Effective immediately, organizers of meets don't have to start a new thread for each subsequent meetup. Just be sure to update the first post with the latest information, and update the header with the next date (please do put meetup date in the header, it helps everybody!). If a header isn't updated, we're likely to think it was a one-shot and remove the thread after 45 days from the last post. Also try to keep posts mostly meet-oriented. If a group/organizer feels a thread has gotten too long and warrants trimming, just contact the mods in Ask the Moderators. Yes, I know. Elsewhere = Everywhere. It wouldn't let a thread be made without a prefix.
Given the cancellation of so many meetups due to Covid, if you'd rather close your thread / aren't planning a new meetup or virtual meetup / don't want to use the thread to keep in touch periodicially with your meetup attendees, mark the thread as Finished, and we'll remove it. We've removed threads that haven't shown any activity for over a year, but are leaving the most recent ones up for now.
