Lost/Damaged PLease help me - tanned Bambicrony doll conditions!!!

Mar 23, 2011

    1. Hello
I ordered 2 dolls and just recieved dolls from doll company. But i have a problem with the dolls.
The dolls is arrived to my home and i saw the dolls have a seam parting line, has a MSC spot in her face and broke in headcap. I asked about this problem on company page. But they told me is normal, natural. It's hard to accepted this.
      Please see in this pics.

:( What do you think about this dolls condition.

    2. It looks like a rushed sanding job to me. Technically it isn't damage, just poor work.

    3. Most companies that make tan dolls have some kind of disclaimer that the tan dolls will not be perfect because sanding makes flaws on the tan skin. These kinds of flaws are often present in white and normal skin dolls too, I think, but because of the color, they are not as visible as on dark dolls. All my tan dolls have slight flaws caused by sanding.

Edit: Some companies also say that there will be parting lines because sanding them smooth will cause flaws in the tan resin. Your dolls seem to have both. Some people don't seem to realize this when they order and expect to have perfect dolls.

    4. This is fairly normal with tan dolls, sadly. I happen to have two tan dolls I ordered from a couple of companies. One from AOD is mostly even with a tad bit of discoloring on the headcap( not bad since I can hide it with a wig) and no seam marks at all. The other one I got from Illusion Spirit, and he had a bit of a lighter color along the seams, but otherwise was fine. Most companies have small flaws with tan or unusually colored dolls as was previously mentioned. Some of them produce dolls that are more evenly toned than others, but expect every tan doll to have a bit of discoloration somewhere on them.

However, the cracked portion of the headcap is what seems particularly odd to me. I've never had a chunk that large out of a tan doll. ( sometimes there are small air holes, but never horribly noticeable and never on the head. I would say that the sanding job with your doll was rushed, and the cracked portion of the headcap is very troubling.

    5. Wow I would not have expected it from this company. I know bobobie/resinsoul are notorious for their shotty sanding jobs on their tan/colored skins. It's basically poor work with too low a grit of paper, sanded on the seam lines only instead of a full resurface, and then they msc it and the msc gets in all the little scratches and it dries white. I'm always super leery about where I buy tan dolls from and will never buy if they are going to have any seam sanding.

    6. 1) it's normal for tan dolls to have sanding marks
      2) BBB is a cheaper line. with a cheaper doll line, sometimes they do a rush job when they sand, unfortunately.

    7. I have to interject here... ResinSoul are notorious for their bad sanding jobs? I happen to disagree, every tan doll I've seen from RS came in very good condition. I own both a light tan and the special order only dark tan and both my dolls were sanded at the seams and done very well. As in way better than some of the more expensive companies I've been seeing, especially lately.

Bambicrony are the ones notorious for their disgustingly poor workmanship in terms of sanding, at least lately rather than RS or BBB if you ask me. I've seen a great many light or dark tan dolls from both RS and BBB, as well as the unusual coloured dolls and none of them have had any real issues at all. Yes there IS slight discolouration from the sanding, it's to be expected we all live with that, but I've not found anyone complaining about it like people do about their Bambicrony dolls.

Tanned and unusual coloured dolls come with issues, we either have to live with it or not buy them, but what's being shown up there, is way beyond what's acceptable for even a tanned doll if you ask me. I'm not saying we should expect perfect dolls, it's not gonna happen, but that is simply really bad work up there. Parting lines, yes my Iplehouse Brown Skin Kamau has those, I'm not bothered by them at all, infact I prefer that he's this way because it means he doesn't have the minor discolouration that my RS hybrid boy does, but the discolouration that my boy has is seriously minimal as in I know it's there and I barely even notice it most of the time and it doesn't photograph so well either so no problems there, I really don't see that such poor sanding should be classed as normal when I've seen other companies do such a wonderful job.

OP, I'm sorry that your doll experience was ruined by these issues. I know how upsetting it must be to receive a doll in such a state.

    8. Echoing this; my tan Resinsoul girl and my four Tinybear dolls cast in dark resin by BBB are all perfect with no discolorations or seam lines. People should not jump to assume certain things just because some dolls are less expensive than others. OP's dolls are Bambicrony dolls.

    9. Sadly, this isn't unusual for Bambicrony. Sharkyra linked to the thread I recall. I've never had a tanned doll from anywhere but I am told that to a certain point excessive sanding and/or seamlines are normal because of the nature of the 'tanned' resin.
Looking at my peachpuff BC Sisley closely, she has sanding marks in the same areas (legs, headcap, arm balls), they're just *literally* invisible to the eye unless seen in certain lights because she's a NS tone. Sadly, I think what you're seeing is probably the same sanding just on darker resin.:(

The headcap looks to be a bubble (which I can see some on the upper part of the Marion's leg) I have a few bubbles in my BC in the same area of the leg, so the headcap is probably just that :(
The MSC... I don't consider 'normal' in anyway, however it may have happened in transit because of weather fluctuations.

    10. mel-mel-chan, javasoy, the dolls in question here are Bambicrony, not Bobobie. My Resinsoul dolls have lovely sanding jobs, there is nothing rushed about them. My tan Song is the only tan doll I own, and his sanded seams are very discreet, his resin is extremely smooth with no scratches. Some of my more expensive sanded dolls don't come close to his level of finishing, even with lighter resin color. Bambicrony, on the other hand, has been struggling with quality issues lately. Cost does not always equal Quality, or time spent in production.

syndrome, I'm so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience like this. I agree the headcap hole looks like a bubble, and by no means should you have to accept a doll in such condition. If nothing else they should send you a replacement headcap.

    11. That's horrifying!!! yikes never get tan dolls seams removed if they end up like this...shame on them for sending them to you.

Is there anyway she can condition the resin to remove the dried looking sanding spots ????????

    12. THIS. I also own two boys from RS, and while neither of them are tan (both NS), the company did an absolutely wonderful job with the sanding. The only light mark I could find is on one of my Gang's arms, and it's literally not noticeable unless you're looking for it. I only discovered it after having him in pieces while restringing, and giving all of his parts a good scrutinizing and a bath. My An has no issues at all.

Syndrome: I'm so very sorry that this happened to you. :( Some of those pictures actually made me cringe a little bit. I hope you find some sort of resolution. I too wouldn't be willing to accept that it's just "normal" and "natural". I do realize that tan dolls are definitely prone to issues like this (that's one of the reasons why I'm not very tempted to get one), but the scratching/discoloration/chips on yours is kind of extreme.

    13. tan doll have this sort of problem so when they say its normal it means with tan dolls yes it occurs. chips however arent normal so if there are any chips in the doll then thats not normal.. seams can be uneven and look like that. so that is normal unless you had them sand down the seams for you it wont be smooth. Seams dont bother me but i did not like the way my bambicrony girl looked when she came in with same problems , but yes this is very common with them

    14. Hello
Thanks for all comment. This time i still contact with this company. But they still assure not exchange dolls and refund payment. I feel sad T-T. It's like the company is happy when i feel sad like this.

    15. If they won't refund or exchange, the best you can do is an all-over sanding.
If you don't want to do it yourself, you can find someone in the marketplace.

    16. Int his time i going to contact with this company. And hope they understand and refund payment to me.
I think nobody want this sanding tan skin dolls and has a damage on the body. -.-

    17. Yes because sometimes they are normally skinned under the tan so you would end up with light colour lines.

    18. Bambicrony has now stopped selling their tan skin dolls. They said they will start up again when they can find a better quality manufacturer. They will be raising there prices according to them once they do. It is too bad they make really cute girls.

    19. PLEASE READ THIS:

Hi everyone, I am Syndrome. I bought two tan dolls from Bambicrony in 06/11/2010. The dolls came with flaws in my opinion, and I didn't want them in this condition (kindly visit the link below to see the photos)

At first, Bambicrony did not want to offer a solution. After a month of claiming I discovered Bambicrony has a return policy, which was never mentioned to me. I told them and, finally was offered a partial refund if I shipped the dolls back.

Dolls were shipped at 13 APRIL 2011. They reached Bambicrony at 19 APRIL 2011. Bambicrony confirmed they have recieved the dolls. And said that they were going to pay "a moment later".

Today is 18/05/2011, and I HAVE NOT RECIEVED MY MONEY. Tomorrow will be a month since Bambicrony recieved the dolls.

¿What is Bambicrony doing?: They just say "we will pay you later" or directly the don't repply to my messages at all! (photo of BC HelpCenter)

You can read all my experience, and see all the photos and all the messages in the blog:

WHY AM I OPENING THIS THREAD:

First of all I wanted to let everyone knwo what is happening. And second, I NEED HELP. I really don't know what can I do. I just want my money back and forget all this matter. Has never anyone experiences this situation? Does anybody know what could/should I do?

Any idea or comment will be more than wellcomed. Please, help me.

    20. Hi everyone,

I am Sakura_LH, the owner of the "Warning for Bambicrony" Blog.

Syndrome contacted me knowing about my previous issues with Bambicrony (I recieved defective dolls and got a refund). I offered my help to her. This is why I wrote the blog article and I am writting in this thread.

Please, we will be really gratefull to anyone who can give us any idea. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.

    21. Did you pay through paypal? Try contacting paypal and continue to send messages to Bambicrony and ask for the refund...This is upsetting and very bad business.

Also, if you pay by credit card, it's possible to get your money back by filing a claim with them since I know that some card company offer up to 90 days or 120 days for the claim...If all else failed, then certainly boycott the company and hopefully other people will follow? If enough people does that then there's a high chance they'll refund the money to them since they are losing customers and putting a bad face on their company.

And I wish you all the best and hope this get solved very quickly.

    22. That's really really terrible. I have heard of people having issues with BC and seeing this, I have decided to completely boycott the company, although I think their dolls are lovely. If they are this terrible to their customers and they produce that kind of quality, I don't really want to buy anything from them.

I don't have any advice about what you could do besides what the person above me said. If you did pay through paypal, maybe you could file a claim if the time period hasn't expired?

    23. Paypal claim periods expire after 45 days.

    24. Depending on what you used for payment you could try contacting paypal or credit card with the correspondence with bambicrony and file a refund claim that way.

Edit: Read Sakura_LH's blog. If you ordered in November then the paypal claim wold be expired. If you ordred with a credit card possibly depending on the policy of your card maybe you can file a claim with them.

    25. firstly im so sorry to hear that both of you have had these issues its terriable and no company should treat their customers in that way.

Have you told BC about this thread which is informing other users of den of angels about your issues?

i would let them know that you are sharing what is happening with other bjd collectors.
if you tell them that you are keeping a log here on den of angels that is informing other bjd collectors of these issues and their bad service you have had then they may feel shamed enough to help and want to stop the bad profile which they are building up and of course bycotting them as i would not go directly to them now as i was thinking of ordering a couple of dolls until i read this! so they have missed out now as i wouldnt take the risk!!!

if you paid by card contact them and see if they can do anything or even if they can suggest another way that may help you. i dont know if they are controlled by any trading standards? or consumer laws? which may help you to get a refund back as each country has their own ways of going about these issues.

    26. This is totally awful and seing the period for claiming to paypal was long ago expired, you may try what newdollfie-bjdowner said: tell Bambicrony you're now explaining their awful business to everyone since they decided to do anything for you ¬¬U

    27. Hello....
Thanks everybody for your advice. In 5/24/2011 i recieved refund from Bambicrony.
I'm very happy >x<. And now i writed the feedback about Bambicrony do to me.
And hope after they read my experience about Bambicrony. They haven't met experience like this. -*-

    28. syndrome - im soo pleased to hear that bambicrony did the right thing and refund you. i so hope they learn from this and no one buying has the same bad treatment that you went through. i hope that your next doll purchase goes perfect xxxx

im still going to leave them alone just in case! lol as i would be heart broken at that treatment

    29. Congratulations, syndrome!! :D

    30. I'm really glad to see that it was worked out.

However, I will not order from them knowing how they responded to you and how long it took. Clearly, the resin was more than just a tan skin issue from all the photographs you have on your blog of the dolls you recieved.

It had dents and holes in it, rough patches and totally looked awful. That isn't color variation due to resin . They need to work on their formulation or not sell a substandard product for that amount of money.
I almost ordered their SD tan girl, so I am happy to have found this thread ahead of time. Its not worth the potential hassle when there are other doll companies out there with tan resin dolls, imo.

    31. syndrome, I'm happy you've received your refund. :) Maybe you could edit the thread title to let people know that the issue was resolved at last?

Just for the record, Bambicrony stopped making dolls with the old tan resin several months ago, because they acknowledged that their customers were receiving an inferior product. Their new SD-size (Bellezza) girl is made with different resin in a higher-quality formulation.
