~20cm Dolls Pipos Ice Cream Rooney Bunny in Soda (light blue)!

My first BJD is here!! Not the first one I’ve ordered, but an impulse buy from Denver Doll’s in-stock dolls, and the first to arrive. Need to be careful, I can already feel my perception of what constitutes a ‘reasonable’ purchase slipping.

At the top was a thank-you card from DDE! The Starburst pun was cute and a welcome bonus.

More digging unearthed the box itself. I was a little surprised by the size! But knowing the height of the doll in numbers was different from seeing it in person.

The certificate of authenticity + the card where I assume the eyes would've been, if they hadn't already been in the bunny's head (at least I was hoping they were, at this point! was still unsure what to expect).

After opening the drawstring bag, unwinding the bubble wrap burrito, and peeking into the last packing foam baggie...

I looked at a number of box opening threads here (and videos on youtube), so I'd have a better idea of what to expect. No plastic case, but he did come with a final strip of packing foam around his head to protect the faceup.

I popped his faceplate off briefly for a peek inside his head--he's my first, so I was curious! Hoefully I won't have to do maintenance any time soon, because I've got a lot to learn.

And here he is finally!! He's not standing on his own here, I'm just propping him up by holding his foot. But he can stand! It's gonna take a little fiddling to figure out the best ways to pose him/keep him upright, but I've had a lot of fun playing with him so far.

I think I'm going to name him Mickey, since it's the first name to pop into my head when I hear 'Rooney'. :> I'm really really pleased and I don't want to stop holding him.
