Customs fees?

    10. I still have to pay shipping from you to me. It was a mistake on your part to fail to mention the fees. I feel bad because I know you are not being dishonest - just made a mistake. But it is a mistake that you expect me to pay for. I will be more careful in the future to ask about customs fees when dealing with purchases from other countries. I am willing to offer half of the amount you are asking for, not because I feel responsible, but because I feel your pain. This means I am willing to pay $58 euros for customs fees plus what it will cost to ship the doll head and outfit to me. If this is not acceptable to you, the only other thing I can suggest is to find someone in your area who wants to purchase the head or the outfit, sell it to them, and send me a refund.

    11. I'm okay that you pay only $58 for Customs fees, even if you don't really let me the choice. But I made a mistake, that I realized only few days ago, so I want to assume. Moreover I'm really tired about this story and I want to close the case.

    12. I am glad we have reached an agreement regarding the customs fees. Now, if we can work out the problem with our shipping costs, everything will be good. You have chosen the Express shipping service, which costs 103,35 Euros with tracking and insurance. This is the most expensive choice of shipping offered by Chronopost/Colissimo. They offer parcel shipping that is a good service but is a LOT less expensive. I have ordered dolls from France and used this service.

    13. Like I explained to you, many, many, many times, the price I gave you IS THE PRICE FOR COLISSIMO. I have an online store, so I know how to ship a package to International. I always use Colissimo, never Chronopost (really too expensive). I really don't know how you can find this price, because shipping costs to US are very more expensive than 26,30 euros!
      Like I explained to you too, the French Post increased their prices on January-1st. But the price I gave you is the real price for a Colissimo to US. I have made a new simulation and it always give me the same price :

    15. The price you gave me is the actual price for EXPRESS SERVICE not STANDARD SERVICE. I had to get help from others in the EU, specifically France, so I have done the research to make sure this is correct. I am not trying to make things difficult for you, but what you are using is an express service and it costs a lot more than the standard service. I will try to demonstrate more clearly.

For this amount of money, I think it was worth it. I don't know what system you are using that prevents you from seeing this, but you need to use a different system.

    16. @sahtyne I have sent you step by step instructions on how to get the parcel postage for this package. I am ready to send payment once I know you will be using the correct shipping method.

      Also, I would like to see pics of my head and the Iplehouse outfit in its package. You don't need to take it out of the package, just take a pic as they came to you.

    17. Thanks but I know how to ship a parcel via standard shipment wiht Colissimo and the price is always 89,53 euros. I'm just waiting for your payment to send your package. I will re-open your package on Friday to take pictures for you (I will don't have the time tomorrow).

    19. @sahtyne, tell you what, don't worry about it. I have come to the conclusion that you are unable to understand or unwilling to try to do this right. Or perhaps you are trying to punish me for refusing to pay customs when customs were not part of the deal. You cannot be trusted to do the right thing. It troubles me that you do not have any negative feedback, when clearly you are difficult to work with. I will be filing a claim with Paypal to get my money back, as well as leaving appropriate feedback in the forum. You do what you want to with those items.

    20. @siteblock, your behavious is really a shame! You want to pretend that I'm a scam, But I'm not! I really tired of you because you make me loose my time and, moreover, you are insulting me now!
      I remind you that I have paid alone shipping costs from Iplehouse to me and I never asked you to pay Paypal fees. Yes, you never asked it to me but you never said thank you! I believe that you want to have Iplehouse things without to pay anything and you want to abuse me but it's YOU the problem! I believe that you are dishonest and manipulative, because you blame me and you pretend that I am dishonest, but I'm not!

      So, it's an extra proof that I tell you the truth about shipping fees from the beginning. Here is the price if I send you the package directly at the Post Office. But if I pay your shipment online, the price is well 89,53 euros.

      So,now, stop to play with me and respect your engagement! I'm only waiting for your payment to send your package!

      It is not my intention to insult you but I have spent many hours researching this and I have talked to many people who tell me the shipping should be only 30 or 31 euros. I even used the La Poste website to get accurate pricing. It is very strange that your pricing is so different from what is available online.

      It is unfortunate that you feel the need to lash out at me. Until I was being charged for things I did not expect or do not need, I paid everything you asked for, on time, as agreed. I have not changed anything. At this point I have only asked for a reasonable method of shipping, which you do not seem to be able to provide. I have verified online the cost of parcel shipping, I have provided for you clear step-by-step instructions so you can see how I came to the price of 31,30 euros. You have NOT provided step by step details of how you are getting the price that you want me to pay for this shipping fee. If you go to the post office and tell them to send a package at the express rate, they will bill that amount, we will pay that amount, and nothing can be done later to change that. Once the money is spent, it is gone. If you go to the post office and request the parcel rate, you only pay the parcel rate. I have had dolls shipped to me from France for far less than this amount you are asking for this small package.

      We seem to be at an impasse. You say the price is one thing, I say it is another. You call me names and insult me, I don't think I've called you names but you feel insulted by me. We clearly are not going to see things the same way.

      How about I just come visit you in France and pick up my things in person?

      I went to the Post office precisely to give you a concrete proof of a cost to ship your package. As you can see on the Post's quote, the price is for a STANDARD shipment, with Colissimo. I don't see how to proof more that I tell you the truth.

      Moreover, you opened a Paypal dispute to be refund, it's really unfair. Because, you just let me the choice between refund you or send your package at my own charge. BUT I CAN'T, because I don't have the money for it. So you try to extort me more money, at least you want that I pay for you.
      And it's on this point that you don't respect DOA rules, because you want that I pay for you AND because you want to leave the split.

      So which more proof do you need to make the payment???

    23. I need you to show me, step by step, on the La Poste website, how you are getting this price. Everyone I have talked to is saying the you are using the Chronopost Express price. Someone sent me this receipt of a shipment received from Dust of Dolls in France. As you can see, the shipping was 2kg box and only 35 euros. Your pricing is not in line with real amounts that other people are using and are being charged. You are the only one I've talked to who gets this price.

      I don't want to back out of the agreement. I want you to use the correct shipping method, at the correct price. If you can't do that, I will do what I need to do to protect myself. If that means I must get a refund from Paypal, then that is what I will do.

      Shipping costs for your package to Spain are 16,15 euros without insurance and 21,15 euros with insurance.

      However if you want to proceed like this, you have to close the Paypal disputes before that I send your package. Indeed, because it will not be your delivery address, I won't have any proof for Paypal that I well sent you the package.

    28. If I close the disputes, you don't have any reason to ship my things at all.

      Better plan: If you have the package fully insured, and it does not reach my friend the doll artist in Spain, then you can file a claim and collect the insurance. Once I have proof that the items have been received by her in Spain, I will close the Paypal disputes.

    29. Ok, so I need to send you the 58 euros I agreed to pay toward customs, plus 21,15 euros for insured shipping to Spain. I am sending Paypal payment for goods and services but will pay extra to cover the fees. I believe 85 euros will cover everything, plus some extra. I have sent you the shipping information for my friend in Spain. As soon as I receive confirmation from you that you will send the package to my friend in Spain and accept these arrangements, I will send the payment.

      Hopefully we will finally be able to resolve this split.

    30. After discussing our options, we agreed that @sahtyne would refund my money and issue an invoice that included shipping my things to Spain. The refund was sent by bank draft and has not cleared yet. Once the funds are clear, I will pay the invoice and my things will be shipped to a friend in Spain. I have other things being shipped from my friend in Spain, so this works out quite nicely for all involved.

    31. I have called Paypal today and they told me that the refund will be compensate on tomorow. I hope that it's true. I'm sorry, I don't understand why it's so long. The money was debited from my account on January-23.
       
    32. I checked with Paypal and the refund has been processed. The credit card that was used to make the payment has not received the funds from Paypal yet, so I am waiting for those funds to be posted. Unfortunately I do not have this large amount available on my card, so I must wait for the refund to appear on my card. This has been very slow but we are getting closer!

    34. Update: the part of my payment to @sahtyne that was made by credit card has been processed and applied to my credit card account. The part that was paid by bank transfer was also received. When I tried to pay the invoice sahtyne created for the new transaction I discovered that it would not allow me to pay in two payments. It has to be the whole amount, but I only had about half in cash and the other half available on my credit card. To solve this, today I used the cash to send a payment to my credit card company so the whole amount will be available. It should post tomorrow or Friday and I will be able to pay the invoice then. Thank you for your patience.

    40. The package from Spain arrived yesterday. I have not had a chance to open it and check everything out yet, but so far it looks good. Will let you know more later today.
       
    41. I finally had a chance to go through this box this morning. Everything was delivered in good condition as agreed. @sahtyne even included a wig as a gift. I love the doll outfit and the head that I received through this split. We may consider this problem transaction resolved.
