Pipos Anthros Minuet and Hopen

If only I didn't have two layaways going at the moment ;-; I want a Minuet with built-in ears, not magnetic... I hope they release another version of her with normal ears!

 

I was excited to see they said they would have basic versions of the limiteds, but they are not really the same sculpt with the ears being separate pieces. For me at least, it kinda kills the flow of the face.

Sadly there is no possible way for me to get one of the limiteds, so I will just have to keep hoping that Pipos will release a basic molded ear, jointed torso cat doll in the R.Pi or M.Pi size.

 

My guess would be face-up and outfits and such.

Well, at least there will be standard editions in case my Eugenie needs friends!

 

Okay I asked Pipos is they would do a basic edition and this is what they replied.

Does anyone know where to find full nude body shots? Er... found them! Must have been blind

 

Hrm... I love the R.Pi line but I'm not too thrilled with these... I don't know, their faces... they seem a little too angular for my tastes. Their eyes are so far apart and their snouts so small and pointy.. with very large foreheads... so they seem weirdly distorted to me.. Yeah not digging them at all. Charlotte has a much more naturally beautiful face, and then Derek's is very nice too... so I'm a bit disappointed here.

Oh well, not like I could buy one even if I loved it x_x I wonder if they are going to make 1/3 anthros..

 

I must admit I am loving Minuet myself, having a hard time not putting her on a lay-way. Personally cant decide between the magnetic ears or not. I love the idea of wearing wigs under the ears, but if I don't want her to have hair then the magnetic ears would be not as nice. I really want to see the magnetic ears one without a wig before I decide. Not a giant fan of the body either but I could live with it >_<

I'm drooling Limited Hopen. He would be pretty much perfect my cat group, but too expensive, so passing. Hopefully there will be basic! I don't like magnetic ears so much, so that's why gift edition is a no.

 

My basic Demon is breathing a sigh of relief that he won't be overshadowed by one of these lolly-legged giants; I was really holding my breath, but expense and aesthetics have made these a No.

I think the LE Minuet is beautiful, with the built-in ears, and I love her faceup. But I'm not thrilled by the gift editions; the wig with ears look is too much like Dearmine or Zuzu Delf. Also agree with E. Hadrian above about proportions. I adore my Demon because he looks spunky and strong. Hopen looks a bit too... wimpy, I guess. Oh, well. More money to spend on fripperies like food and shelter...

Fortunately for me, that is basically just how I planned to style my IoS Jack (if I can ever figure out proper clothing for him) so I am safe from another suit-wearing kitty.

I really do love R.Minuet, but I already had myself convinced I couldn't get her when the page said payment was due within 3 days, which I knew I couldn't do. Seeing that they are offering layaway nearly broke me. If I hadn't been in such a hurry to get to work, I think I'd have ordered her yesterday morning. Luckily, I had time to think it over while I was at work and realize that it would be a very bad idea, financially, and I would have to do a lot of work to fit her into my crew. I think I'm just going to wait and hope for lots of owner pictures. (And hope that she sells out really soon, so I can stop feeling the temptation.)

 

I think I will sit out this edition until owner pictures show up. I am somewhat in agreement with E.Hadrian's assessment of proportions - they seem a bit off, but it could just be the pictures. Paloma (Dear Mine Priscilla) is pretty upset with me, though, because she really wanted a kitty friend her own size! She's tired of hanging out with little ones .

I actually like the magnetic ears a lot. Before I got my very first Dear Mine kitty, I was a bit iffy on them. But, I love the versatility and the numerous wig options that they allow for.

 

I couldn't resist. I decided on the gift edition Minuet because I wanted to use a wig, and liked the face without the extra markings. I have the limited O.Charlotte and Derek in armor, and find them beautiful-- too pretty to take apart and play with. This one, I think I can play with! I was sold on her because of her picture in the compare doll size picture in the manual. I liked her with and without ears, and want to do both kinds of styling. I have been toying with the idea of a larger girl to sew for...can do more elaborate things than for the yo sized. Of course, the real issue is going to be what she actually looks like in person.

 

Anyone know how tall this one is? She definitely looks bigger than Charlotte!

 

They have the measurements for Minuet (44.5cm) and Hopen (45cm) in the Pipos manual area, along with a picture of some of the dolls together. They are indeed quite a bit bigger than the previous R.Pi releases.

I guess that's why they did magnetic ears - so that people have the option of a wig.

 

Yeah, I was really impressed by that image. X3 Even knowing the difference in measurements, I wasn't quite prepared for such a dramatic difference in size! Just looking at the pictures of Minuet, it still seems odd to think of how big she really is.

 

I like the image, too. Especially as I really needed to see what Minuet looked like without the wig. So now I have her on layaway. And I was thinking of a short mohair wig something like a mane for her. Nothing thick like the wig they have on her. Maybe someting like Hopenin's short wig. You can see the face better.

 

I don't think the gift editions sell out. The last group of dolls they did - Wizard of Oz - has a gift Dorothy and she is still available. And I don't see much difference between a gift and a basic as they are pretty much a plain, nude doll with choice of face up or not. I do find it strange you have to buy the tail separately as all cats should come with tails. IMHO.

 

I didn't realize that the tails are being sold separately - that's really odd. All cats should come with tails! I mean, it's a cat!

 

It does seem a little odd, but I imagine there are people who wouldn't want a tail, so I do think it's nice to make it optional.

If I had bought a Minuet (I'd been thinking of the B.Minuet and the temptation on that has fortunately passed), I had thought of making her a white Serval, in order to internally justify the size difference between her and my other kitties. I'd have actually had no use for the standard long tail, because I would have wanted to switch it out for their small/short tail.

 

I didn't even realize they had small tails for Hopen and Minuet! I did see a little deer doll and he had the cutest little brush of a tail! But it wouldn't go with a cat and probably can't even be bought separately. I'll have to go look for a small tail for Minuet. I do appreciate that they had the tail for less as an option than if you bought it separately. And most of the pics in the limited editions were without tails. I guess I just can't imagine a cat without a tail.

Well, the small tail I was thinking of isn't specifically for those pair, but Pipos offers it as one of their option parts. I don't know exactly how it would look on them, but I thought it would be a cute alternative to the long, thin tail that comes standard.

 

Oh, an option part. Well if you wanted a shorter tailed cat that would be the way to go. I haven't decided exactly how to dress my Minuet yet, so don't know what I'll do with her tail. But I wanted to have one for her because I have never seen a cat without a tail. I would really like to turn it sideways - if possible- so I could simulate it wrapping around her feet. I'll have to see when she gets here.

 

It mentions in the Pipos site manual that the head girth for Minuet is 19.2cm. Would it be safe to say she would wear 7/8 wigs from other sites? Or would she be 6/7?

 

Heartplace - that comes to 7.6", so I'd definitely think a 7/8 would be the way to go.

 

Oh wow, her head sure doesn't look like a 7/8! My pullips fit that and I'm shocked that her head must be the same size. Still, it's easier to find 7/8" wigs than 6/7". I'm really tempted to purchase her. I loved the LEs, but with Minuet being able to wear wigs, I'm way more swayed by her.

 

The time frame for these, according to Pipos when I ordered, was less than two months. They should be shipping very soon! I can't wait for her to come, and to see everyone's spam.

I did order her boots, but haven't wanted to sew without actually having her with me....I am excited! Already 'know' who she is!

 

Got the shipping notice yesterday!! She is on an airplaine, according to EMS....

 

Thanks. Have been following the tracking, and she made it to the post office in NYC!!! We are out in the middle of nowhere, though, so I am not sure she will get here before the holiday on Wednesday. She has boots, shoes and 2 wigs, but nothing to wear, because I am not sure of the size, and didn't want to waste energy on something that would not work. If she comes by Tuesday, I have a chance to sew on Wednesday, because I have the holiday off, but if not, will be a long time until I have a day where I can actually sew because of work, school, and life....

She's home, and lovely! More orangey than i thought she would be, and, not done by Doschul, although I thought that was on the original offer I bought from. My issue is that I don't quite understand the photo board thing--I only take pics with my phone...be glad to email anyone a pic...

At this time, because on top of everything else in life (or, more aptly, because of it), I broke a toe, and am not moving real well, all she has to wear is an "easy cheaty yukata" from the directions of the same name--but it does have a fancy obi with knots and bows...

Is this where one can ask abou Pipos cats too? Or is there another thread? I am very interested in the upcoming release of the lavendar and blue Ringo kitties on July 25. I have two Charlottes but they were bought here on the Marketplace. What do others think of these colors? I want one of each color as pets for my off topic Lilac Layla and for my Blue Koneko by Kaye Wiggs.

If I am in the wrong place will someone kindly direct me to where to go?

I absolutely love Minuet! I'm so excited that they finally released some MSD anthros!

 

I love the of kitty tails too! I have my two Charlottes' tails stored away and Kivi's too. Also, my Luna Tamer Chimera has a great giant whip of a tail. And my blue Koneko's tail is rarely used either. I don't take any of them out often because I don't trust the magnets. I MUCH prefer the tail of my off topic Mushroom Peddler Grin the Cat. He has a hole at the base of his spinal area for his bushy tail that fits nicely and is very secure.

 

I also am very interested in the release of lavender and blue kitties! ^^ I requested that they consider making Minuet available in lavender next! They said they would let the production people know. I'm sure if more people request it, they will consider it all the more, hehe... If Minuet ever becomes available in lavender, I will pounce on purchasing immediately!

 

Now that the new summer event at pipo's I am desperate to see some owner pictures of Minuet. Please please please someone show me what these are like in person so I can just decide on getting one or not.

And I think one reason she looks a bit better than the Pipos Pictures is that the wig I have on her is better than the one they used. I'm not a great photographer, but she is easy to take pics of. If you want to know about posability, I can take pics of her in some poses for you. Just let me know what you are interested in.

I love looking at the new pictures...She does dress well! And, for some reason, does look wonderful as a blonde, but can also be gorgeous in red or brown! I have done her up as steampunk/Firefly-ish and in a yukata (not been a good girl--playing instead of doing what I am supposed to do...and find her fun to sew for, easier than a yo size...although it takes more fabric)

Yes, moogie, you need to learn to post pics! Love to see what you are doing with your Minuet and in the different wigs and all. Oh, and your shoes that just slip on as opposed to my shoes that are attached to another pair of feet!

In general, I chose blonde as I am trying to make it look like her own fur. So today she got her new mohair wig and it looks really cute and fur like on her. I haven't sewn for her yet as I have a few other projects ahead of her. That is why I dressed her in what I had. I do like her in the blue green and will use that color for her when I decide what she is going to wear. I think I will have to drape a few things to see what she wants to wear. In the meantime she is wearing the blue green as the color is so good on her. So here she is in her new wig. Hope you all like it!

Such a pretty kitty! Though what would be the advantages/disadvantages of having the ears solid/magnetic?

 

Personally I think that the advantage/disadvantage is mostly personal preference.
The one piece (solid) looks better without a wig, and if you do want to add a wig it would have to be modified quite a bit for it to work. However the magnets are better for if you do plan on having a wig on the doll I think.
I really love the pictures so far. I am still debating on what to do. I promised myself that I would buy my MNF first and then decide on if I want one of these. But the limited time order grey skin sound soooooo good to me. >_<
