Photo Upload Places in Japan

    1. Okay... So, I live in Japan. I've taken a butt-ton of pictures, but NONE of them will upload to ANY site. It's really starting to bother me. I dunno if it's my connection, my camera, or what. But if I can skype my parents with a webcam, WHY can't I upload one lousy 4 MB picture to a picture uploader? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    2. 4MB photo? Have you resized it at all? It might just be that the photo itself is too large to be uploaded to the web.

      I would try to resize the image smaller and try to upload it again...


      ETA: I have used GIMP in the past as an alternative to Photoshop. It is a free program. With it, you can resize & reduce the DPI of images to be posted online. :)

    3. Try Picasa? By default it'll resize uploads to 1600 pixels on the long side but you can override it and upload full size ones too. Just note if you want to embed directly link images in a forum they're limited to showing at 800 pixels. Bigger downloads have to be from visiting the webpage.

    4. 4MB is a really big file, something's going wrong there. Are you using Photoshop or similar?

      I use Flickr, which I believe accepts full size files, but not sure about that.
