Pipos Anthro discussion part 1

Well, I can't resist Pipos cat anthros. I own four pipos cats and soon getting R.Charlotte. Here is pic of Rosalinda (O.Charlotte) and Marco (A.Derek)

I keep going back and forth on a Charlotte... but I just bought a new doll, so I think I'll have to refrain for now... but I'm so tempted!

Glowinshanka -- sorry for not answering your question sooner. Both of my cats came with the eyes shown on the Pipos website as well :-) They're gorgeous!

I love Moose!!

His eyes came in today. They're his permanent eyes. His character doesn't have a green & blue eye....

His violin came in today, too! Buuutttt...uh...ahaha...it's too small! So I'll be ordering a new one, pffft. Poor Moose's heart broke when he realized he couldn't play it. It's...like... a Pukifee-sized one.


Olivia's new dresses are here, though, so Moose is happy about that! Such a cute lady.

I just love his sleepy expression. I had originally been lusting after the Event Head (which, don't get me wrong, I certainly wouldn't pass up if I found) but I'm so delighted with his sleepy face, I'm beside myself.

Booker arrived Thursday! I've been sewing shirts like a madman trying to get the right size and I finally figured it out last night. Only three tries later and he's got a early St. Patty's Day sweater. If your really thinking about not using tail with your Dali I'd suggest just not getting it. Booker came with his completely attached and while I like it, it's gonna make pants a pita. I really wish it was detatchable.

 

Sorry it's kind of dark, I'm still having trouble's with aperture and all that on my camera XD Cube is a LOT cuter in person than on the website!

I love the new basics - especially Curo and Rooney. I think they have beautiful coloring on their face-ups. I already have a Curo, so I thought it would be fun to get a little Rooney. Added plus is - Rooney is the same size as my Ringo kitty, so they can share clothes.

I love the new basics too! I'm still deciding between Rooney and Curo... or both! The colors are so lovely and well done, I'm so excited for these little ones. I have two pukifees and I think they will be adorable together, plus they can share clothing 3

By the way I asked DDE if they would be selling the new Pipos line and they said they would if demand was high enough. So anyone who uses DDE, please request the new series!!

Also I found out that resin colors such as grey can be ordered, but only if it's a group order of five or more. Just in case anyone was wondering ^^

I know this discussion is pretty much dead, but I was wanting to know if pipos' white resin yellows easily. I really hate to deal with yellowing, it's heart breaking really :C And I want to keep my dolls out in the open, not packed away. If it's a problem then I'll go to the beige so it's less noticeable. So, does anyone know or have comparison photos? I'd love you forever if you do

 

Sparrow, the group order for colors (direct from Pipos) is 3 or more for each color, not 5. I have a group order for grey open right now, since the deadline is March 31st, and we need just one more!

With regard to yellowing -- I bought my Rooney seconhand in the first half of 2009 (he has the original one-piece torso). He's gone all over the place with me, for a number of "barefoot bunny" shoots outdoors especially, and his only turning is to a pale ivory color when compared to pure white. It's hardly noticeable, IMO, especially in pictures. This is the last outdoor shoot I did with him, back in last August:

It's a lot less of a turn than many other white dolls I have who don't go into sunlight anywhere as much as this little guy.

Anyways I myself am trying to get a Grey Ringo Tempted to just get 2 of them just so I know for sure I can get one before the deadline but I doubt I'll have the money to do so..

As for the request Sparrow had, I have a ws Ringo from the first release. I believe she was made in 2008 and has the default faceup on her face, hands, feet and tail. You can see if the picture below she as a beige tint to her, part of it is the faceup colors and the other due to age. Her face, feet and hands show the most yellowing. But it's not really that bad imo.

I do plan on getting her wiped and sent off for a new faceup soon if I am able to get my Grey Ringo

BTW, I just noticed Pipos marked all of the other dolls as SOLD OUT. I was really bummed that Mac is sold out now D: I'd really hoped to get him sometime soon.

 

Sparrow~ >> I have a Baha from the 2007 batch. In my opinion, the yellowing process is hardly noticeable to me since I have only one white skin doll until one fine day around in year 2009 then I realise he has yellowed.

The following are a few photos I took yesterday to compare the yellowing. The human hands and feet came together with my Baha and have been stored in a container and put away in a cupboard. They might have yellowed a fair bit but not as much as my Baha. As for my Baha, I do play with him so he gets some sunlight and air when I bring him out of his box, else he is packed away.

Another to compare the resin between 2007 & 2009. Not a good comparison because different cameras were used and the light will affect the colour too. But anyway they might be of some help, take a look the paw against the white blouse.

Please note I can only conclude that my Pipos white resin Baha (2007 March batch) does yellowed over the course of 4+ years (in another week, he will be into his 5th year with me) with sufficient sunlight and air to age the resin.

 

Hi all! Bumping up this thread to show off my Pipos Dark Rabbit. I've had this guy for a long time and finally took the time to take a decent picture of him. The picture reminds me of why I love Pipos so much. He is so amazing!!

So who all is getting one of the new basics? I'm hoping for a mint Cheshire

Does anyone happen to know if these 2012 pipos dolls are sprayed with some kind of sealant? I got a blank 2012 cheshire basic in grey resin but he has some weird gritty feeling going on that I noticed when I began sanding his seams down.

I had a Derek for a while, and my wife had a Charlotte. Also, I just recently ordered a Ringo. I plan on getting a Heero soon. I'll let you know what I find out about my Ringo and Heero once they get here -- as far as sealant "grit" goes.


Derek and Charlotte BOTH had a "grit" to them -- they almost had a toothed feeling when I touched their resin. It was actually a very soft, toothy grit. It's nice.

My Derek had a lot of dust in his joints, too.

Charlotte had a bit of grit on her face, near her face-up.

It is my wife's and my impression, that Pipos MIGHT actually spray them with a sealant, yes. In which case, I doubt that the "dust" in Derek's joints was actually resin dust. I highly believe the "dust" was dried sealant -- dried spray and not resin at all.



Derek's sealant wore off after he wore clothes for a while. He was grey resin...Charlotte had white resin and she didn't have a LOT of grit, except for on her face-up.

Hey guys, just popping by to show off my Pipos Cheshire my Girlfriend got recently~

she did the faceup by herself to resemble the default faceup that pipos do and she added the stripes. i just would like to ask though, since we are on the topic on yellowing and such, How does pipos grey resin fair in the greening department?

I haven't taken photos of my Baha, Quinn, in a long time. I've had him for over 5 years. Back before Pipos had their own site. I got him from their reseller, DollnDoll. So, he got some attention today.

Can anyone tell or show me the difference between Derek and Demon's sculpts? I can't tell, other than the scar. I want to get one eventually, just need to decide which one.

I got a Cheese Mouse today. As I ordered the pink resin I was expecting it to be a girl but with the option C face-up it actually looks quite boyish. He looks so silly in a dress, he really doesn't want to be a girl! But I hardly have any decent boyish clothes.
Does anybody know where I can get clothes to fit the Jr Pi dolls? There are hardly any on their website.

 

betsyblue: Most PukiFee or Lati Yellow clothing willfit your Cheese Mouse.

 

Congrats on your little mouse's arrival, betsyblue. Like Enchanted, I'd say you'd be best looking at Pukifee and / or Lati Yellow clothes...there's usually plenty out there to look at on both Ebay and Etsy as well as usually here in the marketplace as well.

Thank you for your help Enchanted and JenKat, my first PukiFee is going to be arriving soon, so I will try some of his clothes on my Cheese Mouse and see how they look.

No definite name for him yet but I think i'm going to go for something cheese related like Cheddar or Edam. I was planning on taking some pictures this weekend, so I will post one on here once i've done them

I thought I saw a note somewhere on Pipos that they're slightly redesigning the Roggies? I know they say changing the eyes is difficult because of the head shape.

Roggie makes me smile every time I see the pictures, but I'm worried about those skinny fingers and toes breaking! I also like Bao and little Ruth. I might end up with anthros even though they didnt interest me originally.

 

I have a Curo and I wondered... do YOSD clothes fit? Are they like... crazy big?
I just found this beautiful Volks YOSD dress, and I'm am wondering, if I make myself splurge that much on one outfit, if it will look rediculously big instead of elegant?

also, do you guys put on body suits/extra shirts/stockings under your doll's dark clothes to protect the resin? I'm wondering what I would do with a dress like that o.o; especially the necklace
