Ages ago I got myself a little Picco Neemo Fairy (with the big hands) and it wasn't long before I bought her a new outfit... It was during this outfit change that I somehow snapped her leg off (hip joint is broken). It can't be fixed either. If I glued then she'd lose mobility. So she's been my one-legged gal all this time. I want to get her a replacement body. But I'm not so certain I want to get another Picco Neemo body. I honestly felt I wasn't being rough with the doll, my hands weren't even on her legs when suddenly her leg popped out from under the dress... *shrugs* Anyways, I was wondering how others felt about the picco neemo body (any version) and/or how it compares to the Obitsu 11cm body.
I don't have a picco neemo, but I can vouch for the ob11. They hold poses like a champ. I've been a bit rough with mine and there's no breaks. Mine is currently rocking a Pang Ju head.
I love the Obitsu11 body a lot. The mobility and stability are very impressive. The body compares to the look of a Felix Brownie, but due to their plastic and rubber materials, Obitsu11s hold their poses even better than their resin twins. From what I have seen of Picco Neemos (haven't handled one in person, but I like to watch YouTube reviews), Obitsu appear to more solidly hold the pose you set them into. I have snapped one Obitsu11 joint: the lower peg and ring of the neck joint, by having a relatively large (~4.5") head on it and adjusting it either too forcefully or too frequently. The body is fairly affordable to replace, but Obitsu doesn't offer individual replacement parts for this size, which is kind of a shame. I bought the magnetic feet version the first time, but later realized the magnets become useless when shoes are worn. It's more practical to instead get shoes with magnets in them, unless you like to display your doll barefoot or in thin socks only. Clothing from Kelly and Friends (Mattel/Barbie), Lati White SP, CuPoche, as well as adult dresses for Calico Critters (Sylvanian Families) all fit the Obitsu 11 nearly perfectly!
This certainly has me leaning towards hybridizing my girl then! Hopefully it won't be too difficult, neck-wise. Thank you all for your input! Maybe I should get one of each body and do a comparison - there don't seem to be many out there. @Lokinta That's extremely helpful, thank you!
I'm glad if I could help! The neck installation should be fairly straightforward. You will need a small (+) screwdriver in addition to the parts which Obitsu sends along with the body. It's a one-minute task, after the first time.
Oops, didn't even notice which forum (saw it on the "recent threads" section of the main page). Sorry!
I wonder if the Obitsu 11 bodies can wear Picco Neemo clothes, though. I definitely think Azone has cuter clothing options and more variety. My 23cm Obitsu can wear Pure Neemo clothes, which is great.
@solitary agent I wonder too. I think certain clothes won't due to the differences in bust and waist. But that's great to know about the 23cm Obitsu! I've been eyeing a certain elf sculpt... @Birju_Lachi If you could that would be utterly amazing and most helpful!
@Birju_Lachi Thanks so much for the comparison photo! Wow there really is a big difference! Now I'm not so sure her head would look proportionate on the Obitsu, so a new picco neemo one will have to do. And I'll probably just get an Obitsu for a different doll/character. *nods to self*
